Oh dear, I need to come-by more often. So many posts. I have confirmed my ID (through friend's recommendation). The initial quotation that covers basic stuff was $22k. I keep adding more and more stuff and it has ballooned to $35k. Sigh~ must reconsider what I can live with and what luxury items I must let go. Derrick, dun think it's allowed to remove the bomb-shelter. zanie, you are right about the leaks and cracks. Everyone better check properly when your time comes - within the unit and surrounding the unit - all must check and report to HDB. Did I miss a gathering? Got crab buffet or not? Yay! I wonder if Blk E has the same OIC? Coz my OIC has been very helpful so far.

Initially we saw only window planes and were so happy that there are no grills. And then, they fixed on the grills. =( On a closer look, we noticed screws - we guessed that they just screwed them on. We checked with our ID and he said it is not uncommon to remove the grills. Nevertheless, pls keep us updated in case there is a change to HDB policy. thanks =)

Have you checked the website? Perhaps you may wish to give HDB a call. Yes. IDs will usually do it for free for you. I am hoping to put it aside incase I need it in future. Hee hee.

Thanks for the info =) heehee. my neighbours should be thankful mine's not a 5rm. I will be getting a king-sized bed. Coz I am hacking the wall opposite the MBR toilet to fit the wardrobe. So I can make a feeble attempt (& with great imagination) to have a WIW when I close the the MBR door. I am unwilling to give up one BR. =P

You share the same views as my FH with regards to curve walls. I would have liked the additional space that 5rm gives though - can put 2 mahjong tables in the living area. LOL. CraB, you are right. They are the extendable type. For those who intend to put your sink below, the rods can be removed. There are rods outside too, running parallel to the kitchen windows. M&M - Thanks for the pics =)

Please take what the contractors say with a pinch of salt. They have been known to give wrong information. I think we should drop the subject of the unfortunate incident at blk 79. If it's true, may the person rest in peace. There is nothing we can about it, unless you are seriously considering giving up your unit. If it's false, it will not do us any good to perpetuate the rumour. Skywu, don't worry about the size of your MBR. I am sure your ID will come up with something creative. =) twotwobravo. Has anyone in Blk 79E received the loan letter? I have not.

I will also be hacking the wall between MBR and BR, but the space will be just sufficient to place the MBR wardrobe. The "invaded" BR will be the study room. Cost of hacking & rebuilding the wall is approx $300 - $400. Bethel, the metal bars are for hanging clothes. You can "pull out" the racks. They can be easily removed if you don't like them (or so I was told). Glad to hear that your baby is feeling much better. Wish him a speedy recovery

Hey Carelinwen, Exactly! Same thoughts as you. I think I will be overlaying. My teeth cannot last 15-20 years (next reno). Havent seen the real thing yet. Maybe real thing dun have to faint. I tried to get in yesterday but I failed....miserably. So, I hang around Blk C lift lobby only.

I couldnt log into My HDB this morning. Perhaps they were updating it. Blk 79B & 79E were neck to neck in structural completion. Keys' collection should be about the same time too? WIS/BE for mature estate (including Toa Payoh) started today. Was surprised the untaken units from Blk 79 were not included in this excercise.

My PCD has moved to 4Q 2007. I am from Blk 79E. Blk 79B people, you may wish to check yours too.
