Saturday we went to JB again to do some shopping. The kitchen sink we want is out of stock and we end up placing order for a similar one but a better brand at a higher cost. RM595. Anyway we bought 2 basin taps. Total damage RM220 only! We also bought our master bedroom lights. The 2 below metallic lamp. HeeHee...we walk around the shop and saw people testing doorbells......We ended up buying 1 too! RM38. Is it expensive? We dunno the price of doorbell actually.

Toilet tiling are half done, our black black walls. Actually the black tiles has a little bit of sparkle but can't see from photos. Our Windows are all up too! Including the toilet lourves The window uncle dunno why go change the aircon box up part into window too I think he cannot stand the almost rotting wooden box up thingy so he was so nice to change it away.. Although the window is nice but I am wondering how can we conceal the windows panel so that the aircon condenser won't be seen after installing. Before After

Sounthernlink building is the shop name. It's those shop houses. Just a small store. But they have quite a numbers of items for ordering.

Nothing done much for the past 1 week. The workers only manage to put up the door frames and start building on my mini store. It is only 3ft by around 5 ft. It will be hollow block by the sides and the front are made up of black glass doors. Woooo...the rubbish chute is gone...!

Continue...... We bought a 50 litres Joven storage heater from the same lighting store for around SGD 260 only. 2 Alpha fans. One for living area (without lights)& another one (with lights) for hubby so call game room. The lighting shop salesman recommend us to go to Perling to get bathroom/kitchen accessories. They are closed when we go there but the lady boss was so nice to let us in to take a quick look as she was there to feed her cat! My hubby saw this tap and want to get it for our kitchen. It is only RM85. I'm going to order kitchen sink from them & also to get some other stuffs.

To share some of our buys items We got all our items from JB. Our LED downlights. 12 watt. Our Bathroom lights..(actually I bought on impulse, not sure if they suit.. ) Another impulse purchase..2 industrial metal hanging lamp. We actually thought of spray them to matt black colour to suit our black and white kitchen, but till now still unsure if we should do that. Our simple bedroom light, made up of white glass and sliver metal(It cost us like RM85 only ) Inside can put 3 lights bulb so it will be super bright. Finally for dining lights, our strange looking pendant ball light made up of stainless steel. All these for around RM1000 I think..

Side track abit...show you guys the tiles we have chosen for the house.... We are boring...basically the house has only 2 colours.. BLACK and WHITE!! Living Room is Homogenous White tiles Kitchen Floor is Dark Grey tiles, The one with 180 written on it (I think it is ceramic?? I didn't ask my ID... ) Bathroom is Dark Grey, the one written as 100...so is the wall tiles, with 350 written on it ....We are so boring right..!.... Bedroom floor we will be using laminates. Have yet to confirm what colour tone we want exactly. Kitchen laminates we are choosing Black & White...again..Haven't confirm with ID but most likely will be the below. White Funk & Funky Black..it is slightly shimmering. Bedroom wardrobe will be totally black. Mixture of 2 types of black laminates. Piano Black & Nigeria-B We will be using White Solid Top for kitchen. We are doing island kitchen with Island Hood (L shape). I wish to minimise the lines seen, solid is the best & the cheapest (Cut cost )

Waterproofing seems to be done for the common bathroom and kitchen floor.... but dunno why is the tile not fully hack at the bathroom area.. I ask my ID...he says dunno...maybe too hard to hack so never hack... I know he is just joking.... Haha

Hacking continues..... Piles of sand in the house.... Part of the tiles are also delivered... The storeroom and kitchen entrance wall is still there. We are suppose to hack all these away. But I think HDB is not working lo ... Our permit for hacking walls is still not out..

We finally start our T-Blog. To keep it short, it is a resale 4A 108sqm flat at Tampines. (After viewing more than 30 flats... ) We already gotten our Keys on 18th Oct 2012. Our ID firm is Renoguyz. (After going through as much as 10++ quotes... ) We decided to use him because he knows our concept and what we want. Attached is our floorplan. So far have not seen anyone with similar floorplan. The place is in super original condition..so original that there isn't any stove or carpentry to hack!! But we like!! Posted some pictures of the house before the renovation starts... A few ID quote me a simple raise platform, about 6 inches high, 8 by 9 feet. With laminates same as my flooring. Price ranges 750 to 900. Dunno if it helps. But according to your picture, it sort of look similar.

I know it may sound silly but I realize to hack away things you don't want can cost like a few thousands. I'm just wondering, can we hack floor tiles, wall tiles, dismantle all kitchen cabinets on our own before getting a contractor to to renovate for us? Is it legally ok to hack your own tiles without a contractor?
