Well each have their preferred style. There are others that are very beautiful which we also like very much which is Jumpstreet's and sfk7's place (his was feature in a magazine!) mate

You can either get your ID to drill a hole straight through the beam to lay the conduit(with a string inside) so that it will be conceal and you can just get the opennet guys to just use the string to pull the fiber optic cable from opennet. Someone in either this forum or Jade Spring Facebook has a pic of it. Mine was lay within the shoe cabinet along the hhs, exposed trunking under and beside the beam to the living room, within the false ceiling around my living room to the corner of the living room where the TV is, expose trunking down. Please take note that i'm taking a risk here!!! Do not blame me that if Opennet doesn't want to connect the fiber optic cable that you had pre-lay. You can check out hardwarezone on opennet installation or the type of fiber optic cable to get.

Thank you Tuasbird =) We were lost with the types of design, so alot of research was done from magazines(which would provide places which are not popular like likethatone.com), online design websites and renotalk, especially on the thread reagarding what others in renotalk would change in their renovation. Some ppl hate the idea of doing their own research and relying on their ID. Well some IDs are just those "salesman" type but for some they are more "contractor" and lastly the "real designers". The contractor and designer types are better then getting a salesman type!! The magazines We have done plenty of hunting for the right piece/s of furniture. Then slowly narrow down your choices that will be part of your overall design. Also consider whether would it be practical or safe if you have kids. As mentioned before, it's very hard to prevent kids from getting injured within your own home no how child safe it is. You gotta have a control measure. Even while renovating, the ideas keep coming in but she was afraid it would be too messy. Ikea got a great policy which is the 100 days return back. If you can't decide, buy both design/colours, bring back and see whether which will be more suitable! I have gone to Ikea return counter for about 6 times!! Oh oh gtg my lounge chair is here!!

Didn't manage to see any for the few home fix that I went to. =( Only got the tile paint from Home Fix. I kinda reluctant to get it painted as alot of work to be done. From what I read online - Paint, sand, paint, sand, paint...

The remote control controls the Philips bulbs installed in the 4 x PLC downlight. You can group them into 4 groups or in my case 4 individuals. The circle is the dimmer. The fan can be found @ Extra

Hi Evelynsiow, thank you. Yes I had bought a 15m fiber optic cable from Sim Lim Square level 3. It 2 stores on the left of the Sony store. The cable was laid from the outside of my house(above my door) to the corner of the living as shown. The cable was "run" under the beam. I had seen others drilling straight into the beam (but it is not advisable to drill into the beam) to lay a "straight / smoother" conduit (with a string within) for future installation of the fiber optic cable by opennet. Yellow - fiber optic cable Blue - beam Yup it will still be cool, we install a 24k BTU instead of the "usual" 18k BTU so as to compensate for the extra space. The fan also help in spreading the cool air to the dining and kitchen area but it is not cold cold air like sitting on the sofa in front of the air-con. For sure I can feel the difference once you enter the other rooms without the air-con switch on. I will get back to ya on this to try it on full blast. I got the Fujioh hood which is able to absorb 83% of the oil. We have not tried any real cooking yet.

Our "black" board and main door on the right. MY ID search high and low and even to JB but couldn't find a black board. Please let me know where I could find a black board in SG. Thank you! TA DA! Biohazard shelter behind the "black" board. Shoe cabinet on the right. The left side have storage for bigger shoes/boots/shoe boxes and drawers to acomodate socks. Forgot to take a shot of this. kuku HDB provided me with a wrong initial floor plan showing a different opening... Thus the main door had to be flipped so that we could build this.

Whoa thanks!! Which blk are you staying @ ?

No problem, I think those are colonial doors with wooden blinds afix onto it which you may still find them in Seletar.

Thanks JumpStreet, didn't really get a chance to "fully" use the sound system yet. Luckily the back of the brickwall is a staircase so it wouldn't really disturb the neighbour beside. The fans is the only think to get commented first when entering. love the curve of the sofa and two tone. We had changed it from "Bamboo" colour fabric as we were afraid it will look terrible but I was surprised it looks great on a furniture than on a piece of sample which is hard to visualise. PS, before I saw your blog, I initially wanted to get the stag head excatly like yours also but somehow decided to KIV on that. Guess we have similar tastes =D

Thanks alot =) Well the beam is covered with wood verneer, follow by layers of laquer. The same goes for the drop down ceiling and main door.
