Experienced Plumber - M. Nasir (Kathral General Work)

Hi, just to share:

We've been staying in our resale apt since 2008 and repairs/maintenance are inevitable as the property is now about 15 years old and we did not change/renovate extensively before we moved in then.

Most recently our common bathroom shower mixer handle broke and the Ariston 15l water storage heater in the kitchen started leaking. So we went to Poh Joo, bought a new shower mixer and called their contact, Nasir (plumber) to remove the storage water heater.

We couldn't change the shower mixer on our own as the concealed pipes were not aligned. Nasir and his nephew came, he took a look at the existing mixer and told me the pipes inside were crooked and that the previous plumber had somehow bent the mixer to fit it in. It took him some time to fix the new one as water would leak from between the wall and the mixer. Todate the shower mixer is working fine.

He then removed our old kitchen water storage heater from inside the false ceiling and plugged the pipes. They were careful where they placed their tools etc and his nephew took time to clean up after they completed each task. It took them 1.5 hours to finish their work.

He quoted me $60 to fix the shower mixer and $80 to remove the storage water heater. I've been told that his pricing is on the high side. But I was pleased that he was efficient and careful with my home while they were working. We've had 3 other plumbers carry out other repairs previously but were not confident of recommending them. It's always better to get a few quotes/prices to compare. And if possible, feedback on workmanship too.
