May I know if the Toshiba system 4 specs for your quote of $3589I got it at $3799 3xmodel RAS-M10NKCV (9k BTU) and 1xmodel RAS-M22NKCV(22K BTU), with Compressor model RAS-4M26SACV (34K BTU).
hee that sales guy did not write the model down. only wrote the brand. I think it is the same as wat u mention.
1x22KBTU and 3 x 9K BTU.
how come urs is more ex?i got my quota frm Gaincity. or ur price is inclusive of the G22 copper pipe upgrade?
-

Welcome! I find that aircon is one of the most headache to decide. Took me a long time to decide. Will deciding sys3 inverter, sys3 non-inverter, sys3+sys1, sys3+sys2, sys4 inverter, sys4 non-inverter. Finally after a long long long decision process, went with sys4 inverter. Just hope it will last me for a long time too.which brand did u choose?
i tink may go for toshiba sys4 inverters. heard compressor is made in japan..
Gaincity quote me daikin $3839 , toshiba $3589, mitsubishi $3719
and then still need to top up $230 for upgrade of something with copper pipe G22..i cant make out his handwriting haha..
I am at home waiting for the installers to come to install the Toshiba System 4 Inverter today.Getting this system 4 purely on consideration that mostly to on for 2 BRs at night and day for hall. Therefore, the consumption might be high too, and getting a system 4 does make sense.
Other considerations:
- The phasing out of R22 by year 2015 and maintenance will be higher
- system 4 able to add more value to your house when selling, as R22 has phased out
Just my 2 cents worth. Also, based on your budget.
what is R22?

I think they just sit on top of it leh......but won't drop de lasorrie heehee.. me still dont understand wor.. glue or sit?so ur door can open normally with hinges? or when u want to open must take the whole piece one. hee.. sorrie me abit toot toot
-
oOoh u mean ur cupboard door shelvings are just sitting on top of the indent concrete support? got drill into the the concrete? will it fall off if its just sittin on it?
hee dun mind can i repost ur sink pic here? for better viewing:
mine also $680so far all the IDs / contractors quote around this price for concrete support
$200+ is dirt cheap wor
hee.. issit? at least i feel better now i'm not the odd one heehee..
i remember asking abt the low wall with hollow block at shower area also came back very ex!! one forumer got $280 for 2 hollow block low walls in toilet. i got quoted $480 for 1.
perhaps cement and concrete material increase 100% since few mths ago..

for us we mostly wont on all the rooms aircon at 1 time. also seldom will on. most will be 2. ya lor we checked 2 places told us dun have system 4 non inverter.
i heard daikin has sys4 non inverter but i tink becuz my living / dining room is too big it needs a bigger fancoil so the current one not compatible..
we may prob need to choose inverter after all. mb wil lookout for the advertisement and ask again thnks 4 the advice!
-
u mean the polishing wont blur off the solid surface? it will still be glossy rite?
-
i think mine was about 200 plus if i am not wrong. i got the pics in my blog.......come come see seeurs quite cheap.. ho bee quote me $680.. duno why i realise my quote always abit high ... we look like cai tao issit?
i'm quite puzzled how did the carpentry guy manage to stick the cupboard to the concrete block? hee..
are you able to take a pic of how the cabinets doors and exterior aree joined together with the concrete?
so i can show to my ID.
-
by the way, may i know if it is able to outsource all the electrical works to another contractor? then how do the installation of false ceiling and carpentry lights and other reno etc gp together?
-
So weird, your price is much cheaper then mine and its also from Ho Bee. Does it mean their price is not consistent and think I big carrot ah!Anyway conceal means on the wirings and not the lights. Surface you can see the ugly looking casing on the walls, and conceal means you need to hack the existing wall and you wun see the wiring at all. Wirings on false ceilings are considered as surface.
hmmm no leh, i called him to ask he say false ceilings lights are considered conceal. which means to say every lighting point i have in the false ceiling will be $50 for running of wirings + $10 for installation of lights = $60.
so does that mean those down lights at the top kitchen cabinets also $60 each. *faint*..
strange i wonder why it is different for urs and mine. he got list surface and conceal price for u?
mine is new HDB flat. is urs new too?
i still find it ex though.. another ID quote me $41 which is $19 cheaper than him. duno can bargain or not...
-
hi, can i know if the following electrical works from Ho Bee is the norm?
Electrical Works(surface) (conceal)
1. Ext 1 no. 5Amp lighting point @ S$30 $50
2. Ext 1 no. 5Amp 2way lighting switch@ S$50 $70
3. Labour fee to install per set lighting fitting @ S$10
4. Ext 1 no. 13Amp single switch socket outlet @ S$40 $60
5. Ext 1 no. 13Amp double switch socket outlet @ S$50 $70
6. Ext 1 no. SCV TV point @ S$90 $120
7. Switch control for cooker and hob @ S$80
8. Ext 1 no LAN point @$120 $150
btw, i am still abit confused what is 5Amp light and how conceal works..
so false ceilings and Lbox lightings are considered conseal or not?
wat abt those downlights under kitchen cabinets are considered conceal?
if mine is new hdb, does cutting the existing false ceiling to shift its location abit issit considered conseal?
-
do you how much do they cost normally? me want those full length wall to wall type with shelving inside the mirror cabinet.
was quoted me 250 for the cabinet and 240 for the mirror...
-
anyone using system 4 non inverter aircon?how much is a non inverter?
me tryin to look for one and went to gain city at compasspoint. he told us only inverter for system 4 and not much stock or brand for non inverter. ard 3.6 K.
best denki dun carry system4 aircon...
anyone got any recommendation for the brand of ur system 4? and where to get quote?
-
i suddenly have hesitation on having bottom cabinets for my bathroom. cuz it is near the toilet bowl. abit cramp.
Thinkin of removing this item from quote or replace it with a top cabinet with full length mirror that can be open up with side shelvings. plus maybe i can put light behind the top cabinet to create mood lightings.
Anyone did this for ur toilet? Any idea if they costs the same or if top cabinet is cheaper as well?
-
alamak now then i realise i cannot click to enlarge my pic..
do you guys mean it will be 2 different piece one which is the one with the pipe, the other is the one with the sink drawing?
hmmm dun like join lines..will there be any problem with your join lines?
so i guess the limitation of solid surface is width. too wide to be one piece for my layout.
-
i plan to do a L shape kitchen cabinet and solid surface but i have a recess area. i tried to draw the portion of my kitchen cabinet and sink area out. hee.. lousy drawing..hope can get some advice here?
thanks!
i am wondering if solid surface can be cut into any shape and length? something like mine?
-
hi ckoonyin,
may i know how much was ur the concrete sink support? do you have a picture of how it looks like when opened? !!
-
hmm..sounds logical. since sillicon can allow expansion and contraction better than normal plaster, concrete.
anyone familiar can comment more?
-
i was also told it wld crack after sometime due to expansion and contraction.
are we able to DIY the plastering if it shld have cracks?
really considering of plastering the grooves for only some parts of the house...

My depth is around 10cm and yes it can take many 750ml shampoo bottles . This is the reason why i wanted the ledge in the first place. How many hollow blocks did ur ID used to create the depth? one hollow block should be around 63mm from what I have read on HDB websites and some other contractors quoted me for building of walls.
-
yes yes thats what me wanted!hee.. may i know what is the dept of ur protuding wall?can i put a big size 750ml shampoo dispenser bottle there without it falling?
