I had a friend who bought this table top made of a hardwood material called Suar Wood. This material is hardwood but has the qualities of laminates while still having the natural wooden look. I felt it looks really natural while keeping the functionality aspect of tables.
but will it be more expensive than the laminates one ?

This is despite having to work together to resolve the nitty gritty stuff of living together for the first time, such as the wife nagging at the husband to switch off lights which aren't in use, the storage heater after showering, closing the door when air-con is on, etc etc
It's all about cultivating shared living habits lah. Do you all face this with your partners too? Regardless, living together has been a lot of fun! We recently got a clip on wide angle lens for our phones, which means we could capture more extensive angles of the house! Shall share some pics with ya'll here:
Recently shifted the dining table from beside the window, to beside the wall. Might only be temporary but it frees up quite a bit of space!
In our year of staying here, the number of "animals" in our home also increased about 10x. Our friend who visited again after some time also commented on this whoops. In the living room alone, there are about 16 alpacas of all sorts, on pillows, framed illustrations, toys, and so on. (Maybe we should have guests do an animal themed treasure hunt when they come over. Play spot the alpacas! Lol).
The 2 most prominent ones are here. They were custom-made for our wedding so why not just keep them around in the house too right? Let me show you the rest...
We have an entire herd of them! The rest stay in the barn, I mean, storeroom now. Okay I should stop this topic here, we're starting to sound crazy.
Anyway, overall it still looks like a normal home, don't worry! We've adopted some plants too!
A fiddle leaf fig, pothos and mini pineapple plant. The mini pineapple is crazy spiky and always pokes me so we share a love-hate relationship. Also, spot the mini harry potter!
Here's our kitchen, which hasn't changed much at all. We recently bought a microwave which has proven to be very useful. No more heating up of leftovers on the stove!
We also put up some decoration for Christmas last year!
The fairy lights are our favourite addition
Here's our sideboard looking sparkly and pretty!
omg, hahaha what's with the lamb xD , you have so many of them ! Is it part of the decorations?

I think you can study from this as well, as get inspiration or something. What is important for scandi design is not all white but in the mixture of some wood concept as well.

On 10/7/2017 at 2:37 PM, jax79sg said:Hi, i had requested a space for a built-in oven during my reno about a couple of years back, the dimensions and the photo of the cabinet space are attached. My questions are as follows.
1. Can i check with the folks here if a 57(w)x57(h)x60(d) cabinet can properly host a modern/current built-in oven?
2. How does a built-in oven vent the heat? Need to cut holes?
3. What kind of built-in oven options do i have?Other pointers...
- There's currently a door fitted to 'beautify' the cabinet till an oven is fitted, can be taken down.
- There's a 9x9x4 three pin plug, not sure if can be taken down.Thanks.
For what I see, you definitely need to drill holes for ventilation unless you always keep your cabinet door open while baking stuff. Or I can foresee that the bottom of cabinet may sink as for the heat.

I need feedback from the forum regarding the quality of the iQuartz or Caesarstone, and your feedback on our price quotation from an ID.
- iQuartz and Caesarstone?
I failed to find out how the quality varies between the two brands in the renotalk forum.
The current owners who installed these either iQuartz or Caesar stone. 1) How long have you installed it? 2) What is your experience with the product? (installation, quality, etc)
What justifies the price premium of Caesarstone other than the branding?
We may switch from Caesarstone to iQuartz if the quality is good and reasonable.
Is the following price quotation reasonable?
SGD2,320 for Labour and material to install 20mm Caesarstone Kitchen countertop with backsplash
Size: L:2,900mm x HT: 860mm x D: 600mm | L:1,400mm x HT 860mm x D: 600mm
Thank you
Did you go for the caesarstone at last? How was the quality of it?

cause normally wiring is hid under the floor ( for some that is skillful) , so if you have done ur flooring already, you have no choice but to do the wiring above ur floor and hence like that
