About Bar Sinks

Recommended Posts

Hello Friends,

Bar sinks were designed to work on both interior and exterior surfaces. They provide an additional sink for homeowners and are available in a variety of colors, styles and designs. A freestanding model can look elegant and tasteful, while a stainless steel version provides a classic look to an older bar. Shoppers can even pick different shapes, from the traditional round shapes to more unusual circles and triangles.

Materials: Bar sinks are available in four types of materials: stone, ceramic, metal and glass. Glass sinks are typically more expensive because they're handblown and freestanding, which means they don't fit inside the bar itself like the other models. Of all the varieties, metal and ceramic are the most inexpensive because they're similar to regular sinks. Shoppers can find a multitude of colors and finishes in the different bar sinks ranging from bright shades to more traditional stainless steel.

Types: Under-counter mount sinks slide beneath the existing counter, with the edge lying beneath the counter. A waterproof sealant is added to the sink to prevent any damage from water sliding through to the underside of the counter. A self-rimming bar sink lies flush with the countertop like a traditional sink. There are also vessel mount or freestanding sinks that sit on top of the counter with the faucets attached to the wall. Shoppers can also find farm sink styles that hang over the edge of the counter.

Function: Bar sinks are meant to make life easier by giving you easy access to a second sink in your home. The sink slides into an existing bar or countertop, with the waterlines run under the counter. The sinks are available in small and large sizes and they're especially helpful for those who host parties or events at home. These sinks can also be used outside on exterior bars and counters.

Features: A bar sink is designed to slip right into an existing countertop and the hole made for a sink, provided that it's the right size. At the bottom of the sink is a 2-inch drain hole, which allows the water and liquid inside the sink to drain into the pipe below. This is the standard size of drain hole, though some sinks come with a larger one. It also contains a faucet system at the top, with two handles and a spigot or only one handle. Certain models also contain a sprayer.

Considerations: Double check the measurements of the sink space before purchasing a bar sink for your home. While there are standard sizes of bar sinks, not all holes placed in counters are the same. There may be a slight variance, from several centimeters to several inches. Purchasing a smaller sink will make installation more difficult and purchasing a larger sink will require the hole be enlarged. These problems are solved by measuring for the exact size of sink needed.

Thanks and Regards
