-
haha, my hubby & i did the same thing too when we were buying all our hansgrohe/grohe/toto fittings. we said when we move, we'll just buy cheapo ones and replace them dunno can or not

found him courtesy of the government. haha, we used to work together in the civil service. not only wash, he also iron and cook. hahaha, now i feel so evil. but since i knock off early, i'll be the one preparing dinner in future. my water heater located in the service yard. you're right, i wanted to put in bathroom, they don't allow.

dunno leh. i stopped buying all these home decor mags. my hubby complain that i just buy & flip, occasionally tear out a few pages only. wahahaha. maybe cos he buay tahan the mountain stack of home decor & bridal magazines in my room alr. but ya, if that's the set, it might go well with your decor! for me, i'm planning to shop amazon and other online stores to see wat treasures i can find. -
congrats on the new place! haha, in this case, they should rename the estate, The Shire. good luck with your reno.

was feeling rather worried about the installation of my sanitaryware, cos when i met him on monday, i couldn't really understand the plumber, so i don't know if he knew wat i was talking about. so went down last night just to have a peace of mind. also, initially, someone told us the length from the wall to the middle of the pipe is 4inches, so we bought our WCs in accordance to that measurement. when the plumber came, he measured and said it was 2inches!!!! Luckily, the WC we bought for the MBR bathroom was for 2 - 12inches. But the problem was with the common bathroom, difference of 3inches!!! I guess we were lucky he had an offset collar for that, any bigger, we would really have to call Sim Siang Choon to ask if can exchange or not. *phew* MBR bathroom - he haven't put up my Hansgrohe Rain Dance. Can't wait to use it. Common bathroom - still short of the accessories to go up. MBR painted! - Our room doors in the corner Living - our wood strips are here! think they'll start overlaying today. and that's the hubby's fave light, the most expensive light in the house. Lastly... the super duper ugly gas pipes, painted in white.

i ask my hubby bout the washer ytd, he told me he don't want. he mentioned if some mechanism don't work, later the cover cannot open? I don't know what he talking abt la, but since he's the one washing the clothes, i leave it up to him. wahahaha. anyway, here's a pic of my gas pipes painted in white.

oops. creamy. hmm, grand. maybe u can accessorise with shiny items. i saw this nice toiletries set from iwannagohome. but it was $99 i think. shiny square crystals. got gold, silver, black. just a thot. -
haha, no leh. is black. haiyo.. i'm still trying to forget the image. brrr.
-
nope, i haven't bought my washer yet. but my mother-in-law say don't get front load. i don't know why. but just listen lor. haha. only now i very sian, cos i realise i only got 1 electrical outlet there. so the dryer and washing machine got to take turns using it. must go find a nice 3M hook to put there for the wires. samgalz: alamak. then u just have to look forward to end of reno for a nice break.
-
yaya, standard heater & dryer package from them lor. but they charge 3 times for each installation lor. -_-" so good u can place it above the washer! dun forget the dryer got some funny pipe thing coming out the top to vent out the heat or smth. i have white tiles, so the copper pipe really very very ugly. I'll see if i can get a pic of my painted pipes tonight. samgalz: ya, i think its natural to feel exhausted from the reno process, and plus u got kids to take care of. i dun have kids, but alr feel so tired and also falling sick, cos any offday and all weekends are reno-related. all of us must really rest more and recharge our battery whenever we can. for me, tt's sleeping on my way to & back from work. haha.
-
hmm, consider painting the pipes so its not so obvious? cos the pipes they use are copper. tt's wat i did for mine for the pipes which cannot be covered by my top cabinets. ohh, and do think about where you place your dryer, i had a tough time deciding cos my yard area quite small. and there wasn't enough space to place it above my washing machine. end up do side by side.
-
thanks for the concern. but i trust that it wouldn't be an exorbitant cost. cos i've already brought up the issue a few times and they told me that it'll be around half the price of outside rates. and they wouldn't dare to incur the wrath of my dad. they got on & off show me the quotes given to them by other vendors, such as my gate/door, aircon, paint etc. so ok la, not that bad.
-
hihi, thanks! i also wish i can answer your qn, but even i myself don't know the cost of my reno. cos all these contractors/workers are on very good terms with my dad, long long long long longggg friends. so my dad say, do first, money talk later. but of cos i got to pay my dad back la. i think i can prob find out the cost by mid-jun. i don't think it should go beyond $40k ba. i'm seriously praying hard, even got nightmare that my dad passed me the bill for $80k.
-
thanks for the compliments. if u need help with sketchup, let me know. i'm not really an expert at it, but can help out with simple basic designs.
-
wow, i think you got a really good deal for this flat, esp since just minor reno. congrats!

the citygas ppl installed the gas pipes, my heater and my dryer. why the pipe colour so ugly one... i'm getting the workers to paint them white. (same goes for all the aircon trunking, getting them to paint to match the room colours) pipe to the hob my dryer - so much problem deciding where to place this. heater downstairs neighbour came to complain again, cos they were drilling holes into the wall to install the racks to hold the pipes. my contractor was the one talking with him. say he work night shift, so noisy cannot sleep. sigh, not that i want to disturb the peace, but you can't expect a renovation to be completely quiet right? anyway, it's just occasional drilling a hole here and there to install stuff. :( fortunately my surrounding neighbours are nicer, i apologised for the noise, but they all say nvm, reno is like that one, they understand. even tell me if i need any help, just let them know. which reminds me, when i was talking to the carpenter at the balcony area, we happened to look across the road and saw this young man in his underwear cleaning the windows. OMG, i need to try to erase the image from my mind. eeeekkkkk. plumber coming today to install my sanitaryware. and they'll also start laying my wooden floor strips today. chosen a semi-gloss finish. but they won't polish until all the carpentry is in, which should take another month. i'm starting to feel really tired.
-
went down to the house on saturday to oversee the citygas installation and also to talk to the carpenter. was so happy to see the painting almost done, and the air-cons up! my MBR bathroom curb & shower area has also been tiled up. study room my KDK V56K - the LED light they stated was useless, just a circle of light that can't lighten up any room. but expected that anyway. haha.

the gold framed mirror is gorgeous!! goes very nicely with your white tiles. the light effect also nice, looks like sun beams. -

Aircon is going up today! Too bad I don't have the time to drop by this week to take a look at the progress, but at least I know my home is in good hands. Been working hard on my kitchen cabinet designs and WIW. Of course they'll all come with doors, these pics are just to show the carpenter how I want the internal layout to be. Still have yet to decide the laminates too. Kitchen - I'm not really sure if there is too much space or not enough. That thin space below the hob is for a pull-out drawer to put cooking oil, seasoning etc. Saw it in a hafele catalogue. Looks very convenient! Anyone able to give me some feedback on the kitchen layout and the hafele system based on your experience? WIW - I gave up my idea of an island cabinet and chandelier. View 1 - My dressing table, shelves & drawers for my makeup/hair dryer etc & hubby's side of the WIW for his tops & bottoms. View 2 - Our shared side of the WIW. For his suits & accessories, followed by my bags & accessories. View 3 - MY side of the WIW. hehe. Tops & bottoms & dresses. Still working on my MBR wall & the living room feature wall, I can't figure out what I want. 48hours to meeting the carpenter. Think brain think!!
