  1. Celing Fan Experience - Fanco We installed 3 sets of Fanco fan in 2 bedrooms and Living area. In the first year, we have to call technicians several times regarding the remote. The fans are working fine after 2 years, however, need to ensure the remote are of good quality. How? I have no idea as we have to pay for all 3 sets of remote of newer design the last time we called in the technician as it was after the 1 year warranty period. Lesson: No point having robust fans if the remote or electronics keep breaking down
  2. LED downlights experience to share: We have installed 12 LED downlights(Living and kitchen) ard mid-2011 purchased from Kenzo at Balestier per recommendation by ID firm Artrend. Around Sept 2012, we decided to change the 3 sets of non-LED downlights in our 2xtoilets to LED downlights. As I have good experience with Chan Huat sale lady before, I decided to purchase 3 sets from Chan Huat. There were installed in Sept 2012. Around June 2013, all 3 downlights purchased from Chan Huat started to flickers intermittently. As the problem is not consistent, I waited till 2 weeks ago to bring the LED tubes to Chan Huat. All 6 tubes tested ok. It was then that I was told the problem may be the fixtures contacts. I asked whether the fixtures were still under warranty but the answer is negative. The LED tubes are warranteed for 12 months but not the fixtures. It is very frustrating that after spending more for LED downlights, problem started to show in less than 1 year. Kenzo - 12 sets still running with no issue after more than 2 years Chan Huat - 3 sets showing intermittent flickers after 9 months Lesson: Need to ensure fixture quality as it does not have same warranty as LED tube itself

  4. Well, i see that this forum getting a little 'hot'. Here's my update: On 08 Nov EL sent a new centre piece of the l-sofa to replace the one that might have been infested. During the dismantling, i peep under but did not see any other site with 'saw dust accumulation'. Was told by the delivery team that the observsation is very uncommon and that we can use regular insect repellent to fix the problem. It would have been much better if the original sofa was not infested, however, we are happy that EL fix the problem by replacing the section without question. Just that we forgot to mention we prefer it extra firm.
  5. 03Nov Update: EL called yesterday evening regarding my L-sofa that might have "insect/worm" infectation in the wooden frame. EL assured me that the L-sofa is under warranty and they will replace the centre piece(where 'saw dust' accumulation is seen). That's very assuring for a consumer like me to know that EL is taking action. The replacement will be carried out next week. Till then, my stress level has dropped.
  6. thanks for your comments samtheman, jeanius & daveyap. Status: i have yet to hear from el, will be calling them soon Observations: the pile of 'saw dust' is not that big and hard to tell if it is growing since i noticed it sun nite. i am quite sure it is not termite as i have experienced with the nasty creature before in my old apartment which i rented out(9th floor!). when termites strike, they move in lightning speed and leave trail damages very obvious to the eyes. as dave mentioned, you can actually hear them eating on anything wood. there is usually a nest underground. if it is terminite in the sofa, the sofa is unlikely to be able to take my weight by now, ha. i really hope it is less harmful insects/worms, or better still not due to insects/worms. however, i can't think of any other reason why there is a built up of small pile of 'saw dust' right underneath my sofa, in a relatively new condo.
  7. Bro, i dunno how to post pic. Here are details: Sales Order No: 10594 Description: Leather L-sofa with a decliner Model: 9320 Color: White Price Paid:$2838.60 Delivery: 24 Sept 2011 Latest Update: 01 Nov: 215pm called EL as no one has called me back. Spoke to Ms Exxxxx and went through with her the observation again; it was a different person who answered my call yesterday. Was told that EL has not seen such problem before and a report will be launched where the service team will take a look within a week. Told Ms E that someone from EL needs to take a look ASAP it is a serious problem if it is an insect/worm eating away the wooden portion of the sofa. Ms E noted the urgency and will arrange for an appointment by tomorrow.
  8. Here's a "little" problem i have with the leather L-sofa i bought from EL, delivered on 24 Sept 2011, a little over a month ago. 03 Oct(Sun nite): i noticed a small heap of 'saw dust-like' below the L-sofa when i bent down to pick up something. Then, to my horror, i realised that it is likely to be insect/worm eating inside the sofa. This is a brand new sofa delivered a month+ ago from Executive Living!! 31 Oct(Mon): called EL early afternoon and spoke to 2 ladies(first person referred me to another lady). 2nd lady asked about my observations and reconfirmed the sales order#. Told me that she will get the relevant person to call me back, on my mobile which she reconfiremed. 01 Nov(Tues): No one called me back yet. This is an urgent matter as it looks like something is eating away at my brand new sofa. i will be expediting EL today..jeez..what bad luck i have...i have never experienced "worm in furniture" for decades..and i have to buy from this company
  9. well i was to update our first impression of the white l-shape sofa we purchased from el. first impression was good, really like the color. after using for over 2 weeks there were many micro black scratches on surface of the white sofa, may be it is normal. juz hope that it is nothing to do with quality of leather. anyway, beside that we are quite happy with the sofa, no complaint on the stitchings. recliner is very comfortable. we are basically not that particular, in fact we did not even negotiate for the price trusting boss will have given us the best deal. keeping finger crossed that the condition will last for much longer test...
  10. yes, shawn, the sofa was delivered on sat 24/9. the delivery team was quite helpful and friendly. as for the quality, i will give our feedback end of this week after we get to sit on it for a few days. there was too much unpacking and we really did not have time to laze around on the sofa.
  11. Dear el, delay is not the issue. not making effort to inform customer is. i definitely do not have any miss call from el number or any other unknown numbers as i will usually call back. let's say if your guy did call, twice as she stated, with no answer, shouldn't they try to continue to call to make sure your customer is informed? of course she explaint that they do not want to disturb customer. letting your customer waiting in vain for the sofa is acceptable? yes, sms, don't tell me on-one thought of such a technology. if i sounds frustrated, it is not becos of the delay, it is the fact that you did not make sure your customer is informed, AND, that your team tried to give very FLIMSY explanation, and continue to do so. i do not wish to continue this discussion or any other explanation. all i need is a good sofa!
  12. Here's my experience so far with my purchase of L-shape sofa(model 9320) from Executive Living. (A) Delivery 30/8: we were served by EL's boss and bought a set after visiting 5 other shops. Paid in full as we felt confident since it was the boss himself who attended to us. Arranged delivery on 20/9 afternoon and was told that "that's plenty of time". 13/9: Called EL to delay the delivery by 1 day to 21/9. Person asked for Sales Order and informed that it is ok as EL will called a day before delivery. 13/9: To be sure, i sent an email to executiveliving@rocketmail.com to inform on the delay of the delivery. There was no response, but i felt comfortable since i had made the call plus sent the email. 21/9: Till the day of delivery, i have not rec'd any call from EL. Scheduled my work on day of delivery so that i can be at the new home at 1pm. Called EL office to enquire when i reached as no one has called to inform me of the delivery time. Person(male) answered the phone got the sales order and said to get back to me. Lady called back to inform me that the earliest delivery has been changed to 24/9 due to customs delay. And that she has called me a few days ago but there was no answser. You can imagine how frustrated i was. My questions were why EL never called back if no one answer the phone. She replied that they have called twice, both time no answer and it was called from EL office number. I insisted that she check which day the calls were made, as i hv checked that there was no "miss call" from that number. (B) Quality of Product - Still unknown © Durabilty of Product - Can only be known after some length of time This is my first purchase from EL and i am updating the exact situation i faced. I would have no issue with any delay in delivery as long as i am being informed. Keeping my finger crossed that come 24/9 there is no other issue. Of course, that the sofa quality is to our expectation.
  13. yes, el, we hv bought 1 l-sofa with decliner and will be delivered next week. the real test will be to see the end product in our living room. will provide an update the execution and quality of el's team/product next week...
  14. after visited 5 different furniture shops, we were sold a l-shape leather sofa by the boss of el eventho el was not really our plan destination. we hv the pleasure of being served by the boss himself when we were there. can't wait to have the sofa set up at our living room next week.
