Hi SweetHome2, My Reno work is 'almost' done but we have shifted in anyway. Now there are still some minor works and touch up need to be completed. I am not that picky but my wife is. For jobs that I think is not nicely done but forgivable, she insists my ID to redo. She is a non-negotiator My advise is that you got to check everything in details and make sure things are done as quoted. Just to make sure they don't quote you Durian but deliver Apple or Orange I have been busy lately but will try to update my blog with my "after Reno" pictures. Where is the PM button here? Try to PM you but can't find it Are you going to engage Ideal Design to Reno for you? How much they had quoted you? Cheers

My Reno started from 29 Mar (about 2 weeks ago) and things are only half way done... not sure if it can complete in time so that I can move in smoothly.... Work to be done: 1. Replace Living Hall Floorings 2. Replace Kitchen Walls and Floorings 3. Replace Toilet Walls and Floorings 4. Install Shoe Cabinet 5. Install Kitchen cabinet 6. Install Master room wardrobe 7. Install Master Toilet vanity and cabinet 8. Install Common Toilet vanity and cabinet 9. Install Paryer Altar 10. Install TV Console 11. Replace 3 bedroom door frames and 3 doors 12. Install Glass door for Kitchen entrance 13. Install Glass door for Master Toilet entrance 14. Install shower screen for both toilets 15. Electrical rewiring - 42Light points, 19DP, 4SP, 4 2Ways, 2 SCV, 2 Tel, 1 DB box and earth 16. Painting 17. Replace all glass windows and grilles 18. Plumbing work - Install new SS pipes, bowls and toilet access 19. Install 4in1 Mitsubishi Inverter aircon 20. Ceiling and Boxup works 21. Install Laminate Flooring for Master Room, Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3 Furniture bought and ready to be delivered: 1. Sony 40" LCD TV 2. Panasonic Fridge (4 sticks - should be gd la) 3. 3+2 Recliner Sofa 4. Dining Table and Chairs 5. Coffee Table 6. Lightings and Bath Accessories 7. Hood, Hob and Oven 8. 2 Bedroom sets for my 2 kids with Mattress My pocket burns a big hole liao.... just hope the reno work can complete in time

Ya... I will not engage a reno firm that request 50 50 or in full amount.... this is protecting him and not us... to me, if he can do a good job, I have no reason to hold back the payment... why do I need to pay in full and then worry if he can deliver... if he can't, then start to worry what to do as already paid in full....

I had engaged Ideal Design Studio finally. My wife and I both feel that Zack had given us an honest and responsible feeling and that's made us decided to use him. I hope he is good in designing a nice home for us.... as this is more important We had chosen the tiles today and it is really tough decisions. Now just sit back and wait for the 3D drawings. I really hope everythings will turn out well Cheers! Btw, anyone has used carton boxes to give? Thanks in advance.

I will be signing with Ideal Design Studio for my Renovation within these few days if everything moves smoothly. My ID is Zack and I find that he is really patient in listening and advising me. this is one of the good impression that made me decided to deal with him. Of course he gives me a good bargain too. The only bad thing is that when he is serving/discussing with his customer, he usually don't answer your calls. But look at it in the other way, when he is talking to you, he will do the same and be very focus on the discussion with you. In the end he will call you when his discussion is done. Will keep update on my progress. I hope Ideal Design and Zack will not disappoint me. Cheers!
