  1. This thread sounds like a ventriloquist at work 1 person manipulating sounds which seem to come from different sources, but actually there is only him or her
  2. Apparently they are new here, but there is this link of a third-party report that is pretty recent on the top laminate brands in N America: http://www.columbiaflooring.com/documents/..._18_25_2009.pdf
  3. hi, this is the website: www.quick-step.com you should be able to locate their local distributor there, cheers
  4. Oh did you? Good choice I think. Me I'm thinking of applying for a job with them, hehe
  5. Saw this brand at s'pore expo today. Apparently a leading brand worldwide according to sources from the internet. And check this out: www.uniclic.com It seems nearly all the wellknown brands tried to copy them. They must be very good
  6. I would suggest DIY if it is a small area. cheers
  7. Suggest you count the number of boards affected and then call supreme to have them replaced. Maybe they can symphatize with your unfortunate incident and minimize their charges.
  8. Suggest you count the number of boards that are affected, and then call supreme up to have them replaced. Maybe they can symphatized with your unfortunate incident, and minimised their charges.
  9. You will have to compare apple with apple. The AC5 tag applies to surface abrasion test ratings which generally adhere to the european standard, as they are the pioneer and innovator of laminated hdf boards for flooring. Based on that testing methods and criterias, the material must meet 6,000 rubs for AC5 classification. To my knowledge, AC5 laminate boards are only available with hpl surfacings (high pressure laminate), and not dpl(direct pressure laminate). The asian productions (malaysia, china) are dpl, and are quite able to meet AC3 classification (2,000 rubs), which is adequate for usage in heavy residential, and light commercial application. It is better to be specific by asking the supplier for their standard of classification: international or 'in-house'?
  10. Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience, and it is good for others to take note of that. I would like to add these 'pre' installation conditions which are very important for laminate floorings: 1) The boards should be allowed to acclimatized to room temperature before installation (12hours). This will minimized expansion/contraction of the boards when they are laid. 2) Floors should be swept clean and dry, as well as reasonably even. 3) As above incident, newly cemented floor must allow for moisture contents to escape before being covered.
