    I have a unique problem. I had renovated my house 3 years back.

    But, the plumbing contractor never changed all the pipes in kitchen. He left the old copper pipe behind the cabinet unchanged.

    Now the copper pipe (10 yrs old already) started developing fine hole and started leaking.

    I engaged a plumber to change the leaking portion only (managed to change without removing the cabinet by braking open a small potion of cabinet). The leaking problem is fixed.

    But to make the things worse, his waking an shaking during installation made another joint (the very entry point of the pipe into the unit) to leak and now this joint is no way accessible without removing the cabinet.

    Can any kind soul help me to solve this problem with minimal damage to my existing cabinet and with minimal cost?

    Any type of useful advise/knowledge sharing/contractor recommendation is welcome.

    I tried to illustrate the leak as much as i can in the photo below.

    Anyone can help,wondering where can I get to buy wall decals other than puchasing online.Wish to see the physical thing rather than ordering it online.

    I just saw a 'Push Cart' stall in Harbour Front center selling the wall decals. Its in level 2. Once you come out of MRT (exit B, i think) take the excalator near bread talk to level 2. The shop is on to your left as you come out of escalator.

    Anyone here has any idea where to get solid bedroom doors at an affordable price? My budget is abt $200 per door. Not sure if that is enough though. Need help. Thanks.

    I Got My Solid Nyntoah doors fron Yon Tat the price is 200++. Good workmanship and professional service.

    seen your layout nice. Just want to check about the Cement screed that you did for your living room.

    It is overlaid over existing tiles?

    What treatment did the contractor do to make the floor waterproof?

    Hi the living room is granite floor. Its not cement screed. Sorry for such a delayed answer.

    Due to space constraints in my home, I intend to buy an extendable round table for the dining room. It should be big enough for 4-6 people. Need suggestions from fellow forumers as to where to get such tables. I know Ikea has two such models. Besides this store, where else can I get such tables? Tks in advance.

    No one talk about full latex mattress... It is kinda expensive $2500 onward for a king size... Im thinking of getting 3 for my 3 bedrooms and another lower range for my guess room.. So it is kinda expensive... Anyone bought full latex dunlopillo? Where is the place offer best price for dunlopillo?

    Try Affrendz @ AMK Northstar. You should get good price there. Do not hesitate to bargain.

    I bought my New Duchess (Q size) + Bed frame+ 2 pillows+ 2 mattress protectors for $1500 in the month of august'10.

    Which was the cheapest in the town that time. :)

    As many people mentioned above.

    Lowest price for the lights i was looking for.

    Bought 7 lights in total.

    Later went and ordered 2 fans (forgot the brand) with remote control.

    But the next day the person called me to tell that the remote control is not available.

    So i requested them to cancel the order. for which they obliged and sent me the the cheque for the money that i paid them.

    No questions asked and no deductions were made as they do not have the stock of the product. Even the person apologized for the inconvenience caused to me.

    I strongly recommend this place :thumbs up:

    I Used Yontat doors for all my 3 bedrooms. Price is reasonable and service is prompt and good.

    Only problem is the lead time they take is more than 3 weeks as they have to find the time slot for installation.

    In my case, they told me if they find a earlier time slot available they will inform me. They eventually had a slot 1 week ahead of agreed date and they came and installed.

    PS: The sales lady (forgot her name) may be little moody/grumpy when you talk to her. Maybe, her facial expression is like that. :P

    Have to buy a small dining table due to space constraints. However, love feasting and gatherings, so need to get an expandable dining table :) But so far, only saw Ikea has them. Would also prefer a round one for safety reasons. Anyone has recommendation on where else to get it?

    I am using 'BJURSTA dining table(Article number: 40161722) from IKEA' that was gifted my friends during house warming.

    I was skeptical in the initial days. but, i was proved wrong.

    The table is very useful especially while we have more guests. I could expand the table in a jiffy and whoila... it can accommodate 6 people. :).

    I recommend this table.

    hi peeps, met up with Iz last night to finalise every details of my reno. He was at my place till 1am hehe.

    Such a nice guy. Doing up my whole 4rm flat and it cost me a whooping $30k. There goes all the money.

    Will start reno on the 14th Oct which is next Thursday. Can't wait to see my place transform.

    Mine is a 5 Room 110 sqm.Planning for re-paint the whole unit .I have gone through the nippon site and their package for 5 room is 1650 for Supreme package./1550 for std package.

    They also provide free painting for 5 doors/2 pipings/1 grill(?).

    How much will be approx.cost if i engage an ID/Contractor ? Will that cost include Doors/grills/Pipes or seperate cost for them ?

    Any recommendation for any professional painting companies/ID'S ?

    Look for Straits Times Saturday edition. you can see many paint services adds. They are way too cheap compared to Nippon.

    If i remember correctly. Painting doors/grills will will be extra. But, no harm in asking them.

    How much do you spend on the renovation excluding furniture and how long is your renovation? How responsible is Iz? anything to look out for if I engage him as my contractor, since I don't have any background for interior designing, can he help in this area? :)

    Hi everyone,

    My hubby and i bought a 5-rm point block flat this Jan. Since it is a contra case, we only received our key on 29 July. As both of us are working, and we held our wedding in June, anyway a lot of things have been my excuses to delay the progress for looking for an ID.

    After our wedding, we spent about two weeks to find ID and contractors. I am the one in charge of our house reno as my hubby has less free time than i do. I got about 7 quotations, among the 7 I quickly eliminated 4 and only left 3 to decide with. Well, the one I've decided is not the cheapest one. I visited their showroom to see their workmanship and I was attracted by their kitchen carpentry work. Due to my lack of experience and insufficient research on market, my hubby and I quickly decided to use the ID firm. And also because we were in a rush to decide an ID at the end of July, we quickly signed the contract and let my ID finish the 3D drawing and HDB application within the following 5 days. Finally my renovation started in the first weekend of August.

    Hi Guys,

    Let me share my reno story with you. I was also looking for Reno Contractors some time ago and bumped up on this thread.

    BBW passed me the contact of Iz and i got the quote from him along with 4 more ID companies.

    Although Iz's quote was not cheapest among others my wife and I liked this guy as he was very much listening to our needs and he was down to hearth.

    So, we decided to see the one of his work before signing up with him. So, one Saturday in June'10 he took us to see one of his work.

    To be frank we do not even know what to look for in that house to decide the workmanship. So he was telling us what to look for and what all the things can go wrong.

    Satisfied with his work we ended up signing the contract with him.

    The renovation work went very well with some hick-ups which was beyond Iz's control.

    I was disappointed then. But, understood and agreed for later hand over date when Iz explained to me what was the problem.

    He did a nice job. You can see it yourself in my Reno T Blog.

    The Living rooms are painted with 'Lilly White'

    and the rooms are painted with 'Natural Cane'

    Both from Nippon Easy Wash series.

    Painting was part of renovation package. So i did not engage any Painter.

    Even my contractor used Method 1.

    Solid top was quoted seperately as below.

    Measure the length of bottom cabinet (which needs to be covered by solid top) X solid top cost in pfr (per foot run)

    If the contractor lumps the cabinets, Solid top together we can always ask for break-up so that we can compatre the quotes.
