  1. Here's my experience on using P D doors. It looked nice and I thought it was worth paying for the good looks and the lack of a bottom rail. If my home was only used by my family , this door could last for years..Alas, during new year etc, I will have loads of relatives friends visiting and most of them close the door incorrectly. In less than two years of using this door, the plastic clips have been broken twice. I have paid for one repair..right now it is broken again. My patience has run out and I am looking to replace it with a normal bi-fold door.. Note that you cant possibly teach every kid, aunty, uncle on how to use this door unless you plan to conduct door closing lessons on your new year day to teach all of them ... Even if you teach them, It just takes one forgetful person to pull out the hidden piece before snapping the first piece in place and wala, your door needs repair!
  2. Hi Big Orange and Herbman, HDB finally got the main con to call the subcon who came by yesterday to fix and teach me how to change the water level.. Its all in the corner float mechanism. theres a red catch that must be released first (pushed out) and according to them (cos I couldnt see it) theres a white thingy right at the bottom of the tube that allows the tube to be pushed up and down. Its hard to explain, so its best to call HDB/ECTC if you need help. So far things are getting flushed although its at a cost of 50% more water used(4L to 6L per full flush)
  3. yep..looks like 9707 imho it isnt that good but I am hoping to raise the water volume to see if it can 1 flush clear everything 95 percent of the time..right now its like 1 flush can clear everything 75 per cent of the time... so its like using more water to save water...haiz
  4. BO, Did you get them to change it? They changed mine and now we have less residue problem.. Heh, however even tho residue problem is solved, sometimes i still need to flush 2 or 3 times because the water amount is small ..sighz..i am trying to get them to teach me how to increase the amount of water per flush becoz the new float mechanism is not easy to figure out (oso dont wanna try too hard in case I break the plastic mechanism) so my current situation has improved and worsened at the same time. The previous WC mostly needed 1 flush but when u think its clean..come back still got residue..whereas now I often need 2 flush to clear all with no residue coming back. sighz
  5. hmm B.O how come you are getting a new WC? is the HDB govt-issued one giving you residue problems?
  6. I dont know if they will do so or not, because they will have to send their staff (everyday or alternate days) to push back the carts, because everyone will just push back to LG but not the other way around. Hmm we should try asking fairprice too we could "play" both sides by claiming that the other one is "planning" to do so , muhahaha
  7. the coffeeshop at 219 has quite a few stalls changing hands, maybe the owner should get premier league soccer and 1 more tv screen hopefully we will have some good stalls soon, kinda missed the previous hokkien mee
  8. I agree with hihihi you would think HDB would have experience after designing so many flats..these bunch of architects who approved/designed this block is certainly among those who do not deserve their stable garmen job and increments/bonuses. so much inaccessiblity and lack of ergonomy compared with the older designs..not to menttiont the fact that some units do not have good ventilation with only a small window and maindoor as the only openings on 1 side and lots of windows on the other..a total lack of common sense in tropical building design that even school kids can do better.
  9. hehe gratz fellow 220c member, feel free to drop me a pm if you wanna see a reno'ed 5rm for reference. ie the headaches of the common bathroom doors, storeroom entrance hiding
  10. Hi 5 shor, I am blue blooded too..I think we are both 220C?
  11. It depends on your usage blurer..you can go here http://singapore-aircon.blogspot.com/ to find out if non-inverter is right for you. typically inverter will result in electricity savings but it can cost more up front.
  12. Quoting myself another side topic..I was thinking of getting scv's HD box when I move in (supposedly nicer images than their digital settop box) but then I heard that the HD box does not allow remote control for volume! z and if I connect HDMI cable form the HD box..I cant get teletext.. just read from Hardwarezone that you can get volume remote control using HDMI on the SCV HD set-top box but still no teletext.
  13. good luck on your reno blurer23 from your blk 220C neighbour
  14. hey folks FYI, if you drive and park on the double yellow lines along the access roads, please be careful... my ID just kena saman yesterday.. I think 100 bucks..so please be careful and warn your ID/contractors too.. I was a split second away from the saman but my ID "saved" me coz he saw his car kena and mine was the 2 cars away which allowed me time to take lift, run down and press my key remote just as the guy was keying in..
