  1. Need to vent my frustration i feel cheated... DO NOT engage Goodness Movers. Talk to this Mr Lim on the phone very nice and humble everything ok no problem and even said will give discount since i am only moving a few blocks only. Told him what i have and he say can do in 1 trip. In the end it was like a bloody nightmare. 1. they made 2 trips when it could have been done in 1trip if they dismantle my wardrobe properly (they just dismantle parts till can fit in the lift). charged for 2nd trip. 2. 2nd trip to just take a few items and some workers tried to keep for their own. lucky i saw!!! 3. dented my fridge and deny it say it was like that when they moved it. my fridge is new few months old only!!! 4. deposit $50 for carton boxes never return me. say come next day so i unpacked everything but the worker come collect his toolbox only and say no money come next day but never come!!! 5. call the Mr Lim also dont pick up my calls anymore 6. the workers also smoke and **** at my place throw cigg butts anywhere!! 7. no discount as promised and was suddenly very fierce shout and scold Heed my advice and do not engage Goodness Movers! Dont get cheated like me.
  2. Hi! I'm getting my unit on 28th.. Super excited as this will be my first home. I won't be doing any reno cos of budget constraints so will simply just touch up the place.. Can someone pls recommend me a reliable and affordable vendor to do the below? 1) Painting 2bedroom+1hall 2) Polish living room floor 3) Varnish 2 bedroom floor Anyone knows if they do the window grills or any misc as well? Also how about the kitchen and bathroom floor and wall tiles? And roughly how much it will cost? Do contractors also do such misc tasks?
  3. for such sales expos, is it possible to go down and make purchase first then ask them to deliver 2 or 3 months later? cos haven't gotten the keys to my new place yet.. zzzz..
  4. seems like separate is the way to go.. think it's cheaper too. space constraints i can mount the dryer on the wall above the washer (must get front load).. i definitely need a dryer.. single guy lazy to hang and cant afford to wait for it to dry.. haha.
  5. hihi.. i need some advice. if it is better to get a 2-in-1 washer cum dryer or better to have 1 washer and 1 dryer? and what are the reasons? any models to recommend? thanx!!
  6. the place is in bukit panjang. know of any good furniture shop nearby? thanks.. really very curious what can 4.5k get. haha.. actually my livingroom shape is quite weird, thats why thought get a ID. anyways where to get contractors?
  7. please do post the pics. maybe can pm me the info? i sure will go to a few to check it out.
  8. Thanks! Ya super budget.. At first I thought about just furnishing the house myself, paint and get some furnitures.. So I put in more cash upfront and keep some for furnitures only. Now regret.. Should have kept more cash on hand for reno. Dont know why never thought of it in the first place. haha.. Seems like alot of ppl recommend S&C. Will go check it out.. Comparing S&C to Ikea, what's the diff?
  9. I have read the t-blogs (as much as i can since last month) but seems like everyone's reno costs 20k and above.. Rgd reno firms, I guess there's no choice but must go down eventually la.. But should I just tell them my budget is 10k? Like very low.. And coming to furnitures, I really noob so have been thinking to just get everything from ikea to make it simple. Is this ok or are there cheaper places to shop for furnitures?
  10. Hello everyone.. I finally made the jump and bought a resale condo 926sqf. Am wondering if 10k is possible for a simple reno? I just need to reno the living/dining/mbr only.. Feature wall in living, lights for dining, full wardrobe for mbr.. If possible would like to change the doors, toilet (tiles, basin) also if within budget. I don't own any furniture so will be moving in only with my luggage. If I get an ID, can they also get the furnitures and include in the package? Like sofa, fridge, washer/dryer, bedframe etc? Of cos with this I don't mind paying more.. Sigh, really afraid that I might take a reno loan.. Would really appreciate it if I can get some good advice. Do recommend me a good ID also yea.. Thanks!
