Actually won't reco u to spray. I did it at my prev. flat. For kitchen was ok... But toilet... Alot started peeling after a few yrs.

To be honest, EM's reno can cost you from anywhere 50/60k to 100k++ It really depends what you want to be done and how nicely you want it to be done. Also depends heavily on the original condition of the EM Most EMs are really in poor shape because of the age of the flat. Do ask your buddy to check out the various completed EM reno t-blogs for ideas and you can gauge the costing from there..

Day #1 Can't believe this morning everything seem just so normal. i was sitting on the stairs while waiting for our contractor.. We decided NOT to use an ID neither did we scout around for contractor quotes. It did cross our minds that by buying an original flat, it's like a blank canvas to do anything but practicality won over as we wanted it to be a home and not a house. Our contractor does everything in one SPEED - FAST! He took his marker and started drawing little x on the house.. He managed to obtain our hacking permit FAST, so in the next few days, the utility room wall and the kitchen entrance wall will be hacked away and modified to what we want.. With each x he cross, my heart jumps.. coz I can imagine each x means more $$$ added to the final bill. This evening, my husband went back in to check the progress.. All the build-ins etc were taken down. Most of the floor and wall tiles were hacked.. Balcony's sliding door and tiles are gone too.. Gloomy house no more!

looking forward to ur brick wall.. brick wall is super out of budget for me too..~ decided to do w/o it.

actually i am not very particular on how white white it will be?? more concern about long term maintenance, scratch and heat resistance of it. uh-oh. will there be problems with the gap as i think my counter top might be slightly more than 10ft on a side..? Silestone seems very very (VERY) out of my budget because its from Spain (or somewhere in EU)... on the other hand, Caesarstone seems much more within my budget (even thou abit crazy still~).. my contractor also introduced samsung radianz quartz.. which i am not too sure about on quality.. =/ my concern was/is.. paying for the quartz at a high price and end up having something similar to normal acrylic surface. XD

....last but not least, we'll show you why we fell in love with this place and was willing to pay the *crazy* COV.

thanks for all the good luck(s). we really need it. every modification seem to have a jump in price! XD we will be overhauling all the 3 toilets.. i've got no idea why they left us boxes of junk but after all the trouble they've caused, it seems easier to just throw on their behalf............. *sssssigh*

the curtains good condition.. but the way they fix it up.. there's no way to easily take it down. its ok lah.. our contractor went abit crazy with his marker and crossing out the whole house.. ROFL

YAR! zzz.. i suspect they can't take it down.. will reveal "defects" yup. keeping the steps.. alto it isn't very leveled.. but the wood is in good condition la. so wanna save $$$. yes.. def. building the store under the staircase.. utility room turning into a maid's room.

if i got "other" keys to take.. perhaps i won't grumble so much. my hubs tell me to forget it since we are doing up the entire house.. BUT i seriously find it hard to believe... you stay there for 20+ yrs, all you have is this 3 keys? HOWEVER, we just found out (after changing the letterbox keys) that the sellers went to redirect the ENTIRE mailbox to their new forwarding address. It is so RUDE of them to actually talk so much on legalities and end up doing this without informing us.

zzzz.. we waited and waited.... and all we got was 3 miserable keys from the sellers! RAWRS! don't they understand it is illegal not to hand over ALL their keys as stated on the paper???
