I received a quote for changing tiles.Any experienced here pls check is it ok?Mine is a 3 room flat.I just need to hack old tiles in living room and need to overlay laminate in both bedrooms Details as attached Rgds Biju

So you mean contractor can remove the pop up tiles and do overlay the new tiles without hacking rest of floor? means the hacking charge will be saved...! rgds

Dear Missysonialin Thank you for the heads up.I have to hack the whole flooring coz its poped up one side.Today a contractor came and advice me to redo whole room flooring (living+2 bd room).He says if he start hacking one side automatically will pop up other side also which i am not sure.He estimated $4.5k+ for living room and $8k for whole house.I think he is quite high from what you showed me...He said hacking license from hdb cost additional $300 rgds

I was planning to overlay laminate But recently I saw the tiles started poping up on floor.So what I need to got to a contractor to remove the tiles1st or I can go a flooring company like supreme or evorich directly that they can give a quote for both removing the old tiles? Any experienced person pls advice...

I did kitchen and toilet full with a laminated cabinet with solid top,plaster the whole house including hacking half of wall sep kitchen and dining,wiring whole house and painting whole house with ICI paint.My id gave me hood and hob+ sink as foc. Total cost $19500.So it can happen if ur living and bedroom tiles and windows are okey.I didnot tile my kitchen just cement plaster and used washable paint.1st you need to look at your house and decide what necessary.It is not good to spend so much money for 3 room cos we may need to move out once family get bigger....

Got my final bill which is lower than expected due to some changes from original quote I was very stressed and worried in the beginning after hearing many stories about many people in this forum.But it ended very well and I am so happy about it. I thanked her for valuable advices and recommendations given to save my $$ from the beginning. I will give her EXCELLENT for the commitment,responsibility and understanding shown for this entire project....

My reno was started on 2nd week of sept and suppose to finish next week according to schedule.Everything is on track and to date only kitchen cabinet's back splash and final paint touch up left.Till date everything done according to schedule.I was suppose to pay 95% of quote according to contract by now but still around 15% remains.She said need to settle this l only after completion of all jobs. Mine is 3I corner,I did kitchen and bathrooms full.Then plastering of all walls and full electrical rewiring with all new lights aircon point and a fan point.My kitchen cabinet is 18 ft and I got all the things free as I said earlier.I didn't find any of them inferior in quality .They gave me a slim hood and temp glass hob in package which I had to top up $60. My friends visited the site gave me very good feedback about the workmanship includes my agent who recommended me another ID.He even asked me for her card. I had 5 quote and they were placed 3 from top.I decided to choose them because their quote was well detailed without anything hidden and mostly picked up all my calls without fail or responded immediately.I see them disciplined I paid $300 as deposit and paid so far around 83% with a very little to finish.I feel sad for those had some experience.But my consultant was a very responsible person and responsive too.I do not know it may vary from diff person in same firm. I did kitchen and bathrooms+18 ft laminated cabinet with solid top+ plastering and painting of whole house. Quote >$16k and $1.6k for electrical works. So far I am happy about them and definitely everybody's experience may not be the same I will come back after settling final bill.... You judge and comment............

Total I had 5 quote including 2 from contractors.I choose them due to very competitive pricing quote and well detailed in first quote itself even though it was not the cheapest.And I really loved their kitchen cabinet design and give me sink ,hood&hob,dish rack and a pull out rack as FOC while finalizing after neg. They really could manage everything within my very tight budget .They started doing on 9 th and suppose to end 8th oct .So far very good and on track.Hope it is my lasting opinion too...

Sorry , is it 18ft u r saying (Bottom 18ft, top 18ft or bottom only)? Solid top recommend u take good brand. Corian top ard $110-$140 no I was planning to have 9 ft each bottom and top.... And to make a 9 ft solid top.... overlay laminate is a good budget alternative....now they come w 10yr -15 yr warranty shd b quite ok.. just worried does it pop up after some times if u wan to fix downlights etc... no plan to make any extra light points.But planing change light fittings only

Kitchen cabinet is ard $90 ~ $140 pfr. Kitchen top what u intend to use? What I am planing is to make a better cabinet with solid top but size keep to 18sqf to save some. Don't recommend to overlay unless you want to consider what I had done for my kitchen and toilets floor. what have you done?? Anybody can let me know how much app: cost to do rewiring of 3I living and kitchen only????

?? What you intent to do??? Kitchen cabinet, wardrobe, vanity cabinet, I just want kitchen cabinet only.Cos i don't intend to renovate any other room 1. Overlay floor and wall(toilet) tiles may be I can do overlaying of laminate in living room to cut cost.right ?? save at least few hundreds??? but overlaying kitchen and toilet very dif I feel cos its very old( those original cond with 1/2 of wall white tiles)(25 year old flat) Came up with this budget cos see many advt I offer kitchen and 2 toilets renovation for resale flats offer ~$9k 4. Paint yourself never done before

actually the current wall tiles are half the wall and I don,t have the plan to do tile back kitchen wall..............

Dear all I would like to check with u all about this I would like to do the following for kitchen and one toilet and one bathroom(3I corner resale) renovate the kitchen,toilet&bathroom but the kitchen need to plaster back only-no wall tiling plaster the living room wall hacking and put homo tiling for living room rewiring the kitchen and living room fixing cronies for living room changing windows and and main door grill painting whole house Can do all this within $13k??

Moderate means similer to IKEA.I checked many place all have only those paintings.Have you came across any shops selling photographic images..??
