Granite Tops

Recommended Posts

i have been quoted granite top for my kitchen. the first day i moved in, i realised there were grey speckes (i am sure its not the design) that looked like stains, but cannot be cleaned. i realised its the 'paint' came off.

i looked at the underside of the table top, i realised it is grey there, the top is glossy black granite.

am i been taken for a ride, or is it the quality of the granite or 'paint'. the only thing i have done on it is put my dishes on top. if its so easily 'scratched', in a year, the whole top will be grey, instead of black.

I think yours is granite. The underside of it is grey cos it was not polished. If polish, it will look the same like your topside, glossy black.

As for the paint, not sure what it is. Maybe you should post a pic of it here. I chose Blue Pearl for my granite worktop, see below for pic.

Initially, I wasn't quite used to it, kept seeing dirts or stains on it but couldn't clean them. After a while, I slowly gotten used to its design & became lazy to wipe liao.

Don't worry abt scratching it with your dishes, granite is very hard.
