  1. Hahaha...when I saw this thread I really wanted to laugh cos' I realise I am not the only one who think this way! After only being married like 2 months plus I find that the laundry is never-ending too...hee...fortunately now only two of us...

The ironing is worse!! Gotta make sure hubby got 5 nicely ironed long sleeved shirts every week...can't seem to catch up fast enough to clear the mountain of clothes leh...hehe...

    :)

Cheekybee, like u I also hate ironing....bt wat to do...wanna save on the p/t maid cost so gonna do on my own...

I also need to ensure tat my HB got 5 nicely ironed shirts each week no doubt he got so many shirts...

Bt I simply dun like to accumulate the clothes and iron at one shot..I will die man!

I usually iron clothes every Tuesday, Thursday nites after my dinner so that I can slim down a bit too cos I dun wanna be a couch potato each time after I am done with my dinner....

And when come Sun morning, my job is very easy liao with lesser clothes to iron and I can rest for the

whole Sun aftn and get ready for work next day!

  2. Now is time for her to choose the way of life she wan to be with in future. She can take a good look at the female singer (Cai Qing) she is a real good example sometime when u listern to her song u can feel tears in it. :notti:

Decide now is better than do it later, what is the teaching value in it where the family is not put on the top priority.

Hmm....Did tel her before...bt since she has made the decision, dun tink we shd say much cos its her choice...

    We are only outsiders...

  3. I know of a couple who married for more than 5yrs, but the husband doesn't want to have sex at all merely because he doesn't want children in their marriage. His ex-gf had an abortion for him, he doesn't want to repeat the history. But, his wife said he has high sex desire, therefore he'll always ask for petting and the wife to do some job for him. So far I've only heard of wives have no desire for sex, but hardly heard about husbands.

Did your friend talk to her husband to let him know how she feels over this? Some women need sex with their husband to get the assurance that she's still attractive to him, if your friend is also feeling this way, then it's best for her to tell him frankly...... and most important thing of all, she has to find out if he's having some problems that he didn't share with her.

Yes, she did told the husband abt her feelings bt the HB still dun feel anything...he is too engrossed into

bazi, FS and buddhism talks...I not trying to say all these things are not good, bt I tink he is too deep into it and oblivious to his wife's feelings....and when any one of us tried to hint him and joke with him tat he is too deep into such things, he will be angry...so we c no point to tell him anymore...

She did try to find out the problem, bt his HB keep on saying no problems...so this matters still drag on.....

  4. Wow...scary thread....

Hmm...I dun feel anything in my hse now bt last time in my mum's old place at West Coast...

    I did encounter something unusual...

I rmb I need to burn the midnight oil during my secondary sch days, there was 1 night when I

was abt to turn in and going to enter my bedroom....I was stunned by a shaking windchime (vampire

shape) at the window. It was shaking so hard though all the windows are closed!!! Confirmed closed!

I quickly go inside my room and slp....and tell myself tat I am too tired from all the revision.

I told my mum next day and my bro got scolded for buying such a scary windchime home....

From tat day onwards, the windchime is never at the window anymore...

Bt my sis told me something scary recently. She told me every night when she sleep, she could see

footsteps outside the room through the door gap. It is like every night as though a lot of ppl walking outside....

Then there was 1 morning when she was abt to go to school around 6 plus. As she was walking towards the lift, she feels tat it was unusually quiet tat morning as all the neighbours hardly open their doors as normal...

Then she enters the lift and push the "close" button....bt when the door is going to close completely, she dunno y she go and press the "open" button, as though someone is coming into the lift....When the door is open, guess wat she saw?????? A red dressed long hair lady standing near the stairs looking at her!!! OMG, I am hving my goosebumps now!!!! The next moment, my sister pressed the close button frantically and finally when the lift reach the 1st floor, she run like **** to school...panting and sweating....!

This was scary man! And my mum forbids her to tel us until recently when we went out for dinner, then she relate the story to me when we were talking abt ghosts!

I believes the existence of such things, bt definitely wld not wan to bump into it!

  5. Hi Folks....

Need a recommendation for a good doc in Mount E or Gleneagles....

I need to bring my dad for a thorough medical check up there and hv anything rectified

    on the spot if required....

My dad was admitted to a gov hospital before CNY and was diagnosed with pus in the

liver and in the kidney. He was on drip antibiotics for 10 days and the problem is still

not solved...and they cannot perform any surgery due to high risk as the pus is not

too big...Till date he is still on oral antibiotics, bt I tink the pus is still there....

& I tink too much antibiotics is definitely not too good...

Anyone has a similar case??? Can recommend a good doc??

    TIA....

  6. go thru the list again....your toilet also marble? toilet bowl marble? seat cover also marble?

whole kitchen marble the marble? only if everything inside your house is marble then no good lor :notti:

that conwoman fsm dont even understand the basics of 5 elements lah.

No la...if my toilet also marbles....I must be v rich man...

Haha...thanks Mace...its a load off my mind now...

  7. My point is do you think its possible; "just to spy whether their maid is working"? If they wanted to do this, then they would have installed it well before the maid arrives mah, not halfway thru the employment.

Also, why is the camera facing the baby cot and sarong? You mean the maid was employed solely to take care of the baby only, not to do other housework? Or are they already suspicious of something that they are not telling? :notti:

Ok let me put it very bluntly: Could it be that the couple had done something towards the maid, guilty conscience, suspect that the maid might take revenge, so they put a camera to watch her, then end up zhun-zhun saw the maid abusing the baby?? :notti:

Haha...I am just being my usual sensitive self and babbling...dun mind me... :notti:

U hv got a point there....

If the parents really ill-treat the maid, then they are stupid man...cos their baby is in the hands of the maid

when they are not around! We never noe how will the maid treats the baby when they are at work....

    Hmm...seems like no updates anymore....

Hopefully the poor baby dun suffer any internal injuries...he is innocent de....

  8. the only BAD "marble thing" i can think of is ;

    1) you are a Yang water person.

    2) your floor tiles, kitchen tiles, wall tiles, toilet tiles all MARBLE.

    3) your sofa and bed made of 100% marble(no fabrics)

    4) your study desk, dining table, coffee table made of 100% marble

    5) your sinks, faucets, toothbrush, coffee cups, rice bowl, plates all MARBLE.

    6) even the teddy bear that you hugs is marble.

    :notti: :notti::lol:

Hi Mace, my LR & BR's floor tiles are all marbles...Does it mean tat the marble flooring + marble dining table is no good?

  9. I heard from my fren that the couple decided to install the camera just to spy whether their maid is working....bt to their astonishment, they discovered on the abuse on their baby!:D

Hmmm....I also hv my queries.....how come they never discovered anything wrong on the baby????

The maid apply concealer on the bruises..???

What happens if your husband is working as a cleaner earning $800 per month, can you give up your job? What happens for those whose husband is sick, in jail, etc and unable to work? What happens for those who are divorcee or widow, and your job is the sole source of income for the family? And also many other circumstances; I am just naming the more extreme ones...

Thus I think that's the 'luck' she is referring to...there isn't much of a choice, is there?

Hmm...tis is my point la...anyway, lets not dwell on it anymore....

Gong Xi Fa Cai, Wan Shi Ru Yi!

  10. Chunky Monkey.....U r really lucky to be able to afford to go without job and care for your

children entirely with yr patience and love....

I believes one day if I were a mother, I cannot afford to go w/o job...sigh! Living standard is

    too high...

I agree with u tat we can NEVER leave the kids with a maid....If I were to employ a maid, I will

leave the maid with my parents or parents in law...or worse to worse come, perhaps will get a

P/T baby sitter (local) and fetch the baby back home at nights.....

Imagine yr precious baby being tortured in this way.....I will heart bleed man....

  11. :dancingqueen: dumbest thing i ever come across....

marble in 5 elements is basically earth.

earth generally is good for metal element as well as all other elements that needs it.

Mace. I feel relieved aft seeing yr input...cos my hse hv a round marble top dinning table...

I think the article says "IF..."

IMO there is no across-board FS advice for everyone; what's good for you may be bad for me, depends on our elements. For eg my FSM says our red sofa is good for wifey and me...

If so easy can apply across-board, then FSM no need to "tan-jiak" liao...

Agree, agree.....depends v much on our bazi too...

  12. i didnt know this till about until 2yrs ago -

just so happen i was bored till got nothing better to do.

pick up the sg nitetime tabloid newspapers my parents bought.

there was a daily or weekly column for readers to post questions and have them answered by a qualified lawyer.

    the story goes -

a couple backside itchy switched from hdb loan to bank loan for "better" interest. thinking they made a smart move until when they are left with about $57k more to clear, they receive the BOMB from cpf..bla bla bla - the same story above.

With immed effect they got to pay MONTHLY CASH of $1200+ to service their loan despite the fact that their total on going monthly cpf contribution is over $1400.

lawyer replied - there were BLACK n WHITE on this for years, just that you didnt go find out.

Switch from HDB loan to bank loan???? I tink tat is a very wrong move man!

  13. come across this thread and drop by to kay po kay po.

read thru all the post and really stunned by the actions of this guy. this guy is really a 熊猫who dun eat fish but eat only 竹子。

think if i m the girl, i am sure to walk out of this marriage. if not i will go out and seek for my true love. he is so selfish, how can he just expect yr friend to satisfy him nia! nv spare a thought for yr friend. !!

Precisely! Tats y I say he is plain selfish! Really pity my fren!

  14. wat is princess cut??

i oso chose OTR over MTM. in fact, i was really tempted to go for MTM for both my WG and EG.

i chose OTR coz i found 1 WG and 1 EG that is suitable for me... and if i MTM, i might not know if the end product will fit me like a glove anot.

there's a gal who selects the gown same time as me. she MTM both her WG and EG. i find both looks normal and ppl cant tell it is MTM. the impt thing is her WG doesnt turn out exactly as wat she expected. although the coordinator had warned her the possible outcome of the design and material used, she still decided to go ahead with dat design. no choice she had to use dat coz once the gown is being MTM, u cannot change ur choice.

Ladyluck, maybe u can browse through the OTR gowns and if there are gowns which u like, u can consider OTR. Keep your options open! !!

Fifi...u so petite....OTR is fine for u.....not everyone can hv yr petite size hor...really envy!

Help young couples: Cut CPF cap for housing

I WONDER how many Singaporeans are aware they cannot use their CPF savings to pay their housing loan fully.

I did not realise this until I received a letter from the authorities earlier this month which said we could not withdraw more CPF funds to pay for our flat.

Thus, the balance had to be serviced in cash even though we still make monthly CPF contributions.

The reason given by the CPF Board is as follows (quoted from a letter sent to us after repeated appeals to the CPF Board via our MP):

'The primary objective of CPF is to help members save for old age. We must balance the home ownership objective with the retirement objective. This is done by capping the withdrawal of CPF for a property up to the Valuation Limit (VL), that is the purchase price of the property. Once members have withdrawn their CPF up to the VL, they can only withdraw further CPF if they can set aside Minimum Sum cash component in their CPF Special and Ordinary accounts, this amounts to $120,000.'

Can an exception be made for young couples like us who have many other commitments - young children, aged retired parents - and as a result are not cash-rich at present.

What is more, we have many more years to save towards retirement.

Can we therefore be allowed to service our housing loan fully via CPF, given that this is our first flat?

I wonder how old is that writer.

Maybe he's around 24-28yrs old and he's buying at $350-$400k HDB flat?

If that's the case, "head not so big, don buy a big hat"...

Hi Mace, yes, I am aware of it years ago when HB and I wanted to pay off our housing loan for our previous hse and was not allowed to do so bcos of the cap. We bo pian, bcos we dun wanna pay in cash, therefore we did not settle in full...

Somehow or rather, I feel tat tis is unfair leh....how come our CPF got money, but cannot pay in full wif CPF??? It is not as if we are emptying our CPF! We are also emptying our CPF the first time we buy the flat wat!

  16. hi all,

    juz to share my experience.

im in a medium size company, total staffs strength is about 600++ (i think, too many ppl here already)

and there are different subsidiaries, depts, divisions etc.

so in order to implement and control all staffs & workers, we have this electronic HR thing so that we are able to do these things:

    1) apply leave must apply in advance of 3 days for normal leave application other then that its urgent leave and must put reason.

    2) there is a daily board where you can see who are on leave from which dept for 3 days (3 days forecast)

    3) to prevent ppl from same dept taking leave on same timing and thus leave crash. we are expected to take turn to take leave unless valid reason is provided. this is gd as it helps the managers to plan and arrange who to cover duties.

we have the following type of leave and all these are watched/approved/etc. by the Union so cannot anyhow change anything:

    1) maternity leave

    2) urgent leave

    3) annual leave

    4) childcare leave

    5) hospitalation leave - must be in hospital type, different from sick leave

    6) compassionate leave

    7) business leave

    8) exam leave

    9) NS leave

    10) on course leave

    11) no pay leave

    12) sick leave - eg. MC

    but no: FREE LEAVE :notti:

and so in order to make everyone follow the company rules & regulations, we have to apply leave should we need to be away from work.

only individual bosses (also depend on who you work with) will give you time off with 1 eye open and 1 eye close. and some bosses will be vy strict, but some will back stab you behind by complaining to HR and you will kana from HR.

but of course there are many ppl who can geng type who will go take MC instead of taking annual leave as they want to accumulate as many as possible so that can take and go for long holiday or take leave as and when they like.

until 2 years ago, our 2nd auditor came in and said that MC is a cost to the company and so is accumulated annual leave. they present a scenario to us; eg. if profit sharing / bonus for year 2000 is 7 months for each staffs, and due to too many accumulated leave, some may get 7mths, some 5mths, some 3mths, some 2weeks, depending on how many leave they have accumulated, ppls start to get a shock. and start to take proper leave. dunno if this is a gd way but now there are less accumulation of leave and unnecessary MCs. (coz some ppl give fake MCs and was somehow been found out)

Wow....yr company is quite rigid in the leave thing....quite stressful bt the profit sharing/bonus seems attractive! Perhaps tat may motivate ppl not to keng here and there....got pros and cons...

  17. my toilet door is facing the bowl too. most houses have design like this. as long when u lie on the bed u do not see the toilet, that should be ok. after all, one does not spend that much time in the toilet. I installed door closer to keep the door closed at all times. even the bowl cover also closed.

Ya...actually my MBR toilet also like tat.....not most designs of the hse is like tat meh???

Bt I do keep the door closed at all times....hmmm, anyway to remedy this kinda situation?

    Thanks!
