My contractor quoted me $3.6k for the whole of my 3 room flat leh....am I being "ku dou"?? !!

Went this evening hoping to take more pre-reno pictures but my contractor is so efficient and had hacked most of the original stuff. My original floor plan The view from my main door The view from my kitchen (can watch live soccer matches ) for the various sizing...still trying how to load and reduce the images.... My corridor MBR toilet Common toilet hmmm...juz wondering how come my pictures come out different sizes when what I did were all the same??

After browing renotalk.com for the past 1 month, I'm getting very excited towards my own renovation. Really thanks to those who share their valuable tips and experiences, I cut down many unnecessary mistakes. I bought a 3-room flat in Bedok in November. I had collected the key on 1/1/2008 (a good start to 2008 ) and completion is scheduled on 11/1/2008. I had handover my existing flat to the new owner last week and was storing all my barang barang temporarily with a friend. My contractor promised to complete the wet work before CNY so that I can move my barang barang into 1 room first. Cavie

Thanks all for the comments... I will proceed with the hacking of the wall tomorrow as I will like to change to entrance to the toilet. I will have 1 more week to decide whethere to install glass panel or to build concrete wall. As the cost difference is only a few hundred dollar, I most likely will go for glass.... Hacking starting today and will be start a blog soon. Cavie

Hi, Am thinking of hacking away the toilet wall in my MBR toilet to install a fixed panel and a swinging door of tempered glass. Anyone doing this and there any regrets? My friends are all against it as they say glass panel very difficult to maintained esp in toilet area and moreover, bathroom and toilet suppose to be a very very private area..... Comments and advise please....many thanks!! Cavie

Hi Ongfam, Came across ur t-blog fews days ago and since then been checking it out everyday :-) can't wait to see your progress esp the "SNOW WOLF LAKE" tiles... more pic can? please.... I'll be starting my reno in 2 weeks' time and my floor plan is the same as yours :-) will not change the layout as extensively as yours cos I have to keep the other room intact :-( now in the process of confirming the design, choosing tiles/laminates/kitchen top/colours etc. Also learning how to start my own t-blog Btw, can share how much your ID is charging you for changing the whole house window/grilles and plastering all walls? I have added these 2 items after I confirmed the package and think I was quoted on the high side (though his other reno items are very reasonable).
