  1. Most likely no need because MR16 uses 12V. I actually called www.prime-light.com.sg and they sell MR16 and they said can be used directly to replace halogen. Their MR16 cost about $35 (I don't know whether this is cheap or not, anyone can recommend cheaper MR16?). The good thing of LED you won't get heat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MR16#MR16-Compatible_LED_Lamps
  2. Try LED. It's current controlled. But it's in DC, and low voltage. You'd need to have step down transformer + AC/DC converter. I don't know where to buy such package in singapore except in IKEA (quite expensive). Normal energy saving lights use ballast (LED don't). In long run, LED is cheaper because you only need to change it after 30,000-50,000 hours of usage while normal lights 5000 hrs. The power consumed is much lower but the light produced is brighter. If anyone know where to get high power LED lighting in Sg other than Megaman, let me know. Otherwise I have to buy the components and build myself.
  3. FYI, You can have any kind of light color of LED. Advanced materials allow white color in high power, just recently in these few years. White = all spectrum of colors. Therefore, warm white = all spectrum of colors with slightly stronger amber. Some advanced LED, single LED can tune the color, less advanced ones use 3 LEDs on one die chip, to have RGB colors. I used to bandgap-engineered Laser diode (similar to LED but with built-in mirrors)
  4. According to sellers of AC in expo few weeks ago, they all recommended Toshiba. They said toshiba has poor branding but the compressor unit is still made in Japan. Mitsubishi's compressor is made in Thailand. Daikin's compressor is made in China. They recommend Toshiba > Mitsubishi > Daikin, based on the country that manufacture it. Based on my opinion: features of FCU of Mitsubishi and Daikin are about the same, but Toshiba's is minimal. Quality of compressors are about the same according to sellers... but they prefer Japan's made.. (Maybe they gets higher profit margin for selling Toshiba's?)
  5. Mitsubishi's model that's advertise by Jack Neo is quite good. Actually there is another one with IR sensor to prevent too cold on feet. Just look at their standard brochure should have. At Expo show few weeks ago, I checked that they sell at around 3,300 for system 4 (Jack Neo's model) and 3,500 for system 4 (with 3 FCU with IR sensor). There will be another show this week or next, you can check them out. I haven't compared with Gain City or other stores.
  6. Hi All, Can anyone pm me Kenneth, Steven and Max's hp and email?
