Pvc Or Metal Pipe For Kitchen Sink, Current Metal Pipe Leaking

Hi,

Currently my kitchen sink metal pipe is leaking.

Consult two plumber one from mrfixit and one from NTUC for price quotation. Did send them photos of my leaking kitchen sink.

mrfixit - $95+ to change the metal leaking part only

NTUC - $120 change the whole pipe from metal to PVC

Can PVC pipe withstand hot water, I do pour hot water down the kitchen sink. I did google online and it shown that PVC pipe will melt with hot water.

So just wondering is there other better alternative.
