  1. I was there during lunchtime, and what was pitched to me was they havent gotten round to updating (as in marking up) the prices yet, but will be doing so soon. So make of it what you will. I suppose the prices will still remain till end of this week.

I dont know about the prices last week, but the bigger rugs (1.6x2.3) cost from 80-170.

All the smaller pieces are wysiwyg, ranging from 6-65

Quite a good deal i must say, even at the current prices.

wow... thanks for the update np73

  2. Those looking for carpets/rugs, their promotion is still on but indefinite.

Rush down from Clementi during lunch time and bought a grey rug.

Very good price but quality wise will update again after 3 months. :)

If you not too particular about the quality, its a tempting deal.

Did the person say when is the last day they will pitch their sales @ the warehouse?

so its still till 5.30 everyday?

  3. Thank you for your replies. =)

Haiz... hubby not free to go down today...

Will probably drop by one of these days....

    Is the Sales really good?

if i am not wrong the sale ended today!!

anyone knows where got such sales again?? been desperately looking for really cheap rugs now

  4. I used to have quite a sever eczema on my face as well. I tried alot of western medication but they only give advices on watching the type of food u eat and etc. afterwhich they will give u steroids to apply on ur face, i didnt use it as it will only thin the skin we have.

Eventually i went to a TCM @ queensway area.. there is this ABC market nearby its quite famous.. can ask the elders... they should know where is it.

i drank some bitter medicine for 3-8 mths and i am completely healed.

    Good luck..

  5. Hi lazydevil;

you may visit www.tenkeiworld.com to view TEP 830 G hob and is retail at $469.00 :) As for the Oven FD 61.1 ICE , i could check for you for the stock as is Discont soon , Great choice on this Oven as glass look matchs well with most colour cabinet :)

Oh almost forget , you plan to put your oven below the stove ? or on the cabinet ? Must leave some space if the fridge is near the oven as it may sweat the fridge .

Cos if the oven is below the stove (cos the stove is glass) is not so advisable as it may effect the hob :(

sorry for the late reply as busy lately

    Kitchen Matters

    Hi Kitchen MAtters..

No worries... i have decided to get FD 61.1 ICE. DO you have a quote to give me? I am getting quote about $799.

My oven is inside a cabinet just beside a fridge.. is it not advisable even if there is a wooden partition between them??

And thanks again for the help.

  6. For FD 61.1ICE is going to discon't soon and the difference are as follows;

FD61.1ICE is 56 litres as for FZ62C.1IX is 58 litres

Both comes with 6 cooking programs . Tangential ventilation triple layer glass door , 1 tray and 2 grids BUT the differnce are :

*** FZ62C.1IX is auto cut off ( it means that once alarm or the timer end it will cut off the temperature and the whole oven operation will stop ) BUT for FD 61.1ICE it only comes with a minute timer ( it means it will only alarm u but you have to off the oven yourselves - In short to say it will not cut off the operation )

*** FZ62C.1IX comes with 3 self clean panels ( left , right , back of the cavity. ) tis will absorb the oil while doing grilling , it will only minimize your cleaning as the bottom of the oven you still need to clean . And after some time you need to change the panels ( i think it cos $100 plus ) once it drills oil cos the panel is full of oil and need to be change ( cannot wash as it will spoilt.)

I find that both oven got its pro and cons , most will chose FZ62 but for design look i think FD61.1ICE look sleek :) or you may also consider Electrolux EOB31002X Oven @ $699.00 ? I went to the store just now and saw the oven look sleek too :) As Electrolux also comes with 3 burnes glass top :)

*** As DZG 830 G does not have stock now as for the shippment theres no advise and FZ62C.1IX also no stock and shippment to be advise and lastly FD61.1ICE discont soon. You may also consider TEP830 Glass hob by Tenkei , is a new brand on the market and their oven is very basic too . TEK 62 at $459.00 ( 6 cooking programs , stainless steel oven )

btw wheny ou need all the products :)

For oven actually with or with auto cut off timer is ok as now i notice that home owners dont use the cut off time as they prefer to use their own cooking time :) as the temperature will be maintain and you could do multi rack .

For self clean panels if you grill often is a plus but some home owners find that after some time the panels gt patchs on it and doesnt look nice on it .

    kitchen matters

    Hi Kitchen Matters,

Thanks for the great help and really informative write up.

i will need the oven by the early next month. I know its abit rush but do u happen to have any pictures of TEP830 Glass hob and any price to quote? For oven wise i think i will still get FD61 cos it looks better.. Wonder if u have any price to quote or any stocks there?

  9. Hi to all EM home owner, sorry to hijack this thread.

I'm currently hunting for a EM.

I'm planning to have 3 units in the 2flr for all bed rooms and 3 units on the lower flr.

Just wondering if anyone manage to have 2 compressor installed in your EM?

What is the requirement like? (eg. To have the whole house rewired and change a new circuit breaker) Or HDB simply doesn't allow 2 compressor installed in a EM?

Your experience is this area is greatly appreciated!

    Cheers.

(PS: I did try searching for similar post but haven't been successful is getting the answer)

While hunting for a air con contractor she mentioned to me that HDB doesnt allow 2 compressors to be installed in certain EMs. what i did was sending my floorplan and air con positions to the contractor and they will advise to see how many compressors needed for your house.

it largely depends on how much energy/ electricity has been channelled to your area.

  10. Hi lazydevil,

POSB has a promotional home loan package - fixed rate of 1.99% for the first 3 yrs - condition - to get mortgage insurance from them (AVIVA). Lock-in period - 3 yrs. However, no penalty incurred for any early prepayment - min $10K - as long as there is still bal by the end of 3rd yr.

We thought it's quite a good deal (for fixed rate) after comparing UOB, OCBC and Maybank.

    Hope the above is helpful.

wow this is really good. RHB offers me 3% fixed rate.... hmmmmm

i think i might give posb a call soon. thanks.

I just got my ID from INTRA design.. i tried calling contractors but i decide against having ah soon or yeak cos i wanted to see some prospective designs and wanted the ID to handle all the logistic stuff for me. Nevertheless the best starting point are the books, websites and etc.. to know what you want (theme ) for your house is most important. then u can work around ur selected theme for the house.

The problem for me now is tile selection... i didnt know what tiles to choose... many many patterns.. but there is only so much i can choose.

  11. Hi Hi,

Our bank loan has been approved! :)

We will be signing away our "life" on Mon! :(

So hopefully Mon can submit application to HDB. :)

    HOORAY!!!!

    Hello mslt,

Can disclose which type of loan are u applying? is it reno loan ?

and which bank did u apply the loan from. . so far from my research RHB seems to be offering the lowest rate in the market.

  12. Hmmm... The old school parquet is glossy de.. and I happened to see my neighbour turning her glossy parquet to matt ones.. and the shade is different too ..

i met my ID over the weekend and she recommend me matt ones instead of glossy ones....

but it seems those old school parquet (glossy versions) seems to have the kind of more lasting feel...

  13. I think it is quite reasonable. The awning and awning false ceiling easily cost your around 3k. Do u mean varnishing parquet? If yes that will be around 1k plus as well.

That means your whole house grilling cost less than 2k.

    6k should be quite ok.

hmmm.. thanks for the advice Chronograph.

for my parquet.. its considered as staining of the parquet to walnet colour only.. i dont think its varnish. I was quite surprised to see a $6k increase in my quotation though.. but thanks for the clarification.

Initially i wanted to do a laminate glass trellis for my balcony (garden feel) , but after many consultations it seems that HDB wont allow. Wonder if any one did it for their home?

Does any ppl with balcony has a different setting than ceremic roofing awning.

  14. Hi Guys,

I would like to ask for the normal cost of awning, false ceiling below awning, grilling up of the whole house (EM), staining of the parquet for staircase and 3 bedrooms.

My ID quoted me approx $6k for the construction of the above and is wondering that its kinda steep .. does anyone has a breakdown for the above items?

Thanks in advance for any replies..
