  1. Just caution on Molecule clocks. I dunno the price range but I have two friends who got their clocks from Molecule and it has been about a year and both clocks got abit of problem liao. One got a cuckoo bird clock and the tweety is getting tempremental in coming out of its hole. And the other friend's clock is getting inaccurate. Worldangel, your clocks are very unique!!
  2. Wah.. yours so cheap! I got my 7 ft at 2.4k nett leh.. It was based on their package and add some more shelves and got soft closing system for the doors. hmmm....
  3. Sigh.. my feature wall color is supposingly a medium blue/teal tone.. but now it is GREEN!! Bright school uniform green! The color code was wrong again.. today they are re-painting the wall.. hopefully it will be right this time.. sigh...
  4. Next step is carpentry but we have not even confirmed the designs. So it looks like moving in date is getting further and further. sigh.. also dunno why so many delays. But at least we are productive in terms of wardrobe selection for the master bedroom. We choose Alumix and got 7ft wardrobe at $2,400 including the partition. They need about 2 weeks to come up with the design and 1 day to built so hopefully this will be up fast fast. Henry designed the kitchen for us. He recommended a red worktop and since I asked about colored glass backing he chose red in the design draft. I was quite taken aback by the shock of colors. But got good comments from friends. What do you think? I am still deciding if I should change the glass backing to frosted instead: We wanted a spacious feel from the dining to living room so opted for a pole system for the TV console. It will have a 360 swivel so when we dine we can watch the TV too. Dunno will turn out nice or not.. Henry designed something else for us to compare: Dun like leh.. machiam got extra wall erected. I want this: (Source: KNQ associate - http://www.homerejuvenation.com.sg/2009/06...juvenated.html)
  5. The colors do not really show well in the photos. It is alot lighter in the photos. Bluish grey in dining room (with flash): Bluish grey in dining room (without flash): Greenish grey in the two bedrooms: The greenish grey color is really interesting. We went to the room in one of the evening to see the colors and with the low light streaming in from the window, we identified green, grey and blue colors on the walls! I love the confused color!
  6. I was really nervous on the wall color choices cos it was the first time I choose stronger colors then the usual orchid white, lilic white, etc white tone.. I choose 3 different colors altogether. Still have a feature wall in the living room not painted yet. That is the boldest color among all the color choices. A medium blue tone that (hopefully) has a tinge of green. I hope it turns out the teal color that I wanted. There was abit of hiccup with the paints. Henry missed out the bluish grey color for the bedrooms and only bought colors for the feature wall in Living room and greenish grey color for living, dining and yard. And the painting uncle started painting the bedrooms first so when I arrived in the room and saw the color for the first time, I ignored my HTB who was exclaiming "wah.. so nice right, blue blue one.. so relaxing" and went to inspect the color code on the paint tin can. And I was right! It was the color for the living, dining and Yard. Dunno how why he saw bluish tone when it was obviously greenish! But I like how it looks in the room and thought maybe it will not be so nice in the halls outside so we told Henry nvm but got him to exchange the rest of the greenish grey color for bluish grey color to paint the rest of the house. So all turns out well and I am happy. My advice to people choosing wall paint is that you really don't know what you get till it is on the wall especially when you are going for stronger colors. So cross your finger and pray. Hee.. But do experiment with colors cos it really changes the feel of the house and evokes the emotions you may want to express thru your decor. The house was white and cheery and bright before. Now with the new colors, it feels much "cooler" and relaxing. Really feel the differences.
  7. Thought of doing that too. But scared the dining table will be too big so the chairs will be too close to the cabinet. But definitely one option we will consider once the furnitures are in. 6 ft storage cabinet in dining is at $650. I think it is a good price.
  8. Tiling done. Aircon up. Now doing painting. And after that, the most grueling part of reno - carpentry. We have yet to confirm what we want - design, color, etc.. I thought reno was quite a breeze until the carpentry starts. This is where the slightest measurement makes a big difference, slightest misalignment makes a design work doable or not. **** stress loh.. Me and htb both very chin chai one.. so end up we keep changing our decisions whenever the carpenter says can or cannot do. We have a 6ft storage cabinet at our dining room cos no storeroom. Initially wanted 9ft but carpenter says our space will be greatly compromised cos the cabinet will look HUGE. So cut down.. to 6 ft. bUt where will my shoes go!!!!??? Ask you guys for opinion ah.. is it gross to have the shoe cabinet close to dining room? But of cos the shoes willbe in their boxes and in the cabinet so I suppose wun be smelly smelly la.. I am in such dilemma~~~~
  9. I know The Trumps. oppo my house only. WAh.. can fetch so high price ah.. my house also same size (958sq ft) and I bought same time as your friend in Apr 09 at $630k. I know the last transacted price for my house size is at $715k. Was asking my Htb if we should sell! hehe.. confirm make money too.. but we bought it to stay so the price flunctuation does not really affect us so much. Thanks for the advice anyway! Though I have to say if I have waited I will never be able to buy any house now! And be in time for my wedding next year. So sometime it is fate also la.. But if buy for investment I think I will really wait out for opportunity.
  10. Hi Fellow Henner! No leh.. never discuss leh.. better to discuss right? Will speak to htb tonight. WAh?? Painting quote dun include all the materials to paint? I dunno this leh.. must verify.. let you know again..
  11. I think my kitchen top bottom should be less than 30 ft. Not sure cos the quote was estimated based on 30 ft and Henry says my kitchen should be smaller than that.
  12. Ahhhh.. the long awaited baby photos.. The 6weeks old - 1st smile capture just melts my heart.. SOOOOOO CUTTTEEEEEEEEE LOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....... *breathe* Your common toilet very nice leh!!
  13. My timeline is quite stretched cos no hurry to move so henry is also quite relaxed in finishing stuff. After hacking we took a week break cos I was still hunting for my aircon supplier and after that we took a while again to confirm our electrical works. So though we started in 14th Sep we have only done up to the tiling so far. Supposed to meet Henry soon for his designs on carpentry these few days. Will update again.
  14. I dunno the standard cos first house reno so nothing to benchmark but I thought Henry's workers are quite neat. During hacking: During tiling: Finishing tiling and electrical/ceiling work:
  15. Master bathroom: Hacking (pardon my darling's tush) Wet works Tiles partially up (just completed tiling today so haven took photos yet)
  16. Common Bathroom: Hacking (can't open the door so took partial photo): Cementing and wet works: Tiles up:
  17. Ok.. finally uploaded my photos on photobucket.. my well used and beloved fujitsu is struggling to keep up with my minimal emails and surf net activities after 7 years (can you imagine I am still using a Pentium II machine???)... time to get a new com soon! I mini sized all the hacking/tiling photos cos most of the photos are taken at night so can't really capture the details anyway. Was really fun taking photos in the dark. Kind of scary fun. Will take more detailed photos when I have the chance. Will start with my kitchen: After hacking Sand comes: Tiles up (doing overlay for wall tiles):
  18. Thought of that before.. black and white but after a while dun like the idea of having black in Kitchen. Maybe see too many fresh, bright kitchen on AT. So jealous of those Ang mo's houses all kitchen so big and got window view one..
  19. Nice nice! WHere got small??? Very spacious to me liao... SIgh.. wait till I load my kitchen photo..
  20. Okok.. I go upload some photos tonight. Camera at home.. but I have been lazy la.. hehe.. only took a few photos here and there...
  21. This one not Simon's kitchen. Sorry for the confusion. This picture from apartment therapy as well. I agree with you on the out of balance thingy but could be useful if owner wants alot of storage. My floor is white. And wall tiles as well. Cabinet I prob will be choosing white as well. And I am thinking of getting white solid surface top. But Henry says difficult to maintain. He suggests using red solid surface top but like weird weird to prepare food on red surface leh.. what you think? So thinking maybe can explore wooden color to give some warmth to the kitchen. My kitchen is really small - just a tiny L shape in a squarish room prob 2.5m each side only.. so using alot of white to make the space looks bigger.
  22. Inspired by Simon's beautiful kitchen, I like to have some pop of colors against my white wall and floor tiles as well as white cabinets in my kitchen. Henry says don't have orange glass backing so may have to settle for red. Thinking of Orange cos it goes well with Teal in the living room and I am thinking of using soft grey wall in Dining and orange for accent. May bring the orange accents to the Living room as well. Oh well.. still all thoughts in the air right now: Swee bo?
  23. For my second bedroom, I will continue to use soft grey for the wall but thinking of using Yellow for accent instead. To give the house abit more colors! Inspirations:
