Nature Co at 15 Joan Rd near Upper Thomson Rd. Their DIY range is quite reasonable. Going there later, will keep you updated.

The Vanity The WIW leads directly into the vanity and bathroom. There is no door between the WIW and her vanity but there is a glass door between his and her vanity. We might have to eat grass but no we are not going to use the ugly blue canvas. There will be plants and bamboo chick blinds to keep the rain out. We wanted to have black glass vanity top initially but the gorgeously heavy marble basin that i bought from D-bodhi proof too risky for the carpenter to stick to the original plan. She said the glass top might cracked so we had to change to black glossy laminate with black glass sides. Luckily it still turns out well. Storage space behind the mirror carbinet

The Walk-In As you walk into the Master (i feel like a slave most of the time actually) bedroom, you are greeted by 2 panels of frosted glass on the left. Slide open one of them and you will see....ta da.. my our walk-in-wardrobe! The full view. Hubby kept asking if there is enough storage.

Thank you for your ardent support sammy. To have a more authentic experience, you can also camp in my Naked (sorry, no grass yet) Garden. Tent and mosquito repellent provided. You can choose either the front garden Or side garden Still cannot decide what kind of grass to use. Contractor giving free cow grass. Need to top up about $3k for pearl grass. The grass is going to burn another hole in our pockets. Really need to eat grass after the reno, maybe will take up the free lunch offer from contractor first. However, best friend adviced to go for carpet grass instead, more palatable she claims.

Thanks super sam, am "jia youing" now. Busy packing (no time to update blog). One more week to the BIG Move.

Suppose to hand over next week but carpentry still in progress and house still look messy. Moving our things in on 6 sept and we will only officially move in on 12 sept. However feeling a little flustered now cos some items not bought yet, house not packed yet, garden not settled yet. Can transfer some of your super power to me?

The Floor Trap Story Once upon a time, read an Australian Bathroom and Kitchen (or is it the other way round) magazine and was smitten by the floor trap in the shower area. It was seamless, streamline and simply beautiful without the jarring stainless steel or ugly white floor trap. Requested contractor to copycat the design. Like all reproduction, the effect is not as good as the real deal. However, am always reminded that if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. So here's my monkey floor trap in the kids' bathroom. Custom made floor trap with metal bracket and floor tile glued on. Can be removed for cleaning and maintenance

Dear gals_mama, Thank you for our support. You are too modest lah. You are the one who moulds our future leaders and nurture our young right? (if i recall correctly). That reminds me, got to crack my head and think of gifts for my kids' teachers. Do you think it's appropriate to give them my spare Hansgrohe shower bar, outdoor door bell and bottle trap? (oh no... am turning into a reno freak...help!)

Hi wanaka, I am installing blum drawers and these are some pictures. For tandembox drawer, the front, bottom and back board will be fabricated by your carpenter. Not sure about left and right. Will check with my carpenter. For tandembox inner drawer, the carpenter needs to supply the base and the back (i think, will double check again)

Time flies when you are having fun hanging out at Jln Besar, Balestier, Sungei Kadut and the likes. It has actually been 4 months. Hey your place will take about 4 - 6 weeks right? Gonna be very fast, just blink a few more times ya.

Thank you for your kind words, diffphase, "Lo, like the Cheshire cat our court will grin"..... i am now grinning like the Cheshire cat..... 37hrs 43mins later..... the grin is still there. Sorry i can give you an indication of the cost difference because we did not do a comparison of the cost of extending 2nd floor vs adding an attic. We have always wanted to have only 2 floors because i) too old to climb up and down 3 floors many times a day to chase after my 4 monkeys. ii) 3rd floor seems like another continent (after living in pigeon holes my entire life). iii) Might suffer from premature Empty Nest Syndrome when all the kids prefer to hang out with their friends at the cool attic rather than the fuddy duddy kitchen. Can pm you my contractor's number if you are keen to get quotation to do a comparison. Cheers (still grinning.....)

Hi qiqi, I have 2 small bathtub at my bathrooms. For my kids bathroom, we bought Hydrobath Flair, 1370mm(l) x 710mm (w) x 430mm(D). They have other models ranging from 1170mm to 1360mm. For our master bathroom, we bought Sovereign Jazz 1200mm (L) x 700mm (w) x 430mm (D). There are other brands of bathtub too. Just check it out with the sanitary ware shops along Jln Besar, Balestier or Geylang. They cost about $200+ to $300+. For me, what was difficult to find was square bathtub.

Powder Room The powder room is located under the stairs on the first floor. Strictly speaking its a bathroom cos there is also a shower area for my helper and times when the other bathrooms are occupied. But my ID calls it the Powder Room and it sounded glamorous so am going to stick with that. Initially, there is only one small window and smaller in size without the long passage that we've created. This is the transformation Door of Powder Room. To the right is the staircase and to the left of the powder room is the open concept kitchen. Ta Da! A longer passageway with 3 frosted glass windows. Sorry for the covered toilet bowl, pl refer to previous post for close up picture. The shower area is to the right of the toilet bowl. Close up of vanity counter and shower area. Still dusty but was too eager to take photos. Will update again once all done up and beautified.

There will definitely be a Zoological Garden Open House cum Family Day to showcase the house and the Z Z O's (Zany Zoo Orchestra) debut performance. I'll leave it to you, the well traveled manager to arrange. Btw love your John Erdos furniture. Am thinking of getting bar stool and arm chair from there.
-
Are you kidding? No way you gonna be one of the monkeys, that's a total waste of talent! With your super power, you'll have to be the zoo keeper. I need (wo)manpower to tame the animals.

It's actually quite roomy for boys cos they only have t-shirts and jeans and soccer jerseys. Erh...What's a sperm handle? Luckily is for my boys' room, cant imagine installing in a girl's room. Alright man, we are now progressing from a band to an orchestra cum symphony cum choir. All are welcome, no musical skills or talent required. In such a big orchestra, nobody can tell who played or sang out of tune lah... hee hee
-
Dear Royal Spicy Highness, Love you pristine white kitchen cabinets.
-
Good choice, Mrs Neo. Rather sleek if you ask me.
-
The Doors.... to the boys' rooms
-
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe Kids room - Wardrobe with huge mirror at the side. Identical Wardrobe/mirror for the other boys' room A display niche (minus the shelves) for toys, books, transformers and legos.

Hopefully in 2 weeks time
