HiHi Kalle Welcome to T-blog! I think we both are having similar concept/theme for our house. I will be doing cement screed on selected walls for my living room as well as kitchen. Yes I heard that Cement screed walls crack easily but if is just hairline cracks, I think I can live with it, in fact I feel it will further enhance the raw/unfinished look. As for the low platform as seats for dining, I'm also having similar concept but mine would be a cement bench which is linked to the TV console. When are you starting your renovation? Can't wait to see photos from you. Will be following your blog closely since we are having very close ideas ^^

Only one sat afternoon and the gap in the MBR parquet flooring is patched up and so are all the neccessary skirting. (photos provided by contractor)

Hihi Terencetcw Actually I also do not know how much is my electrician cos my contractor quoted me in a lump sum which is included in the main contract and I can request to add any light point or electric point and no need to top up $.

There is also some progress for the wet work, finally the tilers is availble to work on my project, thus in the month of Jan all my wet work should be able to complete (hopefully) The skeleton of my TV console and connecting dining bench is up.

Though its new year eve but work was still on going at my new place. Since air con pipe was up last nite, contractor arranged for the box up to be done today. I arrived at around 11am and part of the box up was already done Living Room Aircon pipe box up already done before I arrived Common Room - Wont be doing box up for this room, since we are not doing up this room. MBR - this area got the worse trucking as all the 3 unit pipes will run into the MBR toilet Actually when i saw how they box up the MBR trucking, I was very worried. They actually drilled into the trucking to secure the boxup, I wonder will they punctured the pipes and cause problem later. But its already half way done when I arrive Is this how they usually do box up? Hope really won't have problems later.

Hope the start of tomorrow is a better ahead for me. Some updates: Aircon pipes installation was completed yesterday. I had bought the Starmex inverter system 3 with configuration of 24+18+9 for living room, MBR and common room respectively. Got it from Imperial Distributor (Aron Putt) 2 workers came at 11am and they started work physically at around 12.30pm and end at 9.30pm. Contractor and myself stayed all the way till 9.30pm in order to lock up. I was really lucky that my contractor actually waited together with me and even sent me home after such a long day. Hubby got to call citygas many many times in order to get an appointment date for the installation of the city gas pipe. On the day of installation, only our contractor went down to co-ordinate. And as usual after job done, photos was provided to us accordingly.

Finally wedding is over, I can now focus my time on the renovation of our love home. The days when I was busy, my contractor had been taking care of stuff at my place. He had completed the electrical wiring and also done up the false ceiling. He took photos for me after the work was completed so that I do not need to go down at my busiest time. Thanks Defelio for ur reply. Actually I showed ur shoes cabinet pic to the EDL person in charge but he they dun have this kind of laminate with the visible line. Can you share was the laminate come with vertical black line or u actually cut the laminate into smaller stripe and putting them together leaving a gap in-between? Sorry for the many questions..

White album is EDL? Reflective album is starting with A? I forgot how to spell. But I look through all, cannot find a laminate with those lines?

this week's objective is to finalise the laminate selection so that we can work on 3D drawing, but who can make any judgement from that small pc in those catalog. So I asked my contractor to drive us down to sungei kadut to check out the actual pc. Most challenging was to decide for kitchen cabinets cos wood grain laminate got such wide range of selection but we were quite clear what we wanted. And during our search, there was 1 design both me and my contractor fell in love with it at the first sight. so we knew for sure -- this is the one. Let me share those that was on our list
