Copy And Paste 3I

Recommended Posts

Having trolled for a long time, I've decide to simply copy some of the designs here... with very minor modifications only. I even copy the contractor by hiring the one which did those work. lol

A bit of intro on the buying: I went for 2 days of viewing only.. saw this unit on the first day and really liked it. After viewing other units, which are even older and in a sadder state of disrepair, went back on the second day and OTP liaoz. chop chop. A somewhat unique feature of the house is that it is a WIDE corridor, almost a big square. Machiam outdoor living room. You can do buffets there and hang your clothes on regular days.

Got the key on the 4th Dec. Here is the floorplace.

Basically, it's the design of those 3i units in this forum where they hacked the wall between living room and kitchen, reducing the size of the kitchen. A L-shape kitchen cabinet, sliding glass door. I am single, but didn't hack the common room for a super big living room. Going to rent out the common room to subsidize the flat. :D

The thing I DIDN'T do is the rotating TV display. While it looks good, I am concerned that there will be reflection from the window (corridor) when watching TV during the day. It will also permanent divide up the room, and have less flexibility on the use of floor space.

Cont'd.

Common Room

Master Bedroom

These I will not touch as they are in pretty good condition. Same thing for the toilets. They look pretty new, including the bi-fold doors.

Things I WILL do:

Hack living room floor (too old looking for my taste)

Plaster living room wall for smoother look.

Same thing for Kitchen wall and floor. All hack.

Hack Wall dividing living rm and kitchen, replace with Glass door

L-box for living rm light. Again, my concern is light in the middle may reflect off the TV. And, it looks good. :D

L-shoe cabinet for kitchen. Only stove no hood. Minimal cooking if any.

And that's about it.

Contractor will also clean and repaint the whole house, include the rooms.

Hacking started immediately on the 5th. I am told I am his last project for the year, if not it will go into CNY and will delay until after CNY liaoz.

Pic taken on 7th.

this one taken on 14th. Living room plasted, kitchen wall and floor done.

By 17th, the L-shape wall was also tiled up. But I forgot to take pic.

-------------------------

Going later after work. Hope all the lights are done.

Aircon coming in on 28th, by which everything should be done. Had to go for Panasonic as their compressor is smaller. Mitsubishi compressor too big to fit through the MBR windows ...

Contractor promised to touch up the painting if need.

Outstanding:

COMPUTER and FIBRE internet. (very impt to me)

SOFA, coffee table, TV console, 2 workstations table, 2 chairs (planning to get all these from IKEA)

TV, washing machine, microwave oven (haven't decide where to get this. Courts have 10% discount if I used my friend's card but their prices starts off being more expensive...)

Thinking to settle all this Wednesday (since I am clearing leave) and EVERYTHING delivery on 28th. Target move in by year end? *cross fingers*
