Hi, l would like to know, is it a must to have cooker hood? What are the benefits of it??? My mum have it n never even use it at all. When l ask, she say-dont know, ppl are using it so l follow the trend. Ppl say-it suppose to suck up smoke but after awhile, ppl tends to be lazy to clean it up n hardly used it so l see no point of even having it ... am l wrong??? Can someone point it out for me
-
Yes, this is true. Relocate it is not allow. Any contractor who do it will get fine and demerit point, that is what happen to my in-law place.Years ago, they relocate it just abit n sold off the flat n hdb came to find out and saman the contractor of $2k with 6 demerit point n after such long years, the contractor get nail down my in-law n ask them to pay but my in-law dont want it coz the house been sold ages ago. There will still ppl who will do it somehow but the chances are slim ... Its not worth it!!!
-
hahaaaa .... Well said, somehow l kinda agreed with rendell. But it all depend on us - how we want it. There's pros n cons. What u can do is ask the contractor for 2yrs warranty on all that instead. Usually 1 yrs warranty. but remember not all contractor agree on 2yrs so it all depends ....

Oh defianately ... and like chronograph said - OMG!!! its quite alot but we are in a tight budget so will see which gonna drop price slightly or throw more freebies l guess. And from there, we will narrow down to 2 quotations. The things that made it expensive is - The Toilet PIPIng. My hubby does not like the piping to be seen in both toilets and would wanna to cover it up n in the kitchen-it usually will cover it with cabinets right but what about in the toilets??? Most of id/contractor suggested seal with concrete wall/simen n fill it with tiles but we do not want it-the reason why we think for future what if there's leaking n hdb wanna inspect-we will have to hack it off n that cost $$$ and The second was cover with wood cabinet like in the kitchen but that also-we dont want. Third cover with Acrylic or solid glass that could be open n that is expensive n are searching for a cheaper solution to that and are searching in this forum for some answers or solution. All this came to our attention at my in-law neighbour house 2mths ago as hdb suspect leaking and was told to hack off so they could do inspection n not able to claim it frm HDB and they said Hdb piping are not suppose to be seal for any reason but ppl this days are sealing it up coz of sore eyes seeing the pipe n blabla ..... l'm not sure if anyone of u out there done it b4 - covering up ur toilet piping, maybe could give us some suggestions .... Yeah, l will post the quotation here for advise later hehe ... Wish me Good Luck for a reasonable price this weekend Thank You!!!

Tks ppl for the reply ... now, l know how to arrange timing

Hi ppl, l would like to know how long does contractor/Id people takes to have actual measurement upon viewing the house??? l have given them the floorplan but they insists on viewing to see if they able to do it n take actual measure on the house n watsoever n will finalise the actual price due to what we wanted. 1hr will that be enough for them? Cause l have narrow down to 5 firm-and l dont want them to bump to one another, how can that be avoided? We have from 12pm-5pm to let the contractor to view with owner permission. Will they get mad if we dont take up their offer on the spot, will they charge us for their time??? Any advice?

Yeah, thats lovely!!! Ohh, l been there. Not much choices or maybe not to my liking l guess. l'm looking for something different-simple yet classic n elegant like l seen in some home renovation magazine...Maybe my expectation is too high l guess well, will have to search whole s'pore for it. Where's ur location? l could dropby n see what in store..Pm me for the add

hehehe Mr.Wong, u sure do know about lightning l dont mind paying for chandelier if it truly caught me eyes but not more than $3k But then again for a wall lamp, my heart is so painful to pay for such price and my budget is less than $600 per pcs. Yeah, u probably right but l do want it maybe l should source for cheaper one l guess. Is there a possibility u happen to know where the shop that ur fren saw it? l wanna snoop my eyes in there
-
Hi, l am searching for wall lamp as seen here ... got this from US site. l am looking for atleast similar to this or could have more choices from lightning shops but as our hunting begins-we then realise that they dont have much of a choice to choose from n mostly are just plain simple square without pattern that usually install or use in toilet walls-there are too many shops selling wall lights/Chandelier/Bathroom light but what about wall lamp??? etc are ..... Have any of u came across this when buying ur lights??? Dont have to be the same but a range variety of them. We tried hunting at Balestier as it has a variety light shops but cant find it except for one shop that we found but gosh! l almost painted when salesman said its $1893 and lowest that can go $1790nett (no more bargain) l need three wall lamp n that will cost me BIG TIME l would appreciate if any of u could assist n lemme know the shop available so we can ambush there.

My mother in-law bought exactly the same as seen Chinese N.Y 2009 in Nilai 3 Malaysia : http://www.google.com.sg/imgres?imgurl=htt...=image&cd=1 Sorry, l dont know how to post picture n be seen in here. The standard big usual carpet we see on shop/bazaar dunno the measurement. After keeping visiting my in-law n kept luking at it-Alamak, l should have bought it aswell bangwall.regret regret!!! It look BEAUTIFUL. Its cheaper coz its in RM so its all worth it! U can get the same in heritage for a price of $1.8k but in Nilai my in-law paid $950 ringgit notti.gif Plus u can bargain bargain bargain till u find reasonable to pay for dancingqueen. l intend to go there in March to shop till my heart out for lots of things n u should too... there are so many things to buy n choose from with a little patience of cause. Just an in4 to share with u all. Nilai 3- where it at? It before going to Sepang (if u are into F1/MotorGP) u will see the road sign and 1hr and half hr from KL (l tink) So basically u will pass Nilai 1st then sepang then KL but must turn to the right lane lah of coz. Nilai 3- Largest Warehouse Shopping Centre NILAI lies approximately 75km south of Kuala Lumpur via the North South Expressway in the state of Negri Sembilan. Nilai 3, a recently developed district within Nilai, has become quite well-known among locals for its low-price shopping - what locals term as 'wholesale prices', or something that is priced at a fraction of what you would have to pay if in the city. Nilai 3 is perched on a hilltop and is entirely made up of single-storey warehouses offering a wide variety of goods ranging from furniture and artificial flowers to porcelain and car accessories as well as tidbits and knicknacks. Textile dealers occupy quite a large section of the township, selling various type of local and imported fabric at low prices. Clothings too are quite cheap here and this is probably why Nilai 3 has caught on well with the middle and low-income earners. Furniture dealers have also set up shop here selling anything from ironwood and rosewood furniture or cast iron and terracotta garden benches and tables. The wood furniture come mostly from Indonesia and Vietnam, but there also some from Thailand and Myanmar according to some of the dealers there. Also check out clay and stonewware products. Car lovers should not miss the chance of getting their cars souped up for a fraction of the cost at the many car accessory shops here. Check for best prices. If you are a homemaker, you will like Nilai 3 - there are many shops selling kitchen utensilsand you can find practically anything here - from saucepans to forks and spoons! Everything under one roof!!! Nilai 3 is located on a hilltop so you can't miss it. There are plenty of signboards (just follow the direction pointed by the L-shape arrow). How to maintain shaggy carpet ~ Vaccum it weekly so it would not collect dust n clean and put it under sun regularly to maintain it color. Do not wash ur carpet with water as it will soak on the bottom carpet (even though it may look dry but are still damp underneath) and inviting our little living animals to have their nest resting there unsure Hope this helps!!!

What goes well with Goldfish?? Any kind right? l wanna colorful fishies swimming in my tank- is there any fish that l soud avoid when having goldy? Yeah, gonna hunt for bigger tank for my baby arowanna later. l'm fully prepared for the feeding n stuffs if l'm keeping arowana But once l had confident n wanted to have arowanna n put them together wt other fishies-will my baby eat the poor little fishies??? Well eric, Doing a traditional Zen dont come cheap. Me too loves that concept but budget aswell so l'm doing minimal as possible-contemporary zen instead. They are two different things traditional & contemporary. Since the i/d told u to source urself for contractor for slight cheaper deal-why not engaged direct contractor instead. Save u alot of $$$ trust me. Basically, u already know how u want it right? What u can do is-if u like the design that the particular id had shown u-perhaps u could use the ideas n tell the contractor but if u unsure then u can buy their design/ideas from them.. as far as l know market price is btwn $100-$250. l'm meeting up a contractor intro by forumer this weekend for quotation, if u interested Pm me ok. Best of luck!
