Advise Needed On My Quote

Hi,

I need some advise on my renovation quote for my premium 4 room flat see if the price is reasonable. I've short list one ID out of 5 (which was recommend by my friend). Out of budget issue i've selected their package offer at $10688 with free cooker hood & hob. I still have not decide to opt out the free item or to buy myself outside. Please advise, package detail as follows,

Design Consultation & space planning

3D perspective drawing

Design proposal, selection of colour & material

Project management & site supervision

Mansory

Construct 50mm height kitchen cabinet base plinth with side tile

construct 50mm height washing machine and fridge base plinth with full tiles

Ceiling work

install proposed design L-box light holder **** hall

install proposed design L-box light holder at dining hall

install false ceiling at bedroom passage way

Carpentry

20ft L kitchen cabinet

install stainless steel dish rack

soft closing mechanism for all doors

ABS trimming for all doors

10ft Quartz work top

6ft L TV feature wall

6ft L TV console

Plumbing

install drainage pipe for sink & washing machine

extension of copper piping for new kitchen position

labour to install 02 sets of instant heater or 01 set of storage

labour to install 02 set of bathroom accessories

General work

painting of whole house using Nippon emulsion paint max 5 colour

provide floor protection with corrugated paper

provide chemical and general wash for whole house

application for HDB permit if require.

Price at $10688.00

My question is :

1) is the price reasonable?

2) 4 Progressive payment of 15% 40% 40% & 5% OK?

3) Pakcage offer is Quartz top for kitchen cabinet, is it good? saw some ID give solid surface.

Any other detail do i need to take note?

Just went for our 1st apt at HDB last week.

Came across some ID shops nearby and did some checking.

Can't decide which ID to work with.

Most are too eager to give promises and assurance... with some not able to answer questions directly

Wifey and I have decided not to rush but to take it slow on this reno thing.

The description not precise enough to protect yourself.

Kitchen cabinet-What material?Plywood?Compact sawdust?with handles?What handles?

L-Box- Inclusive of lights?Electrical wires?Charges for the electricians?And the length size of the L-BOX

HDB-Permit not required for your mention job

Cooker/Hood- What brand?

Paints-Not all the time they use as they describe

Dealing with Reno contractors can be very tricky. My advice is

1) To control on progressive payment

2)Demand quality work-be there most of the time to ensure job done according to what agreed upon

3) Be ready to 'advertise' them if they screw you up,with pictures if possible.This will make them careful with customers
