hi lilithfiend', pls ask yr id what will happen if i choose to re-screed my flooring without hacking, my id said her workers would do the following; 1) pour some very strong chemical on top of my existing already cement screeded floor and leave it to dry for one day 2) then pour a thin layer of cement over (this is re-screed to them) to me it is exactly like walking on thin ice right? over time it cannot take our body weight, let alone our heavy furnitures. i'm very very worried tat the floor will have a `mini earthquakes' effect, instead of hairline cracks, it would develop deep GAPS! pls help me to check with your id. the reason why i want to re-screed is bcos i don't like the colors, too patchy and most of the areas are very dark grey in colors. they have already buffered the floor but no help i asked for metal strips is bcos it helps to break the floors into parts. if one area develops hairline cracks, it will not travel all the way on the floor, it will end where the strip ends. got it?

Hi no extra money to do false ceiling. just leave it alone...of cos the whole ideal look will never b completed cos can see some old trunkings and uneven walls / ceilings. today theyvarnished the parquet floors. It still smelled tho I went at night aft work.

Of cos U may. but I feel I needed 2nd opinion on my current flooring.can't help thinking those workers screwed it all up! I do agree natural hairline cracks has it's beauty.

hi we took abt 4-5 months to consider the side effect of cement screed flooring. however we decided that nothing suits us more than those cement look therefore we went ahead with the below 1) cement screed hall flooring 2) cement kitchen table top 3) cement screed toilet walls the cement screed flooring is prob not done properly, it's overly patchy but our id claimed that aft buffering, things would look much better. if not she would get her workers to re-screed not done properly, overly patchy. they have to re-screed this they have to buffer the walls to get rid of the dents marks and water stain markings. workmanship got problem cos now is the peak period and chinese new year is coming where all the workers just want to go back to their country for holidays. they have to buffer the walls to get rid of the dents marks and water stain markings

on friday and today the plumbing and electrical works are completed. last night after installation, none of the track lights works. and we gotta rush to chan huat this morning to verify. it turned out that the electrician did not even know how to install simple track lights. such a waste of time. took some more pictures.. hall track lights kitchen pendant lights kitchen wall lights room globe lights

speaking abt plastering. i need some help in plastering pricing for 3 room flat. my id quoted me 800 for my kitchen and she used plaster boards cos she said if applied plaster on the walls, the tiles may fall in future. my room, her workers only plastered 2 and a half walls (out of 4 walls in the master room) , she quoted me fir $450 for plastering the lower portion of the walls. and she used plaster boards. is that right? thanks

hi all collection of keys : 28 dec 09 (waited 5 months!) now left abt 20% work to be completed. a lot of touch up to be done, like my kitchen cement table top, cement flooring and cement toilet walls. that is quite alot! pls see renovation process pictures master toilet with white grouting cement floor still very patchy and some big area darker than the rest, need to do serious buffering before we decided to screed the floor according to my ID cement kitchen table top, need to re screed again cos very patchy master room moisac wall for the mirror and wash basin

Ya we wanted rugged, a little rustic feel. but right now feels like cave cos furniture not in yet. Today they will fix up the 2 wc and lightings finally! If not my place is always so dark to view aft work-. yes is 67sqm too? Stay tuned more updAtes

ya the door frame at the bottom is totally off. try to get them to touch up. my kitchen table top just cement, no tiles or solid table top. pretty bare. today they painted the house all white except my cement toilet walls then do up the toilet skirtings which they been pulling it off. stayed till 7pm. it's been very tiring but i certainly hope the result would make it all worthy.
