Just to warn those looking for rental of 4 room flats in Toh Yi region. The Indian owners, the wife is a teacher somemore, sad for our future generation. The agents, Jennifer and Michael, a couple, simply side the owner so to get to look for new rent for them. So friendly while signing contracts. When returning the house, they demand us to clean the house, wash the curtains, and service the aircon. We did that, hired three maids to clean the house, sent curtain for washing and serviced the aircon, and HAVE to show them receipts. They warned and rushed us literally to reach at 530, while we are busy with our renovation in our condo nearby, and the Indian owners reached at 7+,citing traffic jam as the reason. When they see some dust on the wall, they said must retain part of our deposit, $300! My mother took a tissue and wipe it off-dont even need water- isnt they unreasonable? There are natural wear out on the door, which is at the mercy of rain, sun ray, dust...they said that the painting peel off and demand to keep $200! In the end they keep $100, and said only will return if we re-paint the door. The husband want to fight with us over this. We take it as to ward the devils off, just $100, their integrity breaks down just in front of $100. Met all kinds of people in our three house moving experiences, really see the true colour of a person. May you be able to avoid unreasonable owners and agents and get to rent from good hearted people! =) nf

I think most ID still charge much more excessice than contractor. For my case, ID that we visited (in beauty world) charge us double the price of contractor. I think they key about the executor (be it contractor or ID) is firstly the person has integrity and don anyhow chop n charge people. Secondly must have good workmanship. My contactor is from Homewell, got through friend's recommendation ( also I think best to get through this route cos got proven success story). The contractor is really good, reliable and honest and has good workmanship. The thing is that they are mostly the phua chu kang type and don fancy lots of designing stuff. We need to tell him exactly what we want. Bcos we opted for rather simple contemporary theme and borrow ideas from magazine and internet, our house turns out to be nice. And I have also heard some ID they merely has the trendy sense but no practical knowledge. Experience in construction is a must for any successful project I feel. =) s

hey same like us! resale condo and only wanna kitchen n bathroom. We are near to the end now, polsihing floor stage. Our contractor is really great! workmanship for tiling is fantastic, just that design wise mayb you need to give your own input (cos not designer). Can anyone feedback on how to contact this shop call amare la casa? The quotes seems cheaper. So far for 8 ft only gotten chepaest quote is ~$2400 ( full height with false ceiling)

We also just bought a marble table from Winter...havent got it delivered yet. Saw a string of complaints in singaporebride about winter...saying that the management is the same as red apple and got many problem especially in delivery. Keeping my figure cross...cant think too much at the moment, especially I clear all the payment already! Stupid me... But anyway pray hard that it actually turns out ok...some also say ok. Reminder not to pay in full, maybe can indicate prtective trems on receipt like ' dont accept if goods are not in good condition' etc. However do agree that their things are nice, I like it and price not exagerating. The sales lady Joana is also nice and knowledgable.
