Pre allows u to use external amp to drive ur speaker...eg if u got a floor stander that is hungry for power, the avr will not be able to drive the speakers to its full potential...with pre u can hook to external amp to drive the speakers while the avr workload will just process the signal n volume.

Remember to get avr with pre function....very important for future expansion...

Telos ic if black series (lowest) 600++ i think... gold is 1k++ .... again must go audio basic to confirm (best to get those second hand one)...i might be outdated ard...Entreq Discovery series is 1k bah...i using Konstantin series mid range 2k plus...then challenger is beyond my reach.
