  1. This is what my friend who works in HDB told me. Heavy thunderstorms again! for those staying facing the city, do you encounter that the corridor outside your main door will be all wet. my slippers usually will get soaked. do you think we can request HDB to install rain protectors?
  2. You mean the laundry racks installed by HDB in the kitchen? believe it costs hdb 1k+ for each rack in each unit.
  3. Hi Cece, i got my cracks plastered and repainted by the BSC. It's very troublesome though. think the plaster guy only available during weekdays. i have to spend the whole afternoon cleaning the house after they repaint as they need to sandpaper off the thick plaster before they can repaint the ceiling and wall. alt of dust after the painting.
  4. I think it is not provided by HDB. Only SCV users will need it if they want to surf web and watch cable TV using the same modem at the same time.
  5. thanks for your update, Jacky! the zi char stall is not bad in my opinion. can see the biz is quite good.
  6. so the G&W keys are the keys to the gas meters? i have some difficulty locking it just now after reading Mrs Png post..do you all have the same problem? in the end still unlocked now
  7. hehe me too..i am from original SERS..but is young, tech-savvy and still in this forum going to retrofit the windows and throw away old furniture from my old unit tomorrow morning. Alister, would hdb accept my unit if the lock to my wooden door in my old unit is spoilt. ie i cant close it. i am securing the door to the metal grille using a bicycle chain at the moment.
  8. Congrats euphobear on your completed renovations! you must be relieved now!
  9. my wife got her slippers stolen yesterday. 2nd time already, first time was my slippers..but amazingly it was returned to my flat one week later.
  10. yeah you are right about the police in singapore getting too pampered nowadays and almost to the extent that they are losing their authority. no thanks to Mas SK at all. i remembered the days the fear of policemen that was instilled by my parents. that's why older people are more law-abiding.
  11. Thanks for the info! i was wondering how much i need to fork out to change the rivets. Almost forgot to call MDA too. HDB officer also called me today to remind me to remove the toilet window panes and hoard it up. says the technical officer may not want to take over the flat if the panes are in danger of falling off. tomorrow arranging with town council to clear out the old furniture from my old unit.
  12. Sorry i guess the contractor that you are using is BCA certified right?
  13. Hi Alister.thanks for the contact...but is it one digit missing from the hp?
  14. hi hi..can PM the contact for your window contractor?
  15. wah never say anything abt drillings on weekends. guess i got no case. another question for original enbloc owners: do you change your window rivets to the stainless steel one as required by law before you return the flats to hdb? i am returning my flat soon, and hdb officer they wont take it back if they found that the windows rivets are not changed. i was like..aiyo, going to demolish the blocks already still have to spend $$ to change to the rivets just to return the flat to them..what a waste of $$ and no rationale at all.
  16. Hi, just like to confirm no drilling work can be done on weekends? the contractor above my flat was working and drilling on Saturday again. morning and till 11pm at night. really inconsiderate i must say, esp when it has been going on for the past few saturdays
  17. Must stop Drogba and a revitalised lampard...they are the dangerman.. Liverpool rules the CL!
  18. Yup yup..never walk alone..my wifey is a die hard Man U fan...i hope Pool can also progress to the Final..then we can see a real 'fight'! tough tough match tonight....esp when it is played at Stamford Bridge.
  19. liverpoolforlife: staying up later to watch CL semis?? i will be..esp when tomorrow is a public hols..Pool GO GO!
  20. Promotion 2 weeks selling for $49, usual price $70..but not sure whether promotion is still on or not.
  21. Not that i recall..perhaps i was out at that time. that reminds me.. i need to get a torchlight or emergency LED light. For Toyogo racks, you can go to their website http://www.toyogogroup.com/TYGSG/index.php the model number is 891-4 for 4 tier rack. Feel that this model is the most sturdy one. At least it wont topple easily if you shake it. the pic can be found by clicking 'Furniture -> Shelving system
  22. I bought Toyogo plastic racks instead. They were having promotion 2 weeks ago for 4 tier rack going for $49, usual price $70. It's quite sturdy. Only problem is that you have to fix it up yourself, which isnt too hard at all though.
  23. i am also from 79B. I was initially wondering whether the cracks on the ceiling could also be due to the renos just above my unit. one thing..they have been drilling the walls for the past 3 saturdays when i was at home i thought the workers are not allowed to do drilling on weekends
  24. well..u have not finished your renov yet right? i already moved in abt a month ago. so have to remove the paint, plaster it and then repaint again..so house going to be messy. friend says it's common for cracks esp if it is a tall building and cracks appear because of expansion and contraction. should not be of concern unless it is a deep crack..but still better than to fix it now rather than later.
  25. Hi all, i notice your paint cracks on my ceiling and one of the MBR walls. Do you all have similar experience as well? Surprised that the cracks came up so soon. Called the BSC. they said they can only come down on Mondays to do the plaster and another weekday to do the touch up as it is done by 2 different contractors.....so ma fan.. sigh
