Questions About Reno / Hdb Rules

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! my family just recently bought a 5-room flat in tampines.

Would like to check if there's any regulations about blocking of windows in a room 'cos we're thinking of using the room in the middle (3 bedrooms in a row) as a walk-in wardrobe shared between the MBR and other bedroom at the other end.

Does anyone know?

Thanks a lot for your advice! :sport-smiley-018:

Oh thanks! I meant.. like putting a partition blocking the window or smtg like that.. no, not removing the window, hehe.

i looked through the HDB guidelines and no mention of that, so I'm just gonna take it that there's no regulation for that.

Examples of Renovation Work Not Allowed

Partitioning with combustible or toxic emission materials (e.g. plywood, plastics, asbestos etc.)

All rooms must be properly ventilated, if fact the louvre on top the top of some old style HDB room should not be conceal.

Also, if case, there is any fire evacuation via the window, there is no access.
