  3. Hi all! i just asked my hubby, he said Jln Besar sells! I think ikea has industrial looking hooks too that goes well with this (if u require). Here are some pics of my place taken in the day.. (yes, finally!)
  4. morning Sarah! Thanks for taking/wasting yr time to read my t blog yet say such nice things abt it.. Hhaha.. I find it mostly my rants and expectations yet nothing much to show. I'm meaning to snap photos of some updates but was consumed with laziness last night I will certainly let him know his new nickname "DIY expert" n see what he thinks. This said, we have June to thank for her giving him the chance to work with her on her home. He loved the challenges and really happy that June considered n accepted (some?) of the ideas he provided. How do I know? Cos I when I nagged him (almost to the brink of one of our deaths) he always turned the subject ard to how his projects r going n that often made me forget momentarily forget my issues n even sometimes put me to slp. Hahahaha.. Happy long weekend everyone!
  5. hehehe.. (if you ever come by, maybe you can meet her!) Now that you did so many DIY projects so well, perhaps u can do it as a hobby/sideline, this way, you wont be bored!
  6. June! Ur place is so so nice! its so quaint and serene plus every corner seem to have an element of surprise... you know, it sort of remind me of a B&B or hip little hostel or home restaurant .
  7. Hi Vanessa! Thank you! Oh the red knob on the pipe-like thing? I think my hubby picked the knob off somewhere (this,I got to ask him) but everything else he fabricated/assembled/set-up. I think there is some online shop that sells similar industrial-like home decorative items, perhaps June from bachelorette-pad at http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/53060-bachelorette-pad/ could provide u with some links/information.
  8. isabao! So sorry, I think my post wasn't sent out.. Next yr is good, then u have the luxury of time to search for inspiration and source for ID. Hope your reno journey is a good one!
  11. Thanks mark! sometimes too relaxing, we fall asleep while watching tv/ working
  12. Hi vkoh! Hmmm ur question is hard to answer accurately. I try my best. I think it looks dark cos of the camera, I used my Hp n that explains. However, in actuality, it is comfortable, it's not too dark, for watching tv, chilling. For activities like sweeping/mopping working, we have another row of LED lights (nearer to the tv) that we on. I think u can consider 2 points. The size of the area and colour of lights. If the area u wish to illuminate is not too big, able be ok. Cos u can rotate them. but do remember, these lights usually localise to a spot unlike the other ceiling kind (forget the name). If ur track light is warm like mine, maybe not sufficient for lighting but if its white, it shld be fine plus u can direct/rotate the lights abt. Hope this helps.. Since I'm not an expert just basing on my own experience
  13. Morning Greglhc, thanks thanks! His projects were packed before i started the blog but more now that people seen his works (on other blogs too). Aiyah, as long he is happy, I'm happy. So u r right in a way, not just in terms of biz but more in other ways. he/we met so many interesting -like minded forumers that appreciate his work and design style and becos of them, he is able to potentialise his designs.he absolutely love working with them on their house! Passion i reckon. Clients sort of became friends from there on..
  14. Hahhahahah.. man cave! hahahhaha... so typical of him.. He is working now so I dont think I will be seeing him before I zzzz.. thanks to technology, I will whatsapp him to stop cramping your style..and that I love the union jack chest (your gift-giver have v good taste). Actually, our house was his little cave until I bought the pale turquoise computer roller table!
  15. thanks hapigal! I have not step foot in hardrock café ever so I cant relate.. but I guess it not a bad thing after all??!
  16. Hi NSW, MY store room is where my TV wall is.. its where I put my luggage, xmas tree, vacuum hanger, clothes steamer, mini collection of books n many other assorted stuff June, u are so nice to say that I have to say that he is indeed one fusspot which makes me sometimes, frustrated becos it seem like things never get done. (I only have say in the kitchen) .. have u met my mother in law/his mother? She is ultra perfectionist! BTW, jackunion looks good.. that pic u have of it, very magazine worthy! HI Dry, Thanks for dropping by.. I just PM-ed you..
  17. More photos.. (disclaimer: please ignore the mess!) This the almost complete hall and the 2 sofas.. We are lacking of a floor lamp and other stuff but We haven't found the ideal one.. so Hubby is going to make the lamp himself.. sigh.. that means I wont have a floor lamp until months later. A closer look at the customised sofa.. its long enough for me to lie flat comfortably with my dog sitting on me if she wish to join me up there... This is from the other view.. the steel pipes are gg to make a good cardigan hanger but I have a feeling someone wont be too please with that.. hahahah ..
  18. Hi revox88, Yes! there is a bit of craft work to be done so may post a trickle of photo. It's a test of my multi-tasking level.. Heheh.. I'm nt sure abt the cheap n good part, I Duno how much n how energy efficient but it does look nice June! Urs is not so bad, mine is done over a year. In this light, we both have something in common! Hahah n he must be responsible for our awards. Btw, I saw ur pics on ur post. So so nice! The one of ur bedroom look So cosy! It's no wonder why u can bring urself to do up the rest of the things, ur place is just too comfortable for 'nua-ing' Greghc, thanks! Mmmmmm.. I'm not sure abt the lights, my hubby got those. Sorry, I'm useless in the cost department :/
  19. Hellooooooooooooooooooooo............ I'm back after so long... haha.. I think my house will win the award for "Longest renovation ever" Since last update, we have a new sofa, yes, we have 4 sofa in our home now. Alas, no photo taken,.. i kept forgetting to snap a photo. ( but I think some of you who request to meet my hubby came over and saw it) My dinning lights are up finally! Handy-man-ID-Hubby fixed it up, after drilling, cutting and what have you, its up and working. Now we need to patch up the false ceiling and probably do cement screeding over the whole dinning area. Or maybe just a coat of paint before a photographer comes this sat. Talking about it, this is exciting news! a 3rd degree friend is a japanese photographer who is working on a project on HDB flats for her photography book saw photos of our incomplete home couple of months ago and she requested to come over for us to be part of her book project!! *GLEE* So I'm so glad the lights are up! Next would be to have minor stuff here and there like wall craft, skirting for MBR and plants! Hope to get it ready by this weekend.
  20. Its looking good june! And being utterly unbias, I like the colour choice of ur MBR (I cant see the kitchen flooring very well due to the light reflection) and the wooden tiles looks so real! the tiny spacing in between makes it more laminate looking. When will the cabinets be up? I cant wait to see ur completed kitchen!
  21. Hi joannapixie, I have PM-ed you my hubby contacts. Oh dear, I hope you get to do ur reno soon n save some money on rental. I think u can talk to my hubby or any ID/contractor whoever u choose to plan out smthg so when major reno works is ready u can move in as the minor works wont interfere much especially when u r working during the day.
  22. Hello hello Discreed and HL85, U both are welcome! I have PM-ed u my hubby contact
  23. hahaha.. elusive owner! thats a funny way to put it . Wow, i thought the tiles was laminates when i first saw it, looks so 'wood-ish'! Nice! Does it have the 'wooden grains" when u step on it or just a smooth surface like tiles? oh ya, now i get what u mean by having no space to take photos.
  24. Hi June! Geez, thanks! Yes, its more cosy with the sofa and coffeetable :)there are more detailing to be done and I guess it wont be complete till months later. Oh, thats good! I wasnt aware he is doing ur place, I just know he is busy running ard sites thanks for ur support . How is your flat doing? Do share with us updates/feedback oK!
