There is much reason to feel overjoyed-as Domain of Singapore Tutoring Experts turns six today, I was just informed our site is now ranked by Alexa as being among the top 5000 in Singapore and top 600,000 globally. From zilch to featuring more than 60 carefully considered tutors on a platform which also comprises numerous knowledge databases, opinion sections and a humble marketplace, we have come some way in part largely due to your unwavering support and encouragement, yet make no mistake about it- the road ahead is still long and possibly arduous. However we shall persevere, and strive to deliver up to the minute, relevant content alongside showcasing top notch vetted educators for your consideration when you desire quality assistance in academic subjects. We are not exactly proponents of tuition, neither are we opponents. We were borne out of a confluence of consequences which include this nation's ongoing obsession with grades and a highly unregulated private education industry where too many unscrupulous middlemen agencies have long feasted on the naivety of parents/students. Perhaps when the day finally arrives when a real paradigm shift has taken place as far as the notion of securing an education in the little red dot is concerned, our presence shall no longer be required. Till then, it's business as usual. Lastly, allow me and my team to offer each and everyone of you a sincere thanks for being with us all this while, we are only as awesome as you allow us to be. Happy Birthday Domain of Singapore Tutoring Experts!

We have updated the list of our top 20 most viewed tutor profiles for March. Not much changes this time round save for a very minor shuffle in rankings. A handful of others not already featured are slowly catching up however, and may displace those currently on the leader board shortly. So 加油! Top 20 Most Viewed Tutor Profiles

As in previous years we have created a set of tables indicating various gross income levels, taxable incomes and the associated taxes liable for your convenience at How Much Tax Does The Tutor Pay? (2018) So do make sure you file your returns properly! (deadlines are 18 April 2018 for e-filing and 15 April 2018 for paper filing)

We received an inquiry from a student: Hello, you'd probably heard of the super embarrassing episode recently about the stolen 'A' Level Chemistry papers, and YES I am one of the students affected. To my horror, I was issued a final B grade based on some absurdly stupid projection method used by SEAB ( I believed I was capable of scoring an A), so I am now placed in an extremely unenviable position of having to decide whether to do a resit in April. Which IMO is bloody unfair because I have already forgotten almost everything, and therefore need to get up to speed with the subject matter once more in such short a time!!!!!! I am planning to apply for an overseas scholarship, so every grade matters to say the least, but I am also terribly afraid I might end up scoring even worse than presently, which would derail my plans even further. Feeling so **** torn and conflicted.......honestly what should I do? The full reply by our senior councilor Mr Eric Chng: Hi , Sorry to hear that you were one of the affected students who didn’t get the A that you should have deserved. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to change the situation as it is now. To be honest though – assuming you had done consistently well for your school exams in the past,I would like to think you probably have a fairly strong foundation in Chemistry. So if I were you, I would quickly assess my proficiency, then seek help ASAP from the school teachers to quickly get up to speed on my knowledge gaps (stuff that I have forgotten), and give it a shot at the exams. It’s going to be a slog to make it for the exams, but it’s worth the risk, especially since you have not too much to lose (having a B, as it is, already limits your options). Just my 2 cents.
