  1. During this whole process, i brought food (they like 100plus to quench thirst) and cigarettes (they love it) for the workers. Depending on your workers, some do like to have someone to talk to. In my case, the sub-con heads let me join in the plastering (the hawk and float method is not easy man) and making cement process because i asked to have a go at it. They were more than happy to teach you about the tricks and methods of their trade. Ok moving along, below is a pic of a rough initial design for our toilet floor. we are not going to tile the toilet wall and just use weather-shield anti-fungal white paint. If it yellows/darkens in future, will just paint it over.
  2. hacked away an entry to the toilet from master bedroom. Want to be able to walk to kitchen from bedroom through the toilet. There is a sewerage pipe blocking the way. Its there for vacuum purposes. But can be removed if u request. Before: After: Alan has nicely re-routed the pipes too. more space now!

  15. bought some wooden letters to put in the kitchen for eating "nom nom nom" Found these wooden art boxes that you can have so many uses! I didnt buy it... its cheap. $30 if i rem. You can use it for bedside table....sofa side table....keep jewellery...etc.
  16. chalkboard paint from Art Friend. Everyone should drop by art friend if you want to deco your home. Its not cheap though. Alan has it too and its cheaper. Sorry for showing all these pictures first. They were taken before the resale flat was handed over. There were many inspirations from magazines and online websites. Lazy to transfer those pics from another com. If you google it, there are just so many pics and ideas u can get.
  17. found these grey switches along geylang road. I walked the whole of geylang rd, balestier and jalan besar more than 3 times each and I find that I will only go to Geylang and buy. The lights and bathroom items there are definitely cheaper. If they dont have it, just give them the model or picture you want and they can easily get it for u. Anyway, all 3 roads also still cut your throat. Best is to buy lights from JB.
  18. in the same building (tong yuan building) u can also go visit grafunkt showroom
  19. Remember to keep reminding him. Shiok all the best! Make some decisions early first. Tile selection is going to take a while. =)
  20. yah...the brickwall is DIY. I will definitely share how i save the 1.5k to 2k by not buying craft stone. Alan allowed me to waste time DIY-ing it. Do note DIY tend to have the raw feel and craftstone will look neater. cost vs raw look.
