  1. aiya me waiting to c pix of the ceiling on the corridor toward the mbr one. Haf u done up tat part heehee... coz tat is someting different from other heehee...

the laminates not up yet, only my lights are installed... progress is slow this week, only polished the parquet

nice false ceilings with cove lights there :yamseng:

thanks, quite amazed that just 1 row cove lights can light up the whole living room. intend to use them instead of the downlights, hope not much power consumption

  2. We went to Clementi to ask about curtains & blinds. We were advised not to have blinds because of the right angle in 2 rooms... So, we're gonna use curtains for the whole house (boring...)

There are 2 shops @ Clementi central that makes customised curtains, the one beside Bata does not do customised curtains.

Both shops quoted us the same price, $1400+ for the following...

Living room - Organza + String curtains

    Bedroom - Normal curtains

We're gonna ask the shop located @ Beauty World food center tomorrow...

check out my blog (link in my signature) for more photos :P

  3. h4happy, it looks worse than before... did yr ID warn you of such discolouration for granite tiles? If so, maybe you got no case...

my ID warned me of my initial tile selection, and the SBH also told him to warn me of discolouration in some tiles before confirming order. in the end, I changed my tiles to something "safer"

  4. hey all, I js came back from my hse in blk 26C and noticed that they have installed some wire wiring boxes (or called wire ducting) at the ceiling in the common walkway and life lobbies on each floor all the way to our electrical and utilities room outside our hse. Anyone have any idea what they are doing this installation for?

I noticed that as well... Starhub cables?

    1. Lifts not maintained - break down often at Blk 27B, (feel free to add your block no if that happened to you)

    2. Cleanliness in carpark

    3. Noise of air in pipes still persisting

    4. Malfunctioning or blown lights at lift lobby

    5. No corridor washing

    6. Rubbish piling at dustbin area

    7. Corridor wall very dirty

    8. Carpark lights not on from 3rd floor onwards

    9. Smelly (urine) staircase at carpark block. (Not sure for the residential block as I don't climb the stairs. )

  5. Hihi,

Do they give only halogen lights? Got others mah? Something not so 'hot' because we do not really spot lights kind of 'heat'. :good:

Oh... my lights must use halogen bulbs

    1. IKEA round ball light @ $15

    - Very good for toilets, I used it with a 23W Osram E27 and my toilet is very very bright

    2. IKEA Multi-Directional Spotlights @ $19

    leding_3spot.jpg

    - The halogen bulbs they gave were very very bright, blinding actually

    3. IKEA Dining Light (forgot price)

    - I used it with a 18W Osram E27 and I think it's very good

  7. magnetic is stronger and better.. i bought the magnetic one also. The uncle who fixed it for me gave me the "step" one to chose, so we chose the step one eventually. Now kinda regretted that we shld do the magnetic one.

my magnetic stopper still at my home now inside the box hehe

    sell to me then :)

  8. hi all, anyone have any contacts for big piece of mirror? i thought of installing it on the wall at my dining area. thanks in advance. :bangwall:

    60cmx40cm @ $17

Call Sha @ 94551320, cash & carry available. Near Sim Lim Tower

I got my door latch too... any hardware shop will have. @ 4.50. As for the door stopper, i bought the magnet one. i feel the one in the pic will be too hurtful if i were to step on it bare-footed.

Is the magnet one strong enough to hold our main door?

Not kiasu lah. Just to play it safe and not let any robbers to gain access to our home.

Btw...I have asked my id to drill 3 holes also. Any use? I dont know...

any use? how secure was my door with the 3 holes?

  9. me in 356B..

    END of IDs hunt

me finally finalised on my choice of ID- I Z Design & Renovation.

To reflect on my journey of choice of IDs, I may not have need to go down to any reno fairs to search for IDs. But they definitely give me more numbers that i can compare all the items in my quotation between all the potential IDs. Easier to see if individual IDs are quoting more than what they are supposed to. Bear in mind, different ID company has different comparative advantage in doing their stuff, some cheaper in carpentary work, other in ceiling works. And the only way u will know wat they are asking for is to put on ur thick armour and ask. It is good for you to find out what they are using, what material, what grade, etc..

DO remember to ask for final discount.. :jawdrop:

Finally i chose the one that i have prior knowledge and experience with since she had helped reno my fren house.. and i think it is really nice.

Perhaps can see more pic soon.. but after my FW give the green light to start reno.. cos chingming is ard the corner.. and she is the PANDAN one..

    noballer signing off.. sleeping soon..

All the best in your reno! !!

When will u be starting? Any theme for your house? :deal:
