    Understand what u meant cos been thru the phase when I got my first flat. Marriage and Reno very shiong and it's never about 2 people thingy.. Often it's the family's comments that make us .... Sigh.... Anyway, bro, your Reno is going on smoothly and will be coming to end soon:) so cheer up! Thks god u got this ID instead of the first one u almost wanted to sign! So u are blessed and lucky afterall:) My colleague almost wanted to sign up with them too but I prompted her to read the comments. She just went thru a messy divorce and I don't think she can take another heart attack

    Dear guys,

    Understand that renovation is not 100%, there bound to be some hipcups and changes gg along the way. This depends on how the ID communicate with you how they actually offered their service and rectification. Are they able to give solution right on the spot and not pushing or giving excuses "Sry, cannot be done already drawn the drawings" , "sry, i already built it already cannot be done".. so instead of pushing or simply brush it off, they need to think of a solution to solve it. And this is what Katy does, she offered her solution and rectification and did not have that kind of pushing or "huh, i do liao le" attitude. She is very forth comming to offer me ideas and solution and didn't mind at all. I feel this is how a professional should be, da house that we are renovating is suppose to be a life long or rather we are living in it so it must be as perfect , as customise, as comfortable and pleasing to us and family. Sometimes ID may not see our views and it is very important that they stand in our views and shoe to see and accept.

    House renovating is a very worrying task to do, i need to please my wife, my family and my pocket. Furthermore, with all the things coming together, wedding,phototaking and career it make it worse and added up to the stress level. Any mistake or wrong in any part of the phase will be an big impact on me, therefore my mentatily is always "ask a favour" from da service provider instead of that kind of "i pay money u better do the work" which hurts the relationship i feel or make it very mono, one way. Although, i agree that sometimes people will take advantage to you because u do just that, but i feel the world is round ,what goes around comes around.

    Don't think u will need to forfeit your deposit. I remember Henry telling me that as long as the date of the reno has yet to be confirmed or set, he will return the deposit to owners if they feel not comfortable. But he also said that must be reasonable lah, don't reno going to start tomorrow then today u sudden say u want to pull out everything. Perhaps u can call to tell him that u want to pull out and see what he says?

    oh no... i just signed with ID Note too... am not too pleased also...

    got several add-ons here & there, and the quotes are ridiculous lor... i looked back at my other contractor quotes also cheaper... when i ask them to relook, they challenge me that can't take item by item. :furious:

    so disappointed. after paying deposit, they say give me reno schedule. until now, i haven't even seen anything... so hurry collect my cheque, 1 wk later still no schedule. poor follow up, dun like to chase...

    worst, tell them i got budget constraint yet tell me 'dun do also can, up to you lor...' so sarcastic. if i have more $$, of course, i whole hse do. but all these come only after i have sign the quote... :~

    i'm now contemplating to forfeit my deposit and find another contractor. anybody know how can i get back my deposit? since they haven't even started work.

    Hi Shaggydog, not too sure if u got the name correctly. If u r refering to You Long Zi, the one from Geylang, he doesn't charge 5 digits for house audit. I got him to select date for my first hse house moving. He charged $50 for the date selection. Colleagues went to him to select child's name and it's $100 with quite a no of selection. I enquired about the charge for 4-room hse audit before, it's about $500 - $600. But I didn't engage him in the end.

    I understand your good intention to share your contacts in the forum. Don't worry, if your master is good, she will bound to have endless customers in the Q. Words of mouth recommendation is a more powerful tool/influential than u can imagine. There's no reason for you to get so worked up and defensive. Like godloveyou mentioned, there's bound to have 'opposition' somehow. We just have to take all comments directed to us with a pinch of salt. No need to feel so upset right? Life is short. U have shared your personal encounter and your wish is fulfilled. What's more important is to enjoy your quality time with your family. U have made your point and whether the readers believe or not is not within our control. As long as your master continues to help others who need help and fulfilled their dreams, she will get recognition in no time. :thumbs up:

    Bepgof, I will miss u. Thanks for all your advices. U have helped me a lot in term of analysing the loan issues when I was torn between HDB and Bank loan for my resale last yr. Also, I enjoyed reading your little comments be it on Fengshui, loan and some common sense answers which others might not 'dare' to comment it directly. And some of your answers are so funny that I burst out laughing while reading it after a hard day at work.     I am indeed very happy and feel very proud that my children bring glory to our family! This is especially when others have been 'looking down' on them because they came from a broken family. I remembered my second son had to take time off and skipped lessons to fetch his late father after his chemo session. It was really a tough time for this 2nd son who had to juggle his time between his study and caring for his sick father during his first year.

    When you become parents, you will understand how I feel right now. :D

    Yes..I fully understand... Don't say 1st class hons lah... I think If mine just need to get a pass, I already super proud liao...

    My house renovation completed...

    Left curtains, which will be installed this Saturday.

    Waiting to move in officially, but FSM says these 2 lunar months not good to do. Official move in date gonna be early September! So long!

    Think everyone in the group has their own reno blog except for me. Too lazy to write or update. Haha

    Great to hear that! Now it's already July so quite fast u will enjoy your home sweet home:) Use this period to buy the accessories to decorate your hse... New bedsheet sets to set the mood ?! :dribble: Some things are worth waiting leh!! :P

    Aiyoh... whether single or married...as long as one lives his/her life to the fullest... that's what matters! Fate this kind of thing very hard to say wan... it often happens when one least expects it... :thumbs up:

    No lah, I dont believe age is just a number. It's really how your body is. Old Liao means old lah... No point saying otherwise. Hehe.... I am happy as it is cos it's the fact of life. Old Liao cannot have babies already mah... How to say not old?

    I have friends who gave birth in early forties hor cos they married late... Fann Wong also trying now mah... she also close to 40 liao...

    Hi Home169, my bro no time to reply u cos my sister-in-law & nephew have just left for Penang again...Think he is very busy chionging around... Henry got two staff; Ivy who is in charge of quotations, coordinating with the designers for the 3Ds etc.. Another guy by the name of Tony who is the site supervisor for the on-going projects. They are very nice people. Especially Tony... Very honest and humble guy who will try his best do everything swee swee... I deal a lot with him for my reno... Ivy not blur lah.. she is just shy... Always so polite & friendly and her memory is better than Henry loh...When I whatspps her the little stuff I need to rectify, she coordinated it well and got the sub-cons to check within the next 1 or 2 working day....     Tis for Henry's contact. Contacted them but was disappointed when they replied last amongst all other IDs. But it's worth the wait :)

    Met up w Ivy (who is she uh?) Henry asst? She nice lady but seems a bit if blur (aka not as experienced as Henry), but I supposed Henry will watch over her.

    We went up to one of Henner club hse to view. Am pleased with workmanship but a bit concern as got limited budget. Hope the revised quote will be in my favor :)

    Again, thank u for ur recommendation. Pray hard dat the Reno will complete in time cos I was told they are operating full capacity even during 7th month. More importantly, I hope the painter is not the same 'bad one' u had.

    My Bifold door will also auto close by itself if I don't close it properly. I still get scared by it at times even thou my bro has warned me beforehand that this is the biggest problem of bifold door. I don't watch ghost movie...cos I can't sleep and will keep thinking about it....I tried to watch Ring about 3 times but never stay on for more than 10 mins... The moment I saw the little girl sitting in the empty room I got scared liao...

    Just last week, while I was talking to my youngest son, he asked me if I ever strike in an lottery. I told him that I trust my instinct and if I buy any number, I usually will win a small prize!! I have such small luck in my life.....

    Then he asked if I have bought any numbers recently, and I replied "NO" as I can't think of any number to buy yet. My son then points to the wall decal (inspired by friends78) on the sliding doors of the store room which I put up recently. He said since this is the newest set of number in the house, why not I bet on this 1889. Since, it was badly misaligned, I told myself OK, let's bet on this number and if I win, I can tear down and replaced the decal.

    So, there it is!! Bingo!! :dancingqueen: I strike $400 in Sunday's draw!! I usually buy ibet and for 3 draws in a row...win or not, that's IT!! No more second bet as I am not an addict gambler and will drop the numbers if it does not strike!!

    Congrats on your moving! Nice colour you got for your bean bag! My Cellini flow bedframe landed into my guest room aka as baby room cos we didn't really measure the length well and if we were to put it in the masterbedroom, it will touch the TV console... :dancingqueen: No even 1mm of walking space! So we chiong to Hommage and got a clean cut bedframe which is of the exact measurement of the King size mattress at $400. A walking space of 30cm is created...

    I believe all 707 instant heaters are good but i don't think it will be too much difference. Maybe safety wise.

    Yah, agreed that all 707 heaters are good. The water pressure for my 707 compact is almost the same if not stronger than the princeton. And Compact is $100 plus cheaper that Princeton. Even the agent for 707 heaters also mentioned that Princeton does not have any special qualities (SPA effect/ different water pressure etc) as compared to Protek. The selling point is the big showerhead. Just sharing my views for new owners. But, I still feel that 707 heaters are still the best in the market and the after sales service is good. Just a phone call, they came almost instantly to change the damage part with no questions asked :thumbs up:
