Any Comments On Red Designers/violet Interior

Hi all,

Been to Expo today and very interested with 2 IDs:

1) Unimax

2)Violet interior by Red Designers

Seen a few post on Unimax but nothing on Violet Interior nor their parent company Red Designers.

Anyone has any comment on Violet Interior? Their office is at Dickson Road.

Appreciate if you guys can advise us. Thanks!!

Hi,

Went to expo last week, and got one quotation from Violet.

As compared with another id's quotation, their prices are not bad, which i can say average.

First impression was not bad, especially when you talk to the manager. They were not too pushy, nor asking for your budget. Many suggestion given, and things to save cost. from the design wise, i can say i can rely on them.

so far i am approaching them, and viewed my place, even though i've not sign the contract with them.

They are actually new company, just launched last year, from their parent company red designers.

They are not holding any certification such as Radac, etc.

Let's see.. Will update you on any news

It was Violet Interior. The manager is Mr C.

But we didn't choose them as our ID, bcos the price is still too high for us.

My wife to be and I sat down to have a chat with one of the designer from violet interior during expo... had to say the time was truly wasted as the ID just doesnt seem to hav a clue abt what is happening.....

Mistake 1: doesnt even know hw to use a ruler to measure the dimension correctly.

Mistake 2: doesnt even understand basic layout of hw water pipes etc are arrange.

Mistake 3: this is the most ultimate one..... says no hacking of walls in new hdb flat.... absolutely not allowed... we were so stunned by her next comment... if want to try have to ask URA for approval??????? wat the heck has URA got to do with HDB???????? we can understand if the ID is green.... but we are turn off by the fact that the id insists shes right.....

we just give up after that......

Oh yah thats right you cant hack wet area wall in new flat..... but un-fortunately that wall is in a very dry area..... and you definately dont write to URA to hack hdb wall....

we like their design when we saw them at expo.. but the guy never got back to us leh. been weeks and no answer. wondering why so long. other IDs have come back to give us quotes and we started nego liao. i think violet self-eliminate.

my friends house has done by designer from violet interior, is very beautiful & reasonable price, feel comfortable... I think the company is not bad, my house will be ready soon in next few months, i will let them consult me...hehe

2nd sharing -

last year, my relative has let a contractor named Jacky from U-home Interior or U-home builders & carpenter to done up a their 3rd outlet of Fashion Retail shop in one of the shopping mall, They are very dissappointed with their services, quality and price - the company is called U-Home interior or U-Home builders & carpenters, when my relative approach them due to hurry because my relative got the key from landlord, they quickly look for designer has to renovate the shop within 14days fitting out period.

The designer called Jacky agreed to help us with the budget given but end up there are many hidden costs only reveil after completed, a contract of $35k end up become $60k, very terrible.

How it happen? at first the (Jacky) designer try to be soft spoken with you and gain your trust until you don't have precaution on him then you just give him the budget and let him design and sign the quotation never really read thoroughly the content of the contract because he said one word "Trust Me" I will complete everything for you I have experienced and can deliver in 14days. he promises it.

Finally the renovation has delayed further 1.5months then completed, my relative need to chase him almost everyday to hurry up until fed up. After complete then realise he so called experience job is given us the main store room without given door, the cashier counter is at odd side, the wall is in raw without laminated, even the company signboard is given wrong size, and is stick up side down, the glass door is done wrongly, the hanging rack is too low until hang clothes is almost touches the floor and some size of rack is overprice, the unit never wash clean before handover and late 1.5months (my relative still has to redo it again)

The Designer is very rude as well, he speaks very rude and shouting to my relative too and not to asnwer call for one of 2 days. Very unreasonable and irresponsible. My relative lost $25,000 rental due to delay of opening and contract overprice by almost $20k after checked with other renovation design company. They forcing my relative to make paymentt to them until purposely make nuisance in the shop, my relative no choice just pay them first. I think my relative plan to sue this company.

This is the bad experience we ever met. Hope everyone of you will beware of U-home Interior or U-home Builders & Carpenters LLP, hope you won't be the victim again.

3rd sharing - last time my another friends has let Image Interior and Spacious Interior to quote price for the Condo, their price is very expensive and design is quite normal. Finally my relative never sign with them, they have signed with lady designer in Violet interior, their house just done few months ago very elegant and price is relatively cheap and the designer is very friendly and professional. you can try them.

My friend approached them too, not like that le...

After floor plan given to them, my friend said within 1 week they can disicuss with my friend for design & quotation already. after few meetings, my friend decided to sign with them. Now the house is completed too, very nice and the price is reasonable. my friend said they are very professional.

I think is depend on which designer you are approaching...try to contact with them again or can contact any lady designer in violet interior.

You can check with HDB rules & regulations or URA then you can get the answer, don't need to guess....

some designer advise you to hack everything possible want to earn your money, some said can't hack .....the most suitable person to answer to you should be HDB or URA. Share with them your idea I believe they can advise you correctly with No doubt.

We have recently appointed Red Designers / Violet Interior as our Interior Designer for our condo in Centris
