  1. Hi folks, Kindly pm me directly or email me at barbetteyeo@gmail.com for my Chinese sinseh's contact details. Becox this thread is lost under my username so I might not respond promptly to your requests since I need to trace this topic manually. I would also like to take the opportunity to introduce a very effective health supplement for hypertension (& high blood), high cholesterol & inflammation of joints. This might come across as some form of advert but the supplement had been used as a prescriptive product at some of the hospitals in Singapore - as it works when taken with a sensible diet. It works for my hubby. That's why I decided on recommending it to others who require it. For those who r interested in the product, please visit my link at: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=59754&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 Thank you.
  2. Hi folks, Please take a look at my other fashion blog which I created sometime back & laid off without much done. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58201&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 I'm hoping that I would be able to provide updates progressively from now on. So please give your support if the contents do interest u. Cheerios!
  3. Hi folks, we installed our own CCTV in our home. During our renovation, we got our electrician to run ready made CCTV cablings which we bought from GG at sim lim tower. Our recorder which we also bought from GG is by AVtech & it is made in Taiwan. However, our cameras are normal in quality. If u require very high definition ones, u might want to try out SAMSUNG which is going to cost a huge bomb. I was quoted SGD 150 with just 1 year warranty for a SAMSUNG CCTV camera with infra-red (for night vision). As for the remote access in viewing what's going on at home while we are out of the house, we are using the eagleeyes program - However, our network with Singtel is... lousy. Another good buy for a wireless CCTV is foscam. No drilling is required. I think DIY installation is definitely possible. The resolution is great & a lot better than ours which had cablings concealed in our false ceiling. I've seen the quality of image on screen on my friend's iphone. It was really very sharp & very very clear. However, no recording mechanism. aside to jhthng - poor u. I hope that your cctv problems have been resolved already. It's a real nightmare to have engaged unqualified installers.
  4. Hi, it's interesting to see such a question being posted in the forum. Most of us don't really question ourselves if we are overpaying for hair services in the heartland areas. However, I must admit that hair services at heartland areas don't come cheap nowadays. A wash & blow dry for long hair past shoulders could cost you about SGD 20 nowadays. From my perspective, Serangoon Gardens isn't defined as heartland becox the salons are located among landed properties. As such, I had the idea that for these salons to thrive in these affluent locations, they must possess a cuttin edge where hair techniques are concerned. For hair treatments, there are plenty of brands in the market. Needless to say, those salons which are located in town are likely to bill u more becox of higher overhead costs eg higher rent. U could try NEXT salon at Ion Orchard.
  5. Continued :- As such, we are very confident in recommending the LINKS EPA fish oil becox it had worked for many patients & our loved ones. However, getting a constant supply of the LINKS EPA fish oil at a lower price was tough. My hubby's health condition did not permit him to wait for my mum to get her share of prescription through her NHC surgeon. And the final straw came when my mum was discharged from NHC - she couldn't get anymore of those prescriptions for the LINKS EPA fish oil. Not that easily. U might wonder why we couldn't simply purchase the fish oil from other brands which are readily available off the shelves in pharmacies. The branding makes a difference in my hubby's situation. Since LINKS EPA fish oil had worked well for himself & had been well consumed by NHC patients, it's a brand worth paying our loyalty to as consumers. We had no choice but to scout around for supplies of the supplement outside NHC. Finally, we managed to buy it at a relatively low price as compared to other retailers who are also carrying the supplement. However, the pricing isn't as attractive as that of what NHC is billing their patients. If any of you are interested in getting the LINKS EPA fish oil 1000mg in a 240 softgel (not the 120 capsules version), please do consider getting them from Rei. U could pm me for her number. Please note that Rei doesn't have ready stocks & would only collect stocks from the manufacturer after receiving orders. Thank you.
  6. Hi Folks, If u r interested in learning more about this miracle product, please be patient in reading through how we came to know about this health supplement. My mother was first introduced this health supplement by National Heart Centre (NHC) in Singapore & strangely enough, the heart surgeon had prescribed my mum with LINKS Omega-3 EPA 1000mg Fish Oil which is manufactured by LINKS NUTRITIONAL PTE LTD. This company manufactures and supplies supplements & is currently based in Singapore. Their LINKS brand has been proven to be very effective in mitigating medical conditions in general & as users of their EPA fish oil, it had worked wonders for many patients & our loved ones. This supplement couldn't be bought off the shelves or off the counter at the NHC pharmacy as patients could only do so at a very heavily subsidised price when they redeem their prescription which had been issued by their respective heart surgeons at NHC on a needs basis. As my hubby had been suffering from genetical health problems, namely high cholesterol & hypertension over the past 3 years, his condition was getting out of hand due to his unhealthy eating habits. His hypertension had been threatening to turn into something alot more serious - High Blood Pressure, a condition that had been experienced by all his siblings. High Blood Pressure & High cholesterol were medical conditions that ultimately killed my father-in-law when he was subsequently seized by cardiac arrest. His death was swift & shocking to all who knew him. Back then, he was already on constant medication during the past 2 years before he passed on. One of my hubby's sisters also suffered from stroke which ultimately left her semi-paralyzed about 10 years ago. Another sibling was down on stroke too a couple of years ago. I couldn't help but worry about my hubby's health condition. My mum had given him a generous dose of her LINKS EPA fish oil and after taking the supplement for a period of more than 1 month, he had benefited such that a) joint aches located at his left knee cap for over a year had disappeared miraculously; and b) his blood pressure (hypertension) had been normalised as shown in all the medical examinations which had been consistently administered by his doctors & during periodical medical examinations. c) blood tests had revealed that his cholesterol reading had shown significant improvements even though there's still room for improvements - He persevered in taking the LINKS EPA fish oil with regular exercising and adhered to a very strict diet that was high in fibre, low in fats & carbo as recommended by the dietrician.
  7. Hi hot stuff Thanks for uploading photographs of dining chairs under my thread. For the price u r paying for high density foam & imported fabrics fr Europe, it's indeed extremely cheap. Is your upholstery agent a free lancer? Or does he have a registered company with factory? I m sorry to say this but I wondered how your upholstery agent could make a lucrative profit out of the pricing he bills his clients. I m surprised by the price u paid becox we did do price quotes comparison & there were a couple of quotations which were much lower than the rest of the upholstery establishments who own factories or even showrooms. Then we were surprised when those 2 other cheapest quotations mentioned to us that they were free lancers; no registered companies & they either own a blog or get word of mouth referrals. But please do not get me wrong; I do not undermine the success & workmanship of these free lancers in upholstery. But I was surprised when an Australian friend mentioned to us that we could diy our dining chairs & even our headboards in bedrooms! As such, free lancing or even DIY-ing is highly possible. These DIY videos on upholstery are found on you tube & the raw materials are readily available here in Singapore.
  8. Hi, that's extremely cheap if it's supposedly done up in fabrics imported from Europe eg Belgium & provided if the upholstery isn't done up with foam from China. Do u have photographs of your dining chairs?
  9. Upholstery for my dining chairs r cheap from my perspective. $140 per chair. Grade 1 foam (grade 2 was recommended though for greater comfort) with new sets of covers. And they were very well done. I m so glad that I didn't discard these dining chairs & sent them for a "facelift".
  10. Yes they picked up sofa & dining chairs from my home. Completed within 7 working days. Not sure about now becox Chinese New Year is around the corner. Pricing depends on the sofa dimension & the type of material customers select. there's no such thing as fixed price with customisation. My chaise lounge cost $1600. But my girl friend's sofa set upholstery cost $2800. Hope this addresses your concerns.
  11. Hi they r unable to reupholster mattresses. U should be buying a new mattress instead.
  12. If you like what Boey has done for us & would like to explore re-upholstery options, including customistion of headboards & wall features, please touch base with him directly at the following contact details: Blk 3016 Bedok North Avenue 4, #02-20 Eastech Singapore 489947 Mobile Number : 9113-5564 Office Number : 6283-0865
  13. As such, we sent the dining chairs to LEE MENG HUAT for facelift & it came back better than expected. Here comes some photographs where our dining chairs are still encased in plastic sheets since the day they were delivered back to our home... * The actual fabric colour should be a champagne gold with a muted glossy sheen which couldn't be captured in the photograph. ** Grade 1 high density foam has been used. The removable cushion covers for all our dining chairs are being made such that the floral placement/ floral motifs are being centralised at the same position. And for perfectionists like myself whose fussy to a fault at times, I must say that the dining chair reupholstery is very well done. Workmanship for dining chairs is EXCELLENT (9.5/10)! - as I have suggested in my earlier entry that there's no perfect score when it comes to customisation. I know that many of you aren't in favour of such prints as they seemed old fashioned. I was very tempted to use another range of fabric which looked absolutely classy & elegant but was detered by the pricing as it would cost us double the pricing as the fabric is imported from Belgium & requires dry cleaning. We decided to select this other cheaper alternative instead. From my perspective, my dining chairs still look romantic & I love them!
  14. DINING CHAIRS We love baroque styles & the dining chairs of such genre seemed to be pretty out of our budget especially when the wooden framing of all our 12 year old dining chairs are in great condition.
  15. As the TV room has been subjected to plenty of afternoon sun, Boey had recommended a range of material that could withstand weathering & meant for partial outdoor services. The outcome is illustrated in this AFTER photograph : * The colour ought to be a more saturated tone of butterscotch (missed my old laptop as the borrowed version doesn't allow editing) ** We have requested for Grade 1 high density foam to be used for the long seating cushion as opposed to the recommended Grade 2 *** Please note that those 2 mini cushions in gold tone isn't part of the re-upholstered ensemble. We love dealing with Boey as he is a very enthusiastic person to work with. Time seems to be the essence for him and he would constantly be on the look out for new ideas & new opportunities. It was a joy working with him. I would personally like to thank him for introducing us this partial outdoor fabric in a gold theme. We were exceptionally worried how our sofa would turn out in this particular tone of fabric as it's a butterscotch yellow & there's a fair chance that it might just turn up ... the way we didn't want it to. Anyway, when we saw the final outcome, we were pleased with it because it came across as really classy & designer style from our perspective. We were so excited that we told our friends that we were sitting on stacks of gold bars. We had some issues with the huge back rest cushion & contacted Boey immediately. I was pleasantly surprised that his after sales service wasn't just existent but he was so prompt in visiting us on the same day of our complaints & rectifying the issue within less than 2 days! Boey was also thoughtful in highlighting to us that we should avoid velvet material since the location of the sofa would be hot & velvet material has a strong inclination to retain heat. Can u imagine us drenched in perspiration all the time when we sit or lie down on the sofa? Service is EXCELLENT (10/10)! We have decided to be conservative over workmanship because it's tough to achieve perfection when it comes to anything pertaining to customisation. Workmanship for LEE MENG HUAT is GOOD (8/10)!
  16. SOFA Here comes the BEFORE photograph : The old sofa was emitting a terrible stench & the white fibre material containing the sponge & polyfill are already torn as you could see from the photograph above.
  17. Hi folks, I wish to share photographs of my sofa which had been re-upholstered recently by Boey Lee from LEE MENG HUAT Cushion & Sofa Maker. Based on the pricing that Boey had quoted us to get the sofa re-upholstered by his company, I was tempted to abandon the idea of re-upholstering & discarding my 12 year old sofa. Prior to being introduced to LEE MENG HUAT, we had scouted around for a new sofa. However, there really was nothing that we fancied after browsing through furnishing boutiques. Those which we fancied and of baroque styles, couldn't be accomodated in the limited space at our TV room. Additionally, we couldn't bear to let go of our existing sofa which came in the style of a chaise lounge which we bought from Barang Barang 12 years ago as a newly wed couple. There was so much sentimental value that's attached to the sofa. It was too much of a waste to simply just let it go & settle for something less desirable from our perspective. As such, we had decided to throw in our bets with LEE MENG HUAT & gotten our 12 year old sofa re-upholstered. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Disclaimer: Kindly note that this thread is strictly for the purpose of sharing my humble & objective views of works and services provided by the aforesaid company. 18. Hi, I'm not sure if your reupholstery needs are already met but you might want to take a look at the sofa & dining chairs Lee Meng Huat has re-upholstered for me at this following thread which I just created this evening: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58211&st=0&p=777392&fromsearch=1entry777392 My re-upholstery is done recently, towards the end of December 2012.
  19. Dear renotalk members, should you require ah cheong's contact number, kindly Send me a message to my renotalk mailbox directly. Alternatively, u might also send me an email at barbetteyeo@gmail.com Thank you.
  20. Thanks for sharing but it doesn't work for all cases especially those adhesive stains which had hardened & been stuck fast to surfaces for more than a decade. Anyway, it's a good thing that u enjoyed savings with a cheaper option that works for u. We use thinner for cleaning stains off light switches though & they do work.
  21. Hi thanks for visiting my blog. I visited your blOg too & I recalled seeing your living room photos on renotalk forum before! It's good choice to widen up space in that manner. But where's your chandelier? I saw your photograph of a pretty chandelier... I love your tiling it is a good colour to widen up space.
