  1. Whoa Hello, your memory very good. you're right, we got that unit. the flat is totally empty, so we will have to furnish everything ourselves.
  2. They just started actually. The last time we spoke to our TO, he said that they will be 1) removing all cornice in living room 2) hack toilet, living room tiles (dunno about replacement cos we may not want them to) 3) replace cracked and missing windows 4) smoothen all the walls. currently the rough rough type.. We are only going back to see this Sat, so not sure what they have actually done. and we are hoping that they will do as spoken. *fingers crossed* our place at blk 245. got it direct from HDB through Feb ballot for $470k. we felt that it is really ex but got it cos of the proximity to MRT and Central. could have collected keys in April but we were hesitating, and postponed to end May.
  3. Hi all, finally decided to take the plunge and collected our keys on 30 May. Can now add me to EM kaki from Tampines. Now headache trying to decide on design and sourcing for contractors/IDs. and trying desperately to save very hard so that we can do a decent enough reno. Been surfing around this forum a lot. To see how others do up their flats. so please, please show more pics on how you guys do up your place. HDB is doing some rectifications to our place.. wonder when they'll be done.
  4. Hi peeps, If it is not too much trouble can I get your contractor's contacts and their quotes for all the works done at your places? Wish to have a more realistic comparison. (as well as whether you'll recommend them in terms of service, workmanship, cost effectiveness etc.) Thank you!! pls email to kullwee@yahoo.com Looking forward to all the assistance we can get... =) And does anyone know how much enclosing a balcony will roughly cost? Cheers!
  5. Hi JackBatok, - How much did it cost for you to convert your Wash Area to WC? - AirCon $4K is for what sort of system? Can cover the entire house? Or just bedrooms upstairs? - Re-wiring $3K can cover both upstairs and downstairs? - How much to shift the toilet bowls and sinks within a bathroom anyone knows? Anyone here experienced the need of installing an StarHub Cable point? Wonder how much it will cost and if it's worth it, to install 2 points. My unit seems to not have it.. =( And my unit also does not have piped gas - anybody had the same problem? Does it mean I have to use LPG in those containers? Out of interest - did anybody try electric stoves? I heard that the power consumption is not economical as compared to using LPG - is that true? Thank you thank you for any assistance possible! We are desperate to know what has to be done and if it is worth our while at the end of the day. =)
  6. Hi, I'm a newbie here. Managed to 'chope' an EM in the HDB sale of 4-rooms and bigger flats for Sector C recently. Am really having a hard time deciding if we should exercise our option. The unit is just opposite Tampines MRT and it costs a whopping $470k. Do you guys think it's worth it? Just went to view the flat recently and it looks pretty run-down, so I reckon renovations will be pretty extensive. We are wondering if we can keep reno to just about $40k. With that budget, is it possible to do the following: - hack tiles downstairs and replacing with homo tiles - change railings for stairs - hack kitchen tiles and install kitchen cabinets. - buff and polish upstairs parquet floors - extend living room into balcony - redo 2 toilets? Have another question, - It's one of the 'first' batch of EM and it doesn't come with a WC downstairs. Can we convert a section of the wash area into a WC? If yes, how much does it cost approximately? Appreciate any advice / views we can get. !!
