  1. common toilet door sample. we picked the greyish one.
  2. on a happier note.... i found this WC at another shop. yay! and cheaper too.
  3. old MBR door sealed. new wall erected to make more space in MBR. Before : old MBR door. new wall erected. new MBR doorway. apparently the MBR and BR2 floors are not level. renoguy noticed this only after the walls were hacked away. sigh.... need them to do some levelling works.
  4. hmmmm.... it just occurred to me that the right swing fridge might not be so practical for us. we need to find a left swing fridge. anyone has any recommendations?
  5. went to shanghai tong lee at jalan sultan for some consult on the main door lock. we want to use back the same main door, but we want to change the locks. so i asked the aunty there about what kind of measurements she needs to ensure that the lock that we buy fits. she asked us to bring the old lock and show her. i told her if we bring the old lock, that means there will be a hole on the door. not practical at all. she said even got hole on door, you have gate to lock can already. :s seriously???!!! leave the door without a lock, and some more with a big hole there???? i really dont think that's the best idea. hmph
  6. not sure if this reply is too late already. can go to tanjong katong complex, #01-05. not sure what is the shop name. look for alex. they have automated blinds and curtains with remote control. not sure how much - i didnt ask.
  7. bot two of these mushroom stopper for our common basin and master basin. so cute!
  8. thanks! the idea is from our contractor. i wanted to change the ceiling fan becos of the lights. but he told us that this fan is supposedly a good fan becos it like has a silent technology so wont be that noisy - i dunno wat brand it is anyway. so he said he will help us remove the lights and still make it look presentable. and can save money some more. yay! for the wardrobe, we wanted to remove it completely. again our contractor told us that its pretty good quality and that it's such a waste to throw it away. so he suggested we move it to BR3. save money again. then we dont need to buy wardrobe for BR3.
  9. this is the wc that is unavailable till december. i really like it as it matches the square basin, square tap and square handspray that we bought. i hope i can find something else that will be just as cute.
  10. shucks! the sanitary ware shop just called to say that the common WC that i ordered will not be in stock till december. will have to go pick a different one.
  11. we decided to keep the ceiling fan - save money. but we didn't like the lights sprouting out from the fan. the reno guys removed the lights for us. Before - with lights After - without lights
  12. wall between MBR and BR2 gone. part of the existing false ceiling looks like its gonna drop down any minute... i didn't dare to stand directly below it. part of the MBR floor is bare now. previously there was a raised platform there which we didn't like. after removal of platform, it's now botak below.
  13. yay! i managed to exchange the scratched tap. phew! i feel better now. 2 thumbs-up for heritage!! went to look at the reno works today. finally some serious action. the wardrobe moved from MBR to BR3. Before - when wardrobe was in MBR. MBR - without wardrobe BR3 - before (without anything) BR3 - with the wardrobe parts that were from MBR BR3 - now with the wardrobe from MBR
  14. when we bought our sanitary ware, we got them from 2 different shops. from one of the shops, we bot some small items like taps and hand sprays. so we "cash and carry", and i have those with me at home now. i was just looking at them, and realised there is a scratch on one of the taps!!! yikes!!! i'm going to call them tomorrow and hopefully they will allow an exchange. common toilet tap - square stem to match our square basin
  15. my kitchen basin is those one big and one small type... with only one tap. so the sales guy recommended this tape as it is 1.5inches wider, and will be easier to reach both basins. no... we're not changing the floorings for the whole house... including the toilets... save money.
  16. thanks... i get what u mean about the gradient... it didn't cross my mind. thanks for the tip. i haven't got it delivered yet... so maybe i can still change it to one with a steeper slope, but still stick to the same squarish shape which i love so much.
  17. found the pic of some of the stuff that we bought over the weekend. Our MBR WC WC-CAPRI06/10/12 CAPRIO Washdown One Piece Closet -3.50 Litre Full Flush / 2.50 Litre Reduced Fluah Size:700 x 380 x 820mm super comfy sofa Set (we didnt get the coffee table as it was too bulky) Coffee table (but our base is in white colour)
  18. bought our sofa set today from Furniture Mall at Plaza. We were there 2 weeks ago, and have identified the sofa set that we wanted. The auntie there quoted us $1699 for the set. When we got there today, and told her we wanted the exact same set, she told us that the set doesn't come with the 2 small cushions, and those were chargable at $58 each!! on top of that, she told us that for the same fabric as what we saw, it will be at 20% more. we could alternatively pick a lower grade fabric for the price of $1699. aarrgghh!!! i really really wanted that sofa set with that same fabric. so we started bargaining. auntie decided to throw in 3 little cushions, plus one ottoman. the ottoman cost $139 each. finally, after much bargaining, we agreed on the price, and added one more ottoman. total price is $2050. then auntie tells us about the 7% GST. aarrgghhhh!!!!! so we bargained again, and finally settled on the price of $2120. hmph! we had a more pleasant experience at hommage. eric is super helpful and super friendly. he appears really sincere, and i feel very comfortable buying stuff from him. we finally settled on a 7 piece dining set, a coffee table, and a study chair. all for $1450.
  19. finally bought some stuff today. mattress - king size - slumberland - $2198 (free 2 pillows, 1 bolster, 1 mattress protector, 1 set of quilt covers + bed sheets) Sanitary ware - $1052 (2 toilet bowls, 1 basin, 1 kitchen tap, 2 basin taps, 2 2-way taps, 2 hand sprays) going to place the order for ou sofa set, coffee table and dining set tomorrow!!!
  20. yay! my hdb approval came in today. time to see some major action soon. going to check out the furniture fare at expo tomorrow. hope to finally buy something... we've been looking at so much stuff, but haven't bought a single thing yet.
  21. aircon units and aircon compressor taken out by our aircon contractor. hmmm... didn't know about trade-in discount. i really should ask them. thanks for the tip!
  22. went to look at the place again today. not much action yet, as we are still waiting for HDB's approval for the hacking to start. the renoguys removed the wardrobe from the MBR. Before (with wardrobe) After (without wardrobe) Just noticed that the aircon compressor is gone too. And they layed protective sheets on the kitchen cabinets, since are will be keeping the cabinets.
  23. Hi... how about putting it at A, but instead of placing it against the wall under window, you can make a shoe cabinet that is parellel with your main door. it can also act as a "privacy screen" from the nosey neighbours outside, if you decide to leave your main door open, while sitting at the sofa.
