  1. Hi everybody, Thought I'd like to have an opinion here. What sort of finishings should I use on my balcony railings, which are visible from a long-distance away. If normal gloss paint, this would be quite common, and the selection of colors would be key. Or is there something called metallic-color paint, which, after applying onto the iron railings, would make them look like stainless steel ? What about stones, etc ? Anything I can 'stick' on top of the railings instead of the usual painting work ? Thank you.
  2. I would be happy if someone can indicate a 'probable' place where I can get these panels. But should I go to the place and there is none, there is no responsibility on the part of the person,.... no worries,... Kindly advise, thank you,.......
  3. I am certainly hoping for some advice here. Please help me. Thank you.
  4. Hi everybody, ..... I need to purchase wall panels, probably measuring 50cm by 100cm, or bigger with figures of angels carved onto the front. Anybody knows when I can get this please ? Thanks in advance,....
  5. Hi everybody, it's good to see everybody back again,..... I need to purchase wall panels, probably measuring 50cm by 100cm, or bigger with figures of angels carved onto the front. Anybody knows when I can get this please ? Thanks in advance,....
  6. Pinpetter, thank you,...... but are there any nice ones and suitable for wet areas ? After all, the Kitchen and Bathroom are qute wet..... Any pictures too ?
  7. Hi everybody, Would like to seek your opinions on the types of lightings that we can use for the Kitchen and Bathrooms. We always see postings of lightings for Living Rooms, Hallways, foyers, etc,... but seldom on lightings for Kitchens and Bathrooms. So, any ideas that we can share here please ? I'm sure many here would like to know too ! Thanks in advance,......
  8. Thank you very much for your input, guys,......
  9. 8% higher than what was originally quoted. But I gessed things are subjective. Hey, never knew all kcs must be of plywood base. I saw many high-gloss ones made of chipboards.
  10. Hmm, just came across this interesting thread.... My carpentar recommended using plywood as the carcass(body) of my kitchen cabinets, he claimed plywood is stronger than chipboard, and willnot be damaged by water in years to come. I agreed, and paid a slightly higher price too. The doors of my cabinet is glass (I'm making the glossy-type). What happens when that plywood base starts warping later ?
  11. Clockwork, thank you. I intend to choose the fluorescent lights ! As for cleaning, thought I'd just push the vacuum cleaner's suction tube into the trough, and suck-up the dust. Shouldn't be much of a hassle, right ? Of course, I'd have to lift-up the vacuum cleaner, or use a longer suction tube.
  12. Clockwork, thank you, ohh, I see, it's called Cove Lighting,.... never knew the actual name - thanks again for pointing out. But why do I not see many people doing it, I mean in the homes ? Is it due to the fact that dust will collect badly and really that difficult to clean/maintain ? Well, I would really want to know before I commit myself,.......
  13. Hi all, I have some pictures of the ceiling made at a freind's place. Thought I would like to do the same thing. The rounded ceiling looks unique, the centre is actually a light trough, and blue-colored fluorescent lights are installed inside the ceiling. concealed. When lit, the blue light gets 'bounced' off the top, and reflected onto the rest of the Living Room. The ambience created is truly, well,....... indescribable. Following are the photos :- Hoping for your kind opinions. Thank you,......
  14. Just read this thread on WIW. ...very good infos. Hmm,.... never occured to me that a WIW could be hot and humid inside. I intend to make a WIW : 2 rows of cabinets, 4.5 feet each, with a walking space in-between the cabinets of approx 3 feet in width. Intend to make a sliding glass door to close off the WIW. At the other end of the WIW is the toilet, thus when I get out of the toilet, I will access the WIW immediately. After the WIW, will be my MBR. Any comments on the above layout please ?
