  7. 3. Stove area Before hacking: After hacking: Only some part of the exposed tiles are hacked for the mosaic tiles.
  8. Hacking started today, I took some picture before the hacking and after the hacking: 1. Sink Area Before hacking: After hacking: Some parts, they will over-lay the tiles. 2. Wall at the enterance Before hacking: After hacking: Noted the difference in colors on the wall, the top half is done by the previous owner's contractor, very solid done. While the lower half which is the original from the HDB (white) quite poorly done.

  11. Kitchen Sliding Door Design We have finalised the design of the Kitchen sliding door design. White in color. Hope the final product looks nice. Any comments are welcome.
  12. Some changes on the schedule on the hacking and re-tiling, they want start on this thursday, stop on friday, continue on sat and stop on sun, finally finished on the Monday.. I agreed on the schedule becasue I want to finish off earlier and I will be around to monitor their works. I hope they do not create a mess as we are staying in...
  13. 3D Diagram: From the Kelvin on the 3D diagram of the Kitchen Cabinet: The 3D diagram indicates what is going to do and what is the materials used. At least, everyone is clear.... Hopefully less problem at the end. The sliding door is a bit old fashion.... I am thinking of changing the design of door. I have come out a new design and feedbacked to Kelvin. Will posted it once confirmed. Kelvin has confirmed to start the hacking job on this coming Monday.. Hope everythings go smoothly....
  14. It is third colum and third row. It is stated $636 but there is a L for the B748. Yours come with an L at the back? I do not know what the L stands for... You definitely have a good bargain. Where do you buy from?
  15. Tiles Selections: Yesterday, my contractor Kelvin Lee from Senz brings me to the tiles shop called LIAN SENG HIN TRADING at Balestier Road, their website is http://www.liansenghin.com.sg/ There is a lot of different selections of tiles to choose from. I think you can get what you are looking for in there, at the end of it, you can get a sample of the tiles you selected. Based on my planning, I need the tiles for the sink support, the wall at the enterance and the mosaic tiles between the top and base cabinets. 1. Black gloss surface homogenious tile for the sink support : 2. Black tone mosaic tiles between the top and base cabinets: 3. White wall enterance tile which I try to match the existing old tiles URL=http://img180.imageshack.us/i/img2466a.jpg/] The tiles have squares on it to match with my old square tiles. I decided to make a feature wall at the enterance since I am re-doing it as all white tiles are too plain. So, after discussion with the contractor, we add a strip of black mosaic tiles about 1 tile width based on the old tiles. Guess it will look like the photo below: Overall look of the cabinets colour scheme and wall tiles colour scheme: Too bad, I cannot afford to do the Kitchen flooring and the rest of the wall tiles.....
  16. The price list of Ellane is shown below: I asked another shop near Tampines but the sales person say it is fixed price. However, Poh Joo gives a slightly better price, so I purchase from them without bargaining. It is $640 for the set By the way, OS2 is the new model, so it is not in the pricelist, you need to ask.
  17. I could not find the promotion in the shell website, maybe it already ended?
  18. Yes, the pictures in my planning are from some from other contractors/ID in the forum, I used it for references to tell them what I want. I have not see the workmanship of Kelvin; I will monitor the workmanship, anythings definitely will feedback. Thanks.
  19. Hood and Hob selection: My presently gas stove is a single burner tablet top from Ellane. It is from my mother home, she has been using in for many years more than 8 years I think. It automatically ignites the fame and it is still working perfectly after many years of using. So I decided to stick to the brand that has proved in my view. I know many people are buying Rinnai (hob) and Fujiton (hood). I have called up the INOS Pte Ltd in www.ellane.com website and talked to Alvin Chan. He is a friendly guy which is very knowledgeable on their products and also he answered my questions on auto-clean, etc.. Finally I decided on this set: OS-2 (LPG) + EH-2988 OS-2 is stainless steel instead of black schott glass because we cook very often and stainless steel is more durable and easy to maintain. It is made in Malaysia. As for the hood, I decided because of the suction power. As for the price, I guess it is definately value for money. I brought it from Poh Joo. Any comments on the Ellane Hob and Hood are welcome.
  20. Yes, pictures are I grather from the renotalk forum.
  21. My planning : Uploaded with ImageShack.us Top cabinet : Al frame with white coloured glass Base cabinet : White laminated with ABS trimming. Solid Surface top : black colour In between the top and base cabinet: Black tone mosaic tiles Top and bottom of the cabinets - black laminted (top) and black gloss tile at the base of the cabinet. Sink - retile to black gloss homogenious tiles. The wall at the enterance needed to retile as the tiles started to drop off. I donot want to retile the whole kitchen walls because of the budget. I still think how to match the old wall tiles in the kitchen. Top hang sliding kitchen door with half height glass is white color but the design I need to search.
  22. After going through the quotes and talking to the contractors I have finally engaged a company that is relatively new here in renotalk, Senz Contract and Services, Kelvin Lee. Price wise, he is not the cheapest.
  23. After receiving some recommendations, I started to plan for the kitchen Things to do 1. Sink support area Remove the existing tiles and re-tile to the color of the new cabinets To install stainless rubbish chute below the sink support Install Al swing door with acrylic panels 2. To hack the existing Stove support 3. To change the wall tile on the kitchen entrance To hack away and retile the wall on the kitchen entrance 4. Construct a new fridge base area 5. To install new sliding kitchen door (wooden door with glass) 6. To install new cabinet with ABS trimming and some Al with glass doors on top cabinets with solid surface top. 7. Install two electrical points. (hood and microwave) It is a simple renovation as I have a limited budget.
