Glass Writing Board

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First, I must say I am completely amateur, being still in school in fact!

Anyway, I hope to be able to build a transparent glass writing board to be mounted to my wall, which ideally will looks something like

http://www.google.com.sg/imgres?hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&tbo=d&biw=1366&bih=643&tbm=isch&tbnid=3otzFBwDN1eHyM:&imgrefurl=http://www.hellotrade.com/princeboard/product3.html&docid=qYB8NfBRbA5I6M&imgurl=http://images1.hellotrade.com/data2/MO/EE/MY-/magnetic-glass-board-250x250.jpg&w=250&h=187&ei=-PMBUc3QLMTPrQe-rIHwAw&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=209&sig=110275371098515525639&page=1&tbnh=130&tbnw=180&start=0&ndsp=25&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:0,i:96&tx=31&ty=39

I know my companies do offer this service, but the prices are STEEP! WAY OUT OF A STUDENT'S BUDGET!

So I scouted and looked around, found the spacers (aka standoffs) and the gass panes, only to realize the cheap Ikea glass panes for drawer-top is tampered, means I can't drill holes through them to make use of the spacers! I considered acrylic, but that will cost too much eventually!

So now, I'm looking for mirror holders, but now, they're the expensive and rare ones to find!

Somebody, help me!

P.S. One very particular point, I don't want my glass to be stuck to the wall. I want a spacing between the wall and my glass. I love that effect!

HELP!
