Currently, we have slowed down our reno preparations as CFO had decided that he wanted to go energy saving with full LED down lights and pandant lights. Had gone to Sim Lim towers and online to search for afew suppliers, he is now evaluating for the better option. Now it is back to the begining of the house designs again as the lightings is now different and we would need to match it.. Duh! Men!
Anyway I have complained loud and clear that he had stripped my reno, furnishing and electrical appliances budgets for his led lights. Yup. It is still grand total of EVERYThing to be 22k.
Anyway we have found some contacts which will be around ave cost of a downlight of 9W of 720luminence of about 1.5 more expensive than a PLC lights of the same brightness. We have found a scholer (dunno how to spell lah) crystals led pandant lights with 30 over high powered LED cool white and yellow white lights with 4 E14holder(energy saving or halogen lights). The good thing about this light is it can light up a 3m x 3m room just by the led lights and if you wanna it really bright, the 4 halogen or energy saving lights comes in handy. It has like 6 modes of lighting programmed. Too bad we cannot shake off the salesman to take any photos.
On a happy note, cfo has contacts for a cheap supplier for wall paper works who usually use left over wall papers from commerial and showrooms, hopefully we can get the wall paper we like for the MBR and 1 side of the hall with the price we can afford.
We have sorta finalised what we want for our carpentry works with drawing and came out with the detailed specifications required (Yeah, big part of my regualar job is to write specifications.
).
We are more or less going for modern zen design with some contemp and zen funishing. The carpentry are basically high gloss laminates with wood lines. I am thinking of EDL piano gloss. The color is still black and white and shades of silver and gray.
Then CFO casually said, "eh I like that red ceiling fan, lets get that." Duh...
.
I think the LED lights will cost quite a bit liao...

Drawer mechanism feels like a cheap blum version! haha tried to slam but it stopped half way. o_o Best is no additional charges.Master bedroom wardrobe. Oh no, the frame looks so greyish. Thought it is black. Hopefully will match with my black bedframe & dulux marina blue wall...
Wah, I have a blue kitchen too.
U still remember u chosen grey or black for the frame?

Hi Fencer,
I just read through your issues with Henry again. IMHO, some works like the door (viewer issue) and piping work are poor. Professionals will not try to rectify the piping problem by 'pushing' it up. This is completely unprofessional. If the pipe is crooked, it is crooked. Common sense don't prevail here.
-
Handover dates are symbolic only as many would realise.nevertheless, must always insist on reasonable workmanship. it is impossible for them to tear down the whole plaster to redo...they will at most recitfy 1 out of the 10 the portions you mentioned. Then wait for you to make noise and rectify another part. Slowly, your level of expectation will drop, many play such games.. they can wait, we can't.
I think you shouldn't think that way. If they don't do a gd job, don't pay them. Unless weneed to move out asap, I don't see why we can't wait.

Congrats. Have fun moving in.

Hi Titanax,
As requested, took some photos to explain to you on the wiring part for my home.
From the original SCV point, 3 new SCV points are created - one for main living hall, one for study desk and one for mickey mouse console. There is a cut out hole behind the tv for wirings to go behind the carpentry work and reach the power points and SCV points.
On a side note, the dividers of the carpentry work can be remove to create more space if necessary.
TV wiring, etc, will go behind the wall through the 'drainage'.
As mentioned previously, wirings were run behind the carpentry work first. I hope this helps.

Haa.. I think those are not LED lights.. those are the shower spouts where water will flow out... LED lights during showering is too romantic (Cant think of a better word... Like showering under the stars)... haaa..Oh okie. Paisei paisei. Becos I saw something identical to yours with LED lights. At different temperature it will produce a different color. Hee.

haha.. one of those succulents (related to some cactus family i tink) died in my care... n cacti are supposed to be like the hardiest plant lor... *faintz* tink i over watered it.. but so far the money plant is still good, and is actually growing so, fingers crossed..ok will take pics for u to see.. if n when i find the time to get there...
I think money plant is definitely easier to grow. Just need to soak the plant in water and it will grow and grow. Hee.
Cactus wise, u need to know the species. Tropical cactus need to water more. Desert or arid land cactus cannot water too much.

Oh ya...the TV centre console ...
QUITE FUNNY that many ID actually give me the idea of a fat and bulky looking tv console that occupy and eat up the space for my living area, but MR BK give me his marvlous idea and rotating plan which SAVE space and help to enhance the space and make full use of it so that we can watch TV at hall or dinning area.
Presenting... the rotating tv console... & SLIM too
Actually, if my memories did not fail me, the rotating concept was a 2005/06 euro design and if u do read up on reno/furnishing or even in reno talk, this design is 'replicate' by many IDs already. So my opinion is this is really nothing new.

Sadly said, it is broThe most left one can not be used as there is a U shape pipe.
So we make it balance on the right side too
Sometimes it is beyond our decision.
Balance it on the right is a correct decision. Otherwise, it will look more awkward.

Hi Mickey M,Your house transformation is fabulous!
A lot of reviews indicating LG front load washers are actually not as good as the European ones.
Well, last mon, a salesperson from best denki was recommending samsung - S$699. Guess I wasn't convinced.
The sales at Mega Discount store has done a better job.
Frankly, this is my first time using front load machine. Had been using Jap top load washers for as long as I could remember
Thanks thanks. Personally, I am not brand conscious for electronic products. Eventually they will all spolit. Hee. I like front load machines for the fact that u can choose to wash clothes using hot water.
Hi MohGuan,From CCM Toh Guan. They have quite a few outlets all over Sin.
I learnt about it in Renotalk too.
Legrand design is slim and sleek, the one we bought is slightly thicker.
We bought it cos it's more shiok turning the switch with that loud and solid sound! Silly, right?
They are quite flexible in their exchange policy - though no refund policy.
I just went back to do an exchange from 3gang to 4gang - just top up the diff.
Apparently, a lot of contractors get stuff there too.
Happy shopping!
I looked high and low for a 'no sound' switch and eventually gave up. The only 'no sound' switches are touch sensor ones or control by control panels Not willing to spend such money though.
