  1. Thanks.. was searching for comments on her service in this forum but could not find any.. or did i miss? Can I know in general, if she will ask you to buy this and that to add as "supplement" to your house? And what are her charges like?
  2. 请问新加坡哪里能买到真的五帝钱? Thanks
  3. Hi Can you help me? redhill area. Pls pm your contact. Thanks a lot.
  4. Thanks, I bought a customised dining table from them but din know that they sell colourful chairs. Anyway thanks.
  5. Hi People, Can you help me on above>? I am trying to get some office/study chairs that are comfortable yet colourful to fit into my study room. Can you guys/gals advise me on where to get (at affordable price though)?
  6. I hear that youc annnot do it. Even for decking. They are pretty strict abt it. When you ID submit designs for reno, they will reject the decking.
  7. Honestly, I know nuts abt checking for defects. I got my fren, who does ID and renovation, to check for me. you will be amazed by what he deems as defects, which in my opinion, I tot was okie.
  8. yes they are removable. Usually quite a few planks make up one block. hence, it can be quite heavy. I just did mine for my apt... and honestly, it is really quite heavy..
  9. Thanks to folks here. Somebody may have done this before but let me “repay” my gratitude by providing my guide to sourcing electrical appliances. The below items were bought recently after more than a month of constant calling and checking. Fridge – Brand : Bosch Model : KGN36S20 Color : White Price : S$1,900.00 Gift : None From : Mega Discount Store (Katong) Washer – Brand : Electrolux Model : EWF-1073 Color : White / Grey Price : S$965.00 Gift : S$150 voucher from Robinsons. From : Mega Discount Store (Katong) Television – Brand : Samsung Model : UA40B6000VM Color : Black Price : S$2,199.00 Gift : Delivery and installation From : Audio House (Comex show) Just to give you an idea. You need to be extra diligent in conducting the price checks. I have used up 5 weeks to check the different prices at the 5 major cheapest stores and conclusion is prices change every week. In fact, on the same day, you can get different prices as well because different sales personnel will quote you different pricing. The 5 stores that I checked are: 1) Aik Leong – Queensway 2) Parasilk – Katong (New store and cheapest amongst its other stores) 3) Goh Ah Bee (Hougang) 4) Hong Liang 5) Everjoint For (1), the only auntie will quote the cheapest. For (2), look for Andrew. He is so called the one of the PIC in the store and quoted me the lowest For (3), look for Ivan. He is sincere and is willing to communicate through his HP For (4), cannot remember who but better to make a trip down. For (5), the uncle and auntie who mend the store are nice people. You may find it amazing that the major items I bought were not from them. In fact, I was so set to buy from Parasilk on that day but they told me to pay only cash. So I walked to Katong Mall to look for the ATM before passing by Mega Discount store. Being cheeky, I asked about the prices and they quoted me at exorbitant price than Parasilk. I tried my luck further and asked if they can match. Surprisingly, they relented and they manage to quote a tad lower than what Parasilk had asked for. For TV, the best time is only during IT shows. But you must be extra patient. Wait for the HAPPY hour and you may get better deals than other period. For TV, prices will drop at every IT show. For Fridge and washers, they hardly move. In fact, sometimes they may move higher. Hope the info helps!
  10. Not sure if you drive. but if you do.. don't confine to only IFC in sungei kadut.. there are many many shops in Singapore that you can scout for furnitures.. I have been to Lush, Evolvliving, Air, comfort Design, Ghee Hong.. many many more. more impt is.. most shops carry many similar designs.. i have seen one when 1 similar item can sell for 169 and another shop selling the same thingg at 10 times more.. yes 10 times more.. 1k+.. so .. pls do your research properly.
  11. Some of the things comfort design carries can get from Ghee Hong.. and the latter is cheaper is by at least 20-40%. No kidding.
  12. Hi .. I stayed in the low at Metro. Just wondering how did you get your approval tocover up the planter box? My ID tried to apply but got rejected instead.
  13. Thank you both. I was told indeed by some that places like Harvey and best denki actually have promotors for different brands, albeit teechnically they still belong to the same retail shop. In addition, different brands carry different commission level for some. Hence the differing views from the sales people. I have heard about Goh Ah bee and heard many good comments abt this shop in terms of pricing. But not sure if this shop will offer impartial views. Nevertheless i will try and post more info when I have.
  14. Hi all I am new here and am glad to find this forum. Over the last few weekends, I have gone to so many electronics shop to find the best deal for washing machine and TV but kept getting conflicting views from different sale staff and friends..... going bonkers soon. 1st I went to harvey.. this guy was helpful. he knew his stuff. he introduced us to Brandt 8kg load. Said this is quite efficient. He said electrolux will wash almost 1.5hours, which I think is excessive. Set.. almost.. to get brandt.. For TV, almost set on Samsung LED cos slimmest and sexy... albeit I know I maybe paying too much for a relatively new technology in the mkt. then went to Parasilk. This guy helpful too but he introduced us to both Brandt and Bosch. Said Brandt made in dunno where,, but Bosch in Thailand. So almost set on washing machine. Went over to TV section. He said Samsung not very good. Introduced us to Sharp said cheap. blah blah. then went to Best denki.. Washing machine introduced me to Brandt and electrolux. Tv recommend me to Sony. Said got the best resolution. He even off the bluray CD playing to show me the difference. but so thick.. then went to queensway.. washing machine.. introduced me to Elba...haiz.. TV.. that guy said samsung best.. now confused! after my long nagging session.. can you help me on this? 1) which washing machine is best? In terms of effieiency and looks best. Is it true that electrolux uses that much energy? 2) which TV is good? Samsung LED or Sony Bravia?
