  1. I had posted positively about them after my reno was completed >3 years ago, but some time after that post my NIGHTMARE began....... I received letter from HDB informing that there were leakages in, not one, but BOTH the bathrooms. Jeremy then arranged his worker to overlay the tiles. When his worker came he was very rude and behaved like I owe him money. OK, just tolerate it and the problem will be over.... But NO! some time later, HDB again notified that there were still leakage! This time no choice, the workers had to hack the whole floor and I was so inconvenienced by the whole incident - having to take leave from work and had to spend the night in another room with my young child, not forgetting the mess that had to be cleaned up. Ok now the floor is fixed, but guess what, the dumb worker had misjudged the distance of the outlet and when the plumber came to install the pipes again, they couldn't do it!! The plumber had to come a few times in order to solve the problem and that meant not able to use the bathroom for a good number of days. Couple of months later, I informed Jeremy that the worker had forgotten to patch up the big hole on the exterior wall where the outside pipes go into the unit (I have a picture but don't know how to put it here). He promised to have it fixed in a few weeks' time, and another few weeks' time and everytime it was the same thing. It is 2014 now and it is still not fixed! And he has not picked up my recent calls as well. Do you think he is avoiding my calls?
  2. Hi, I got mine from Xclusive (the shop at Kallang, not IMM). I got to choose the color for the fabric. The one I got is the one with one side wider than the other and comes with a rectangular flat cushion. The bed was delivered on time and without visual defects, and I have been using it for 11 months now and so far there is no problem. The fabric is quite stain free, and can be cleaned with slightly damp cloths. I was told the beds are made in Malaysia, and not China, so I suppose the quality is much better and less hiccups on delivery. As for the shop, I gathered that the boss of exclusive is the same as the other chain, Nova, and this Xclusive is to target the higher end customers, compared to Nova. I bought the Omazz full latex mattress and I LOVE MY BED! :-) The only drawback of a platform bed is it is almost impossible to vacuum under the bed. :-( :-)
  3. Please get quotations from DEFONG too and compare. I also overhauled (TOTALLY) my resale 4 room and spent slightly $30+K, I can't remember exact figure. But it was the cheapest of all quotes that I got and the result was satisfactory. I now have a cozy comfortable home. :-)
  4. Hi All, I read from this forum someone have done custom-made shelving for store rooms. I took down the contact no of the supplier in my iphone but my iphone went bust. Does anyone has a good recommendation? Mine is a small store room in HDB 4 room flat. Just want to install a shelf so that I can keep lots of things inside. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi, sorry for taking so long time to post my testimony on DEFONG. I was served by Jeremy. As noted in some earlier posts, I consider Jeremy's service as very good in Singapore standard. He is conscientious and willing to help. He is easy to get in touch with too. If he can't take your call he will call you back asap. But please DON'T SMS him, as I don't think he has time to reply, let alone read them. Overall, the quality of DEFONG's sub-contractors are satisfactory. I especially like the masonry work - laying of the tiles, for e.g. in my kitchen, the floor was done in such a way that when I wash the floor, water flows into the outlet smoothly. Capentry is also fine, just that the sub-contractor's workers' attitude was not very nice. The sub-contactor for lighting was not so good..did not pay attention to what I said and almost did the wrong things. The worst is the workers who installed the toilet fixtures. There was a brown stain in one of the toilet bowl and it was suppose to be brand new!? So in the end, Jeremy got to come all the way to my house and remove the stain. Also the worker left cement and stain on both the wash basins. They are supposed to be brand new but no they don't look brand new, sigh. Yes, I would recommend DEFONG and Jeremy to anyone. Considering the services and costs, I think DEFONG is a very good bet.
  6. Hi, I paid $950 for the bed frame and around $2.9K (can't remember exact figure) for the queen mattress. They are delivering this saturday.
  7. Sorry it took me so long to reply as I have been super busy. I paid $950 inclusive of tax and delivery. My delivery date is Oct 23, so will update you all after it comes. I hope the workmanship is good.
  8. Hi, I also bought from them. I went to many places to compare prices and found their cheapest. It is also good that their prices are fixed and no bargaining is required. Very transparent and good service too.
  9. Hi, Anyone who has used VHIVE or IKEA wardrobes before? Care to comment on the quality? The VHIVE ones are supposed to be made in Germany & Belgium & Denmark... Thanks for your comment.
  10. Hi, I also have a 18 month baby, so because of him, I went around the whole island to search for a good and cheap platform bed. The bed has to be low enough so with the mattress the height will still be low. I found the right bed at Xclusive at Kallang. In fact that shop has the most platform bed among all that I visited. Because my budget is quite tight and I told the saleman (Mr Quinn) honestly my budget, he reduced the price to suit my budget which was very kind of him. I brought my bb along and all the other staff were very nice and helped me looked after my bb. :-) I then went on to buy a 7 inch full latex mattress from Omazz at Park Mall, because I am allergic to dust mites and my bb has had runny nose often. So suspected that he inherited the allergy from me. :-( As for your question about pregnancy. Well, it does not really matter so much as to the height of the bed as much as whether you have something to grab to help yourself up from bed. When I was pregnant I slept on a scan teak bed which is already very high + my mattress was like 12 inches!! and I had a **** of a time trying to get out of bed. By right if the height of bed is high then easier to get out but my experience was not like that at all. I suppose if the bed is low enough, you could roll down and then kneel on the floor and then get up that way which is easier for heavily pregnant woman. The bed I bought is wrapped in fabic and I suppose it is more lasting than PU ba.. There are few colors to choose from and the bed is made in Malaysia with shorter leadtime. Frankly speaking, I won't buy anything that is made in China and then got to ship over here. There are a lot of complains on other posts. Hope this bit helps your bed buying. :-)
  11. Hi All, I have also engaged DeFong to do my reno for my resale flat. The person in charge for my project is Jeremy. They have started hacking and doing tiling works. Will definitely update all their work quality. :-)
  12. Thanks, forgotten. Yes, I read that thread but still could not get the answer I want. The reason I asked if it is hot is because I stumbled on another forum from Australia and most of the postings there were complaining that it is super hot to sleep on a latex mattress, so hot that they can't even sleep properly in winter!! Also I would like to ask you if the latex mattress is sooooo heavy, is it very difficult to change bedsheets? I also saw the NAPURE mattress and was quoted a price of around $1.5k+ for a queen size. So what do you think about your mattress now that you have slept on it for some time? THANKS!
  13. Hi, Can you please share with us your opinions on your latex mattress? Do you feel hot when sleeping on it? Does the bed sag after some time? Can you share with us your brand and where you bought it and how much? MANY THANKS!!
  14. Thanks for sharing. I guess ID got commission?? Can you tell me the address of A Lighing at Geylang please? I would like to visit them. Thanks!!
  15. PD door is used at my parent's house and they are still going strong after 8 years. I suppose it depends on how it is being used.
