i found it a cheaper alternative rather than solid or granite top.

that's an interesting idea. Perhaps you may want to consider that the grout line between the tiles will be quite hard to clean when stained.

but it outlasts any wooden cabinet. u can put boiling pot directly on it and no problems.... try it on corian top and see
