  3. today being the National Day, decided to have a mini steamboat party and ice cream making party again....

decide to be more adventurous and do something more difficult....oreo cookies ice cream!!!!

1st time using egg yolks for the ice cream....wasn't successful for the first round of custard, it curdles up and initially i didn't want to waste but then i want the ice cream to be successful so i try to do the custard base one more time and took more care with the heat and all....i'm glad i did as i'm quite happy with the final product.....

    Happy National Day!!!

    DSC00487.jpg

my son has made the empty space below the tv console his official parking space.... no amount of coaxing can make him throw his flight of vehicles back in the toy basket... plus he decided he wanna try his hands in interior designing... see the figurines standing on the console? that is ID to him... :bangwall::bangwall:

haha ur boy is smart to park the vehicles under the "shade" lol

  5. mm..does that mean there's a special cleaning agent for marble/granite? think later i muz also go to home-fix le..have to buy a lock :D

shld have bah, can ask the salesperson to recommend. i go to the northpoint branch, service is so far so good la.

last time nvr step foot into home-fix. after having own house, home-fix become an important place to look for maintenance/home products liao.

  6. mm...didn't know that granite need maintenance de..okok..later muz remind htb to take good care of his kitchen top :D

pbtgal..dun worry la...i didn't show the surrondings of my flat. my bad. haiz...think htb and i aly have internal injuries liao..think will need to go ICU after we finish our wedding dinners..

great choice to use marble/granite as solid top. we have a very high maintenance corian top. acrylic solid top is very porous indeed, have to wipe wipe wipe wipe. bought a solid top cleaner at home-fix to wipe out fresh yellow stains from coffee/whatever colored residue. can zzz just cleaning...

  7. fondue, the sales person at asia excel told me i can place this way so that in any case if the basin breaks, it will not cause a permanent hole in the solid top and will cause me some inconvenience if i were to get a replacement basin. so this is not correct? this is actually smooth surface so i thought it can be placed this way.

as long it's the same material with the rest of the sink then it's ok. the deca sink we bought has to be fitted in as that part is rough.

Mom is worried more about the boy. worried that the boy will climb out from the bed and cross over the guard and fall on the floor.

then worried that the gal will be scared to sleep alone...haiz

hehe...ya. she very hiao one lah. always wana pose for me.

pebblewash is ok for mine. im using cement for the pebblwash. what happened to yours?

1st time we used was using cement however the pebbles was hidden in the cement (almost 50%), and the outcome wasn't what we expected. 2nd time we used polyurethane and they brought a different kind of pebble. strangely there are tiny sea-shells in the pebblemix which I thought looks like usage for an aquarium too. apparently the uncle said the pebble we had can be of many use. hmm... the reason why we are doing a 3rd time is we and our guests have bad experience with the prickly sharp pebbles.

now then i know that what went wrong the first time after researching.

    excerpt from http://www.sunden.com.my/Pebble.html

"While the fresh lay pebbles cement topping is in still in plastic stage, special brush is deploy to remove the surface cement slurry to expose the pebbles. The next day, the balance cement stains is to be treated with acid wash. Lastly the finish surface is then sealed with a 2 coats of Sunseal G-20F solven base acrylic sealer to protective from dirt and stains as well as improves the overall strength of the floor surface cum gives the job an attractive wet-look"

my first pebblewash is far off from the pebblewash pictures on sunden.com.my

We drove to the night safari (15 drive away) and had a simple dinner at bongo burgers. Polished it off with ben & jerry's icecream!!!

    Hiak hiak!

  9. mmm...i think it's meant to be what familyof4 did it. so that can see the design. at least thats what i saw in sim siang choon

hi rierie, the reason why showroom they dun mount in is because easier to change display.

    familyof4mbrvanitysink.jpg

basically the part where the arrow is pointing to, if it is a rough surface (different from the rest of the sink) then it should be hidden in

how long will he take to finish it? then you got to hide inside study room throughout ar?

probably wed or thurs will be good...coz the baking experts need to do their pastry one day in advance.... :jammin:

he will be here on tomorrow too, not too sure when he can finish but we stated we are only able to do so on weekend. there are other stuff to do - grout lines in the living room. ya, now hiding in study room and doing laundry at the same time.

ok i'll let you know on thurs :) where did you folks post the PPP? Paiseh to hijack familyof4's thread...
